Synopsis

Synopsis[]

When Wyldfyre discovers Kai's journals, she uncovers the shocking truth about his time in the Land of Monsters. Armed with only his wits, a sword and his new friend Daidan the dragon, Kai must survive in a place where even the plants want to kill him – and where a strange little creature reveals an ability that could change everything…[1]

Plot

Plot[]

Kai began to tell Wyldfyre about his time in the Land of Monsters, utilizing drawings as visual cues for his story.

After defeating the Gimon-Ogu, Kai traveled across the Land of Monsters alongside Daidan, though one day they were attacked by a horde of flying monsters. During the battle, Daidan was greatly injured and plummeted to the ground below, taking Kai with her. When he regained consciousness, Kai rushed to Daidan's side to assess if she was alright. Annoyed by the question, Daidan snapped that she was not okay and that ninja were supposed to be observant. Nevertheless, she reassured Kai that she would be fine after a few moments of rest.

At that moment, Kai heard a voice crying out from the surrounding forest. As he turned in the direction of the cry, Kai spotted a small insect like monster fleeing from a long, wooden tentacle while crying for help. The small monster was soon captured and Kai rushed off to provide assistance. As he ran after the small monster, Kai discovered that the entire forest was alive, being composed of plant-like monsters! Although he attempted to fight back with Fire, Kai discovered to his dismay that the forest was fireproof and he would have to fight the old fashioned way with his blade instead.

Fortunately, the plant monsters were not at all resistant to cutting, and Kai was able to swiftly dispatch the one that had captured the small monster in one quick swipe of his sword. The small monster then thanked Kai for his help and offered to provide assistance, hopping atop of Kai's back before connecting its antennae into Kai's head, imbuing him with newfound power. With the power granted by the small monster, Kai effortlessly cut his way through the Forest of Teeth, slicing his way back to Daidan. After reuniting with Daidan, the group continued to traverse through the forest and Fuzz detached himself from Kai. After detaching, Kai mumbled that he wasn't feeling that good and caught a glimpse of his right hand, which seemed to now be glowing with a sickly green color. Fuzz insisted that this was an injury Kai had sustained during his cutting of the Forest of Teeth and that he would get better soon. In response, Kai only hoped that Fuzz was right before suggesting to his companions that they ought to seek shelter for the night, unaware that a hooded figure was watching from behind.

At the conclusion of Kai's story, Wyldfyre expressed how awesome it sounded to her and asked why he had chosen to hide these stories from the other ninja. In reply, Kai warned her that this was only the beginning of his story.
