One day, long after the Final prophecy of Quanish the Elder, the Ninja are hard at work training within the Monastery of Spinjitzu. As they train, Jay questions the point of doing so now that Ninjago is once again at peace without an enemy to fight. In response, Wu explains that continuous training assists to nurture growth, as there is always room for improvement. Turning next to Lloyd, Wu expresses a sense of pride and sadness, knowing that Lloyd has nearly mastered everything Wu could possibly teach him, and that there was not much more he could teach, instead urging his nephew to continue to find ways to teach himself.
After the training session Lloyd joined with the others in the kitchen, learning from his mother, Misako, that they were out of Tea. In fact, there seemed to be a shortage of tea throughout Ninjago. Heading out to Ninjago City, the Ninja would learn from various vendors that no one has had tea in stock for weeks and that the tea plantation that supplies most of the city's tea had suddenly ceased to produce. Curious, the Ninja journeyed to the tea plantation, where they learned from the farmers that in actuality, the plantation was still producing but was being pillaged by a group of bandits led by The Mechanic.
Upon learning of their plight, the Ninja began to train the farmers and villagers in the ways of martial arts to defend their village, constructing defenses, and laying traps as they prepared for the bandits to return. The next day, the Ninja and villagers got into their positions as they awaited the arrival of the Mechanic and his bandits, using their new fighting abilities to surprise and defeat the pillagers. After the Mechanic's defeat, Lloyd spoke with one of the girls he had trained, apologizing to her for being dismiss of her personal style and thanking her helping him to realize that, by teaching others, he had found a way to continue learning.

- This issue features Ninjago: Dragons Rising in the Ninjago Magazine, thus making it the final issue for the original series.
- The comic in this issue takes place after Quest for the Lost Powers, given that the Ninja have regained their elemental powers.
- The plot of the comic also seems to take inspiration from Seven Samurai, with the Ninja training a group of villagers to defend themselves from bandits.[1]
- It was revealed that the Merge itself was the reason why the Elemental Masters introduced in Season 1 of Dragons Rising got their powers in the first place, mentioning that "The Merge stirred new Elemental Masters!".
- The fact that a new generation of Elemental Masters was formed because of the Merge was first mentioned by Euphrasia and Suetonius in "Writers of Destiny," in which they both mentioned in the end of the episode that the former got the power of Wind because of one of the Merge's consequences.
