Armed with the ShuriCopter, Zane, Lloyd, and Nya fly over the burning landscape of Ninjago City in search of Aspheera. Fortunately, the ancient Serpentine Sorceress wasn't too hard to find; all they had to do was follow the trail of destruction she was causing in her wake. Unfortunately, Aspheera spotted them too and commanded Fire Fang to strike the ShuriCopter with a massive fireball.
The blast knocked Lloyd out from the helicopter's cockpit and also knocked Zane out completely, forcing him to reboot. This left only Nya to handle the copter's controls, and much to her surprise, it turned out the ShuriCopter's controls had been specifically designed to be flown only by a nindroid, such as Zane or P.I.X.A.L.. While Nya attempted to get a hang over the copter's controls, crashing into some apartments along the way, Lloyd made his way down to confront Aspheera in the city streets.
Facing off against the sorceress, Aspheera boasted that her powers have grown even stronger than before, now that she carried a Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu. With the powers of the scroll, nothing would stand between her and her revenge on the Treacherous Deceiver! When Lloyd insisted on stopping her, Aspheera, amused by the young man's challenge, handed over her naginata containing the scroll to Char, swapping it out for a regular one instead to make it a fair challenge. Lloyd then attacked Aspheera with bolts of Energy, but the Sorceress captured and redirected Lloyd's blasts back at him!
As the fight continued, Aspheera channeled her stolen elemental powers of Fire through the naginata, which Lloyd countered with Energy as he attempted to escape towards a better vantage point. Unfortunately, Aspheera saw through each and every one of Lloyd's plans and stopped him every time. When Aspheera boasted she was too powerful for the Green Ninja, Lloyd shot back that Aspheera would fail because lacked balance, and without it, she would lose in the end. The sorceress scoffed at his words however and commanded Fire Fang to attack him. Meanwhile, Nya discovered that the ShuriCopter had an 'average person mode' and activated it to finally take control over the helicopter. At this moment, Zane finished his reboot and took the controls back from Nya. The two then swooped down towards Lloyd just as Fire Fang prepared to attack, picking up their friend and flying off, deciding that a new plan of action was necessary to defeat Aspheera.
