Fire at Will[]

After being rescued from Aspheera's pyramid by P.I.X.A.L. with the ShuriCopter, the Ninja scramble to their vehicles and begin making their way out from the Desert of Doom. As they ride across the desert dunes, P.I.X.A.L. notes that due to the pyramid's continued eruption and spewing of lava chunks, she had no choice but to break off from following her friends and would rendezvous with them at the Monastery of Spinjitzu. As the group rides onward, they realize something is stirring in the sand: several of the released lava chunks have awakened into fiery Elemental Cobras.

Pursued by their newfound enemies, the Ninja break for a nearby river in the desert, intending to use the water against their fiery foes. Before they could reach however, the Cobras begin spewing fireballs at the Ninja convoy, forcing Cole and Kai to retreat atop the Land Bounty with the latter manning the cannon while Cole, Jay, and Lloyd provided cover. When the Land Bounty's cannonballs proved ineffective, Nya decided to use her elemental powers of Water against the Cobras, but unfortunately they were out of range of her torrents.

With it being too dangerous to advance closer to their enemies, Zane proposed a new plan: while Lloyd and Cole provided cover, Nya would create balls of water which he would then freeze; these balls of ice would then be fired from the cannon by Kai at the Elemental Cobras, and Jay would use his lightning to warm up the flying ice balls so that they would melt back into water and splash onto the cobras! Zane's plan went on without a hitch, though Kai grumbled under his breath that he was now an "Ex-Fire Ninja who was now firing balls of ice." As the Ninja continued to destroy the Elemental Cobras, Zane briefly began to slow down on his job, experiencing another vision, this time seeing a mysterious, frozen samurai. After being snapped back to reality by Nya, Zane apologized and continued to play his role. On one launch, Jay missed his mark and failed to shock the latest volley of ice balls, but to the Ninja's surprise, it turned out ice balls were just as effective at destroying the Elemental Cobras.

Some time later, the Ninja had successfully reduced the numbers of the Elemental Cobras to be countable by hand. With their enemies' numbers sufficiently thinned, the Ninja reboarded their respective vehicles and continued onward to Ninjago City, with Nya destroying the remaining cobras with her powers as they drove past. Meanwhile, in Ninjago City, Aspheera had located the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu and declared that with its power, she will be able to raise up her army of Pyro Vipers and have her revenge against the Treacherous Deceiver.
