Coming of the Crystal King

The Coming of the Crystal King was a ritual held by the Council of the Crystal King in the Crystal Temple in order to resurrect the Overlord into a mortal vessel.

Prelude[]

After her death and resurrection following the Liberation of Ninjago, Harumi, the former Jade Princess, was appointed by the Overlord to serve as his herald. Following his commands, Harumi spent the next few years carrying out the Overlord's orders and making the necessary preparations for his return. One year after the Great Flood, the time had arrived and Harumi was ordered to assemble an army of the Ninja's enemies, forming them together as the Council of the Crystal King. All that were needed now were the Golden Weapons and so the newly formed Council were dispatched to steal them from the Monastery of Spinjitzu.

Fall of the Monastery[]

Four members of the Council of the Crystal King - Pythor, Vangelis, Aspheera, and The Mechanic - infiltrated the Monastery of Spinjitzu. Thanks to Aspheera's knowledge of the monastery and its layout, the Council were able to enter its Hangar bay discreetly through a secret tunnel and elevator. Confronted by Wu, P.I.X.A.L., Skylor, and Nya, a massive battle broke out that ultimately ended in a victory for the Council who seized the Golden Weapons and returned with them to the Crystal Island.

The Ritual[]

Returning with the powerless Golden Weapons, Harumi instructed the Council to follow her to the chamber that housed the Central crystal, dragging along an imprisoned Lloyd with them. While the Council members placed the weapons atop of crystalline pedestals, Harumi defended her actions against Lloyd's protests and commanded Aspheera to use her Magic to begin. As Aspheera began to chant, the central crystal started to glow and pulsate with her words. The Golden Weapons themselves became encrusted with crystals and the power of Darkness infused into them, releasing energies back into the central crystal. Harumi then called out to the Crystal King, calling for him to follow her voice. With a final pulse of energy, the dark shape of a horned being formed and began to emerge from the crystal. Evil laughter now filled the room as the being stepped out and touched the ground. The Overlord had finally returned, stronger than before, as the Crystal King.
