The Oncoming Storm
The Oncoming Storm[]
After Day of the Departed, the Ninja were training at the Temple of Airjitzu when Cole suddenly saw Yang, who revealed to him that Cole is the only one who can see him now. Lloyd got worried about the upcoming future, to which Master Wu answered that the Ninja should be prepared for everything, as he also senses that something evil is coming. Suddenly, Dr. Saunders called the Ninja and asked them to come to the Ninjago Museum of History.
In the museum, the curator asked the Ninja find an ancient artifact he doesn't know much about and gives them a map with its possible location. During the search, the Ninja were attacked by the Serpentine led by Acidicus, who claimed that the Ninja will never get to the "Sacred artifact". After confronting the snakes two times, the Ninja found nothing and asked for Master Wu's help, to which he said that they should check an abandoned rail station in Ninjago City. When the Ninja got to this place, they were again attacked by the Serpentine, but Cole defeated them using his Earth Punch. This punch led to a wall in the building being partially broken, and the Ninja indeed found a strange artifact there, after which they delivered it to Dr. Saunders, who thanked them for their help with an evil smile.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- The events of the comic are similar to the events of Pythor's Revenge: Dr. Saunders asks the Ninja to deliver him a technology that he will need for his later plan, and during this, the Ninja encounter Pythor. It is possible that some plot points of the upcoming book were given to the writer of the comic.
- The comic does not correspond with Pythor's Revenge due to the fact that this book and issue 22 feature all possible events that could've happen between Day of the Departed and Season 7.
- The comic features purple Pythor amongst the Serpentine, which is impossible chronologically for many obvious reasons.
- The comic features yellow-eyed Hypnobrai, which unintentionally foreshadows their appearance in Dragons Rising years later.
- The "ancient artifact" introduced in this comic will later appear in issue 29 and will be revealed to be a Vermillion incubator.
- Despite the comic coming out months before Season 7, is already foreshadows Dr. Saunders being a villain.
