Boobytraps and How to Survive Them[]

When Aspheera caused the pyramid to erupt, it conjured up Fire Fang. She then commanded the giant beast to take her to Ninjago City.

Snaketastrophy[]

When Gayle Gossip decided to follow one of the Elemental Cobras, they find Fire Fang and saw that more Elemental Cobras are surrounding Aspheera who demands them to find the "Treacherous Deceiver."

Powerless[]

In order to obtain the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu, Aspheera is seen riding Fire Fang to the Ninjago Museum of History along with Gayle Gossip, Vinny, and many Elemental Cobras.

Ancient History[]

After obtaining the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu, Fire Fang used the Scroll in order to find the Treacherous Deceiver's scent. After finding his scent, Aspheera rides Fire Fang to find him.

When Nya arrives to stop Aspheera, Fire Fang fights back by spewing fire while Nya uses her Elemental Powers. While this is going on, Lloyd hops onto the Aspheera's Fire Fang and kicks her staff out of her hand. Lloyd and Aspheera snatched the staff at the same time, but Aspheera uses Spinjitzu to defeat Lloyd. With the plan failing, Nya and Lloyd are surrounded by the Pyro Vipers, but Zane bails them out when he arrives in his ShuriCopter.

Under Siege[]

Fire Fang headed towards the Monastery while spewing fireballs at ninja and Wu. When they arrive, Aspheera takes out the Monastery's defenses while Fire Fang destroyed the door, causing the ninja and Wu to flee to the hangar bay.

After Crystalized[]

After Aspheera's defeat, Fire Fang left the Mountains of Impossible Height and fled into hiding. Several months after the Final prophecy of Quanish the Elder, Fire Fang made his way to the Lake of Fire, where he hid in a cave. There, he was discovered and christened as a deity by the Fire Fiends, a fire cult that had long resided at the lake. As they made various sacrifices and worshiped Fire Fang, he chose to stay there with them for many months.^[1]

Quest for the Lost Powers[]

Fire Fang's survival and presence would eventually become public knowledge after the Fire Fiends began raiding villages near the Lake of Fire in search of more tribute for the giant serpent. The news of his survival eventually reached the ears of the now depowered Kai, who believed that he could regain his powers by defeating the giant serpent. He then journeyed alongside Skylor in search of Fire Fang, eventually discovering and confronting him at the Lake of Fire. Although Kai was unable to retake his elemental powers from the creature, he managed to regain his powers anyway after realizing that in order to protect others, he had to allow them to protect him as well.

With his powers restored, Kai and Skylor were able to defeat Fire Fang, brutally beating the serpent off the side of the Lake of Fire, where he collapsed into the sand. Before the two could slay him however, they were distracted by the arrival of some of the villagers they had met earlier, all of whom wanted to help destroy Fire Fang. When Kai and Skylor finally turned their attention back to Fire Fang, he was surprisingly gone without leaving behind any trace. Whether he had managed to escape or if he had succumbed to his injuries and disintegrated like the other Elemental Cobras before him, neither knew for sure.

Behind the scenes[]

• According to the set designer, Dimitrios Stamatis, Fire Fang was inspired by the Great Devourer.^[3]
• Fire Fang was originally intended to appear in "Gold Rush" as one of the villains alongside Aspheera, Acidicus, and the unnamed Serpentine warriors, but in the final version, the Serpentine as the villainous faction are replaced by the Shadow Banshees.^[4]

Trivia[]

• It is the third biggest snake after the Great Devourer and the Anacondrai serpent.
• In "Ancient History," Fire Fang was confirmed to be male. This would make it the first male serpent.
• According to a Ninjago Magazine and LEGO.com, Aspheera conjured Fire Fang directly out of the lava from the pyramid.^[5]
  • Because of this, he is one of the only snakes that were not thousands of years old.
• In the set, Fire Fang is being pulled by two Pyro Vipers. This makes it similar to 70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile from Nexo Knights, since they are both fire-themed sets with two characters pulling it, connected by chains.
• Like Heatwave, Thunderfang, and Leaf Blade, he shares his name with a Pokémon move.
