History[]

Background[]

The Howlers came into existence as a sinister repercussion for those who abused djinn artifacts. Once set free, the curse sentenced its victims to an unyielding chase by the Howlers, whose sole purpose was to drain their life energy. With unwavering resolve, the Howlers would not only hunt down the person accountable for the artifact's misuse, but also everyone near them across various realms and beyond. They can only be stopped by being wished away or defeated by a djinn.

The Last Djinn[]

After mishandling the Seeker Stones, Nya and Sora found themselves cursed and subsequently targeted by the Howlers. Despite the presence of Riyu, Zanth, and Jiro, the group was outmatched by the curse. In a desperate bid for safety, the ninja and dragons were compelled to retreat to the secure confines of Arrakore's sanctum. However, the Howlers managed to trace their whereabouts, resulting in Arrakore falling victim to the curse as well. The Howlers effortlessly evaded the dragons and ninja's attacks, reaffirming their dominance. However, a newfound glimmer of hope ignited within Arrakore, compelling him to harness wish magic and ultimately vanquish the Howlers, thereby breaking the curse that had befallen them.

Abilities[]

• Flight/Levitation - Howlers are able to fly. As they also lacks legs.
• Sonic Scream - Howlers are able to generate a powerful scream, enough to knock a dragon back.
• Soul absorption - Howlers' sole purpose was to drain their life energy on those who misuse Djinn artifacts.
• Superhuman strength/Combat - Howlers are formidable in combat and super strong as they broke through Nya's Spinjitzu and briefly knocked out Sora.

• Djinjagan Magic - Howlers can be erased by Djinjagan Magic.

Trivia[]

• Their face prints are near-identical to those used on the Ghost Warriors minifigures seen in Ninjago: Legacy, only they are blue instead of green.
  • Their torso design is also based on the body print of the Ghost Warriors minifigures from Ninjago: Legacy, but with different colors, like Harumi as the Kabuki mask.
    • Harumi's figure having been released as a minifigure in 2026, her torso is the closest existing part to the Howlers's torso.
• Howlers are similar to Dementors from the Harry Potter series as well as the Soul Suckers, as they are all ghost-like creatures that have the ability to extract life force.
• Shatterspin has the potential to surpass the Howlers depending on how effectively it is used.^[1]
