The Lone Snake
The Lone Snake[]
As he soars across the skies of Ninjago atop of Wisp, Jay caught sight of a pillar of smoke rising up from a nearby forest. Soaring down to investigate, Jay discovered Lasha lying unconscious on the ground as flames from the Serpentine's damaged Bite Cycle drew ever closer. Without a second thought towards his own safety, Jay hauled the unconscious snake onto his dragon and they flew off and clear from danger.
When Lasha awoke, he was startled by Jay's presence and threatened to fight back, though Jay brushed off the former's threats and stated that he had just saved his life. As Jay prepared to leave, Lasha called out to him, insisting that he had something to say. Although Jay was skeptical of the Venomari's claims, he listened anyway as Lasha warned Jay of an impending attack by the Serpentine. While privately acknowledging the possibility of a trap to himself, Jay agreed to believe in Lasha when the scout insisted that he had to repay the Ninja of Lightning for saving his life. The two then set out to warn the other Ninja.
Some time later, Lasha led the ninja to the Sea of Sand, claiming that this is where the Serpentine had planned to attack. At that exact moment, three other Venomari popped out from the sand in an ambush. While the ninja were confident at first against three Venomari, they soon found themselves surrounded by an entire army and were quickly routed. After the ninja are secured in a prison cell, Acidicus rallies up his troops and declares that with the ninja defeated, they can now launch their attacks on Ninjago and Master Wu unimpeded. Meanwhile, Jay angrily speaks to Lasha, demanding to know why the scout had betrayed him despite saving the latter's life. In response, Lasha explains that he had to in order to become popular with the other snakes. As the scout walks off, Jay cautions him that popularity isn't everything and expresses hope that Lasha's betrayal was worthwhile.
As Lasha regroups with the other Venomari, Acidicus pulled him to the side and informed the scout that he was no longer needed for their coming attacks and that Lasha could leave now. When the scout protested, arguing that he could provide more ideas, Acidicus snapped back that they will call for his assistance when needed, but for now, he is to obey the orders of his general. As the Venomari general turns his focus on other matters, ordering the captured Golden Weapons to be delivered to Pythor, Lasha hangs his head back in shame. Jay was right.
Acidicus now ordered for the Golden Weapons to be brought to him for inspection. As Spitta stepped forward with the weapons, Lasha discreetly tripped him, causing the weapons to land just outside of the ninja's cage. Reclaiming their Golden Weapons, the ninja break free and use their Spinjitzu to defeat Acidicus and his army. Although the battle was now won, the other ninja still haven't forgiven Lasha and set their eyes on him next, though Jay intervened to protect the scout. Standing between his friends and Lasha, Jay reminded them that Lasha had just saved their lives and that they should let him go this time, even though he had betrayed their trust. With the ninja slowly backing down, Jay turned to Lasha and asked if the snake had learned a lesson today - a question Lasha eagerly affirms.
Sometime later, onboard Destiny's Bounty, Jay informs Wu about his experiences today and Wu asked him in response as to what he had learned from those experiences. In response, Jay answers that not all snakes are evil and some want to do good, further adding his hope that maybe one day the snakes may realize that not all ninja are their enemies. Impressed with his response, Wu affirmed Jay's answer and stated that forgiveness is an important life lesson and that he should never let hate dictate his actions - a lesson that Jay should always uphold to keep, even in the most difficult of situations.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- The comic cannot be placed anywhere on the timeline as it shows a confrontation between Wisp and Venomari, which is impossible due to Shard already leaving to the Spirit Coves by the time when Venomari were freed.
- In the comic, Spitta briefly holds all four Golden Weapons and does not get obliterated.
- Its difficult to make out in the panel, but its possible some of the weapons were stacked on one another and Spitta was not physically holding all four at one time.
- This is the second time Lizaru briefly held Scythe of Quakes, the first time being Farm of Fear.
