History
History[]
To Become a Monster[]
At some point in time, Daidan's child was killed by the colossal monster, leaving her vengeful and bitter. One day after the Merge, Daidan saw an opportunity for revenge and sought to destroy the colossal monster's crystal egg to inflict the same pain it had inflicted upon her. Her attempts at destruction were witnessed by Kai, who intervened and stopped her from attacking, believing that she was attacking an innocent monster. In reply, Daidan protested telepathically that she was not the monster here as she explained her history with the monster to the Master of Fire.
Unswayed by her story, Kai tried to talk Daidan out of her intentions of destruction, though she ignored his pleas, rebuffing them by simply stating the egg wasn't a monster yet. As she flew towards the egg and prepared to unleash a blast of Energy from her mouth, Daidan caught a glimpse of her hateful reflection in the egg's surface and broke off her attack, flying back to rescue Kai just before he was crushed by the colossal monster. As they spoke later, Daidan dismissed Kai's words of gratitude, huffing that he had made her weak and that in the Land of Monsters, it was impossible to survive without becoming a monster oneself. With these final words, Daidan and Kai parted ways.
False Light[]
Several days later, Daidan encountered Kai again on the shores of a lake inhabited by the Gimon-Ogu. She noted that Kai was in need of help this time before Rusty requested fire from her, a request she obliged to. Daidan then caught a glimpse of her child on the water's surface. With a mixture of shock and relief, Daidan followed the illusion into the water after Kai. After Rusty's sacrifice broke the sea monster's illusions, Daidan carried Kai out of the lake and shouted for him to kill the creature.
In the aftermath, she and Kai sat along the banks of the lake. The dragon admitted to the Master of Fire that she was wrong to believe protecting others was a sign of weakness. After sharing some parting words, she watched as Kai continued onward in his journey, vanishing into the sunrise.
The Forest of Teeth! (flashback)[]
Some point after parting ways, Daidan encountered Kai again and joined him on his journey through the Land of Monsters. One day, as they soared through the skies, Daidan and Kai were attacked by a horde of flying monsters. Although both dragon and Master of Fire tried their best to fight off the creatures, Daidan was injured in the struggle and plummeted to the ground with her rider, with both landing inside the Forest of Teeth.
When Kai regained consciousness, he rushed to Daidan's side and asked if she was okay, though Daidan responded by sarcastically asking if she looked okay to him. Nevertheless, she insisted that she would be fine after a moment's rest and encouraged Kai to save a small, insect-like monster while she recovered.
Sometime later, Kai regrouped with Daidan once she had recovered and the group began walking through the forest in search of shelter for the night.
The Ruins! (flashback)[]
After traveling through the Forest of Teeth for some time, Daidan, Kai, and Fuzz came across a ruined village that was home to a Monster pig. When they were detected by the creature, Kai fought back to defend them, but Daidan was still too weak from her injuries to help. To make matters worse, the flying monsters returned and took advantage of Daidan's injured state to attack and carry her off to a distant mountain.
Queen of Monsters! (flashback)[]
Daidan was taken to the lair of the Queen of Monsters, where the latter began to feed on the dragon's life force. When Kai and Bolsen stormed the cave to save her, Daidan cried out for her allies to stay back and not to come any closer, though her pleas fell upon deaf ears. Once the Queen was slain, Daidan accompanied Kai outside the cave and the pair continued searching for a way to escape from the Land of Monsters.
