The Spectral Crown was a crown that was conjured by Zaiden Kane to control the Lycan King.

Background[]
The Spectral Crown was created by Zaiden Kane sometime after Argus’ unfortunate transformation into the Lycan King in order to bend him to their will. By controlling the cursed lord with the Spectral Crown, Kane went into battle against the Wolf Clan. In a final bid to stop the sorcerer, the Wolf Clan used their knowledge of Theroxian Magic to render the Crown incorporeal and inaccessible to them. After the battle, Zaiden went into hiding while Argus wandered the Wyldness for millennia with the Spectral Crown still bound to his head in its incorporeal state.

The Lycan King emerged from the forest surrounding the Shadow Dojo, and atop the giant lycanthrope's head, rested the spectral crown.
The Lycan King[]
The Lycan King wore the spectral crown in combat against Garmadon and the Children of the Wolf.
Masters and Students[]
Mama Mawa explained to Garmadon that the only way to save the Wolf Clan was by removing the Spectral Crown from the Lycan King's brow. However, as long as the four Runes of Binding remained intact, the Spectral Crown would remain immaterial and could not be touched.
One night, Zaiden Kane reappeared and visited the Lycan King, who still wore the spectral crown atop his brow.
Destinies[]
The Lycan King wore the spectral crown when he appeared in the Shadow Dojo and abducted Asa, taking him to Lupindor.
Homecoming[]
Journeying to Lupindor in search of their missing friend, the Children of the Wolf and Garmadon fought to destroy the runes of binding that were present on the Lycan King. When their efforts failed, Asa himself struck the Lycan King with a powerful blow of Shatterspin, one strong enough to destroy all four runes on his own. With the crown now reverted back to its corporeal form, Garmadon struck it off the Lycan King's brow where it landed at the feet of Mama Mawa.
Although he implored for her to destroy the crown, Mama Mawa revealed their true identity as Zaiden Kane and instead put on the magical artifact, once again regaining control over the Lycan King. Kane continued to wear the crown as they and the Lycan King pursued Garmadon and Asa to the Shadow Dojo. In the ensuing fight, Asa snatched away the spectral crown and destroyed it with the full power of Shatterspin, triggering an explosion that vaporized himself, Kane, and the Lycan King.
