Plot

One day, at the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Kai was teaching Wyldfyre to strike a target with a fireball while blindfolded and focusing on maintaining her balance. The purpose of this test was less about actually hitting the target, but more about honing the latter's emotional balance. As his student grumbled about the impossibility of her task, Kai urged her to be careful about the Bonsai trees, emphasizing that they were quite old.
Unfortunately, Wyldfyre lost her temper after several failed attempts at striking the target and angrily hurled a fireball to the side, destroying one of the bonsai - specifically Kichona Ki, Kai's favorite one! Horrified by her actions, Wyldfyre ran off into the monastery while lamenting her actions. After entering a room, Wyldfyre slammed the door shut, accidentally knocking a vase from its mount with the force of her action.
Discovering that the vase held a series of scrolls, Wyldfyre picked one up at random and began to read them, recognizing that the drawings and handwriting were that of Kai's. As she continued to read, the girl's eyes widened in horror, shock, and fear as she read about Kai's journey in the Land of Monsters. At that moment, Kai entered the room and demanded for Wyldfyre to hand him the scrolls. After failing to take them from her by force, Kai relented and told her of his experiences during his journey. After telling Wyldfyre about the lessons he learned from his journey and emphasizing that she wasn't a monster, Wyldfyre apologized for torching Kichona Ki and resumed her training.
Back in the training yard, Kai congratulated Wyldfyre as she struck yet another target while blindfolded. As she thanked Kai for inspiring her with the story of his travels, Kai thought to himself about how much of a burden had been lifted from his shoulders now that he told at least one friend about his dark travels.

- The comic shares similarities to "Wyldfyre: Return to the Wyldness", both comics use the same title as the shorts series they are based on, and were released before they were announced.
