Overview
Into the lava! is the second episode of Return to the Wyldness.
Synopsis
Synopsis[]
Wyldfyre knows she’s great at lots of things, but babysitting isn’t one of them. Just because she was raised by a dragon doesn’t mean she has any clue how to care for one (or three!). But Kai wouldn’t leave three little dragons to fend for themselves, right?![1]
Plot
Plot[]
Wyldfyre moves along the cave, intending to take the three baby Lava Dragons to their parents while they were all over her. She then comes across two tunnels, where the babies point out for her to take the left tunnel, but she goes down the right tunnel instead.
Having difficulty seeing in the dark tunnel, Wyldfyre accidentally walks face first into a wall before igniting her Heat powers in annoyance and to illuminate the way. Shortly after, Wyldfyre and the babies find themselves before a molten river of lava, watching for a few seconds before the ground beneath Wyldfyre's feet breaks apart, sending them drifting down the red hot stream. As their platform begins to sink however beneath the lava as it drifts, Wyldfyre begins to hurl fireballs at nearby stalactites, dropping them into the lava as she hops across their surfaces. As they finally approach a landing of solid ground, Wyldfyre finds herself at an impasse as there are no more stalactites to drop. One of the babies however suggests blasting the ceiling, to which Wyldfyre notes is a great idea and does so, dropping a large chunk of stone into the lava for her to hop across.
As she lands safely on solid ground, Wyldfyre pauses for a moment before realizing that the babies were gone. Despite initially panicking, she realizes that she had accidentally hurled them into the air as she was hopping to the final platform, and they were now hanging in a chain above the lake of lava, clinging onto the edges of where a piece of ceiling used to be. Thinking quickly, Wyldfyre pushes a nearby stone into the lava and calls for the babies to drop down, enabling them to safely cross to the other side and join her, licking her face in gratitude as she laughs.
