History[]

Background[]

At some point, Bolsen got stranded in the Land of Monsters. In there, he got mind controlled by the Queen of Monsters.

The Ruins! (flashback)[]

Just as Kai was about to be crushed by the monster pig, Bolsen intervened and struck at the creature to divert its attention away from the Master of Fire. He and Kai then worked in together, launching attacks in tandem to fell the great beast.

When the monster pig was slain, Bolsen hid the condition of his hands from Kai before introducing himself, stating that he was a bounty hunter who had been trapped in the Land of Monsters for some time. Shortly after, Daidan was taken away by a horde of winged monsters and Bolsen offered to help Kai in tracking down the horde to save the dragon.

Queen of Monsters! (flashback)[]

As Daidan was carried off to the lair of the Queen of Monsters, Bolsen accompanied Kai in climbing the mountain to save the dragon. As they climbed, Bolsen explained his willingness to help by stating that the Land of Monsters can change a person, and doing good for others helps to remind him of who he was. Unfortunately, as the duo entered the cave, Kai discovered that Bolsen had long been corrupted and enthralled by the Queen who then exerted this power over the bounty hunter, forcing him to protect her from Kai. Although Bolsen initially had the advantage of surprise, Kai was able to fight back against him and quickly turned the tables.

As Bolsen struggled, the Queen watched his performance with disappointment and decided that he had outlived his usefulness, declaring that she would feed on him once she was done with Daidan. This comment allowed Bolsen to shake off the Queen's enthrallment. and he, alongside Kai, would fight back against the Queen. In the ensuing fight, Bolsen leapt towards the Queen's head and kept her distracted while Kai sliced open her underbelly, killing her.

With the Queen of Monsters slain, most of Bolsen's physical corruptions were undone. Although Kai offered for him to continue journeying alongside himself and Daidan, Bolsen declined Kai's offer and stated that he would try to help others survive the Land of Monsters in an effort to rediscover himself.
