Rough Repairs!
Rough Repairs![]
Following their victory against the Crystal King, the Ninja have begun working on restoring the Monastery of Spinjitzu. As Lloyd and Nya depart on Destiny's Bounty to obtain building materials, P.I.X.A.L. reminds them that they need steel plates, not iron ones. Once the ship departs, she and Zane head down into the Samurai X Cave, which had survived the monastery's bombing by the Council of the Crystal King. Within the cave, Zane looks around the battered, but still standing, mechs and vehicles, reminiscing on their past usage in protecting Ninjago. He questions, however, now that all evil has been defeated, what remaining use do the mechs have?
Turning towards P.I.X.A.L., Zane proposes that they donate the mechs to the Ninjago City Police Department, though P.I.X.A.L. quickly shuts down that idea, noting that with the "clumsy" commissioner, things would not work out so well. Zane chuckled in agreement and instead suggested that the mechs could be used to train a new generation of ninja. P.I.X.A.L. answered in agreement with this suggestion, but added that beginner ninja should not be allowed to use the mechs, and they would have to be trained a bit first. Continuing, she notes that the mechs require repairs, and suggested that they should start with that first.
While Zane begins to work on repairs, P.I.X.A.L. turns towards a nearby console, ruminating that each mech's programming required an overhaul as well, and she started by resetting them to their factory settings. Unfortunately, the computers were more damaged than she had realized, immediately short-circuiting and catching fire seconds after. With a sigh, P.I.X.A.L. muttered to herself that she would work on the mechs today then, then the computers tomorrow. At that moment however, each of the mechs suddenly came to life and began attacking the two Nindroids, surprising Zane as he worked on them. P.I.X.A.L. surmised that the short-circuit on the console while she was working on it was likely to blame, having probably triggered the mechs' self-preservation function.
The two ran towards the lift, frantically pressing the 'up' button repeatedly as a smaller model of the Samurai Mech chased after them, rapidly gaining ground and latching onto the rising platform. Upon reaching the surface level, Zane and P.I.X.A.L. made a mad rush off the platform as the mech became wedged between the lift and the ground. Cole, Kai. and Jay then approached the pair, asking what was going on. The Nindroids explained their predicament: the mechs were stuck on autopilot and self-preservation mode, and one had chased after them, but fortunately was stuck. Uneasily, Jay pointed past the pair, warning that the mini Samurai Mech had managed to free itself.
The Ninja then rushed to grab weapons to utilize against the rogue mech; as they squared up against it however, they were soon greeted by four other mechs that had managed to climb their way to the surface as well. With their odds of victory significantly diminished, P.I.X.A.L. revealed that one way for them to override the autopilot was to enter into each mech's cockpit and perform a manual override. With a smile, Kai declared that this would be easy and immediately sped off towards one mech with Spinjitzu, but was roughly knocked to the side as he attempted to enter the cockpit. P.I.X.A.L. then proposed that with the right momentum and timing, the four ninja could enter and command the four mechs simultaneously rather than commandeering them one at a time.
Activating a burst of proto-spinjitzu, P.I.X.A.L. distracted the four mechs as each of the Ninja launched themselves into their cockpits and shut down the autopilot systems. And just in time too, for Nya and Lloyd had returned with the steel plates! With the day now saved, P.I.X.A.L. told her friends to remain in their mechs to help unload the heavy sheets of metal.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- Nya's original Samurai Mech appears in its Legacy form.
- P.I.X.A.L.'s original Samurai Mech appears for the first time since "The Absolute Worst," most likely due to the second Samurai X Mech not existing as a physical set.
- However, it is presumed to represent the second mech, as the original red version of the mech also appears there.
- P.I.X.A.L. performs Spinjitzu on her own in the comic.
- Zane and P.I.X.A.L. discussing the possiblities of recruiting new ninja foreshadows Lloyd and Kai teaching Arin, Sora, and Wyldfyre in Dragons Rising.
Errors[]
- The Golden Dragon Motorbike is said to have survived the monastery's explosion, while it being in the Police impound lot at the time.
- The Hangar's Bay entrance is shown to be from the monastery's courtyard instead of the relaxation room.
