Arrakore

Overview

“You may be right! When I lost my land, I lost all hope. Hope is what I needed most!”
— Arrakore to Sora, "The Last Djinn"

Arrakore is a djinn and one of the few known inhabitants of Djinjago to escape from its destruction. After having his hope brought back by the Ninja, he began a campaign to restore his home with his wish magic once more.

History

History[]

Background[]

Long ago, he befriended a Djinjagan dragon named Zanth, whom he rode with during the Battle of Two Skies.[1]

Prior to the destruction of Djinjago and its sister realm, the Cursed Realm, Arrakore was in another realm on a long quest. Upon his return, he discovered the ruins of Djinjago and was able to salvage a single grain of sand from his kingdom, securing it in a bottle-shaped necklace. After the Merge, he took shelter in a cave. Aware he couldn't use his magic anymore and there was nothing he could do to restore his homeland, he lost all hope and became pessimistic.

Dragons Rising, Season 1[]

The Last Djinn[]

Arrakore noticed Nya, Sora, Riyu, Jiro, and Zanth entering his home and tried to shoo them away by dramatically introducing himself as a powerful being, but instead hit his head on a stalactite. He quickly noticed Zanth, who Nya and Sora thought was also named Sora. Zanth runs right to him and affectionately licks him despite being aware how ticklish he is.

Arrakore explained to Nya and Sora they were cursed for misusing a set of Seeker Stones, thus summoning some Howlers who will haunt them until they have drained their energy, and the only way to defeat them was with djinn wish magic, which is no longer existent. When the Howlers found their location, Nya and Sora asked Arrakore for help on defeating them, but the djinn first declined. But upon realizing hope is what he needed most, he helped the two defeat the Howlers by using their wishes, which also caused the grain of sand to grow larger.

They Call It Doom[]

After spending some time with Sora, Zanth, Jiro, Riyu and Nya, it was time to say goodbye. Shortly before they left, Arrakore granted Nya's wish to find an object by creating a compass which would show them their way. The wish caused the grain of sand to grow more.

Dragons Rising, Season 3[]

Fallen Wishes[]

Arrakore continued to grant wishes which allowed Djinjago to return and bigger than before. He refused to grant Dareth's wish to be a Spinjitzu master due to it both being a bad idea and the limitations of his powers. Rox and the Dragonians arrived to force him to fix the yellow Prismatic Blade. Arrakore refused to comply due to knowing the dangers of the blade. Rox threatened to use a triangular prison to make him her servant but he tricked Rox into wishing the Ninja were here. However, he only summoned Nya, Sora, and Riyu. Sora tried to wish for Rox and her allies to disappear, but Arrakore was too weak to grant a big wish and was forced to grant small wishes. Rox managed to break free and sneak up on Arrakore to imprison him in the triangle, forcing him to repair the Prismatic Blade and freeze the Ninja. Due to the amount of wishes granted, Djinjago was able to regenerate further. Sora realized Arrakore's prison is tech, so she used her Technology to break it, allowing him to escape. Unfortunately, Rox and the others still retreated with the blade.

For Whom the Bell Tolls[]

Arrakore appears and greets Frak, Sora, Wyldfyre, Riyu, and Zanth. When Arrakore notices Zanth, Arrakore realized that his work to expand Djinjago would have amazing results but he didn't realize it would infuse a Djinjagan Dragon with such energy. Unknown to Arrakore, Rapton and the Freebooters were flying to Djinjago.

When Doves Cry[]

Arrakore shows Zanth a banner mount which is similar to the one he wielded when they rode into the Battle of Two Skies. Arrakore offers some tea, but Sora tells him that they are here because they need to go to the Cave of Bells to wake up half of the Arc Dragon of Focus. Arrakore tells Sora the only reason to wake the Focus Arc Dragon is to fight Thunderfang, which seeing their faces Arrakore realized that they were being serious. Arrakore says it is fortunate that Thunderfang didn't die and went to the Spectral Lands, where his power could also be magnified, which he realized that also had happened. Fortunately, Arrakore manage to restore enough of Djinjago so the Cave of Bells is back but there is no half-dragon in it, which Arrakore explains that his wish magic isn't very strong enough to bring back living things like the Arc Dragon or his people. So he had to settle for reviving his people's cultural artifacts, like the pottery. When Sora notices a pottery with a face, Arrakore grabs it and tells her Delilah doesn't want to be moved, which he tells them it gets pretty lonely. Sora thinks his magic need the right motivation like saving the world, and wishes for the Arc Dragon of Focus to be restored, which Arrakore attempts to do but is unable to grant it. Arrakore sees Zanth and thinks with her new boost of Djinjagan magic, if the two work together, the two might have enough power to grant the wish but it will take time and complete concentration, which means no distractions even loud noises that could destroy their focus and ruin the wish.

After Arrakore and Zanth went into the Cave of Bells, Rapton and the Freebooters arrived to steal some treasure. As Arrakore tried to concentrate, he heard noises which unknown to him was Frak, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Riyu were fighting Rapton and the Freebooters from stealing Arrakore's treasure, which Rapton escape stealing a rare Djinjagan unicorn figurine for his collection.

Chaos Reigns[]

As Sora, Frak, Wyldfyre and Riyu exits the Cave of Bells following Thunderfang's ultimate defeat, they stumble upon Zanth resting beside Arrakore.

Appearance

Appearance[]

Like all djinns, Arrakore has four arms and a mist-like tail. He has red skin and long white hair tied in a ponytail by a gray scrunchie, in addition to black eyebrows and a small mustache and goatee. His attire consists of copper and orange armor under a blue-gray robe with four sleeves and tawny trims and tied by a dark brown cloth. He carries a sand from Djinjago in a bottle-shaped necklace. The necklace was a blue bottle with a single range grain of sand, which became an orange and red rock.

Powers and abilities

Powers and abilities[]

  • Djinn physiology: As a djinn from Djinjago, Arrakore's powers are unmatched compared to the people of Ninjago. He also has the following abilities:
    • Wish Magic - Thanks to the Djinjago sand and Sora restoring his hope, Arrakore can utilize his wish magic for others. Unlike Nadakhan, who decides to twist the wish in a cruel way, he grants them exactly as the person wanted, which benefits them. When Djinjago was destroyed, a loophole was created for Arrakore's wish magic, allowing him to grant wishes without restrictions imposed by djinn laws,[2] even though he cannot grant himself any wishes (this restriction can only be overcome by a djinn prince when he becomes king by marrying in his homeland)[3] and can't fulfill wishes that exceed power of his wish magic,[1][4] whose power depends on Djinjago's condition.
      • Weapon creation - He can create weapons if someone's wish involves them.
      • World Restoration - By granting wishes, Arrakore can restore his home realm Djinjago piece by piece.
      • Resurrection - By combining his magic with another being, such as Zanth, Arrakore was able to resurrect the tan half of the Arc Dragon of Focus though the process exhausted them both. Also Arrakore needs to concentrate with no distractions.
    • Flight/Levitation - Like other djinns, Arrakore can fly and float in mid-air.
    • Teleportation - As a djinn, he can teleport to anywhere he desires.
    • Longevity - Arrakore can live for millennia.
  • Fighting Skills - Arrakore has some degree of fighting, being able to hold his own against the Howlers.
  • Cooking - Arrakore has some experience in cooking during his time in his sanctum.[5]
  • Singing - Arrakore has some experience in singing during his time in his sanctum.[5]
  • Memory - As Arrakore lived for a long time he has knowledge of artifacts and creatures. He was aware of what the Yellow Prismatic Blade can do, what the Arc Dragon of Focus can defeat, and what happens if Thunderfang was sent to the Spectral Lands.
  • Multilingualism - He is able to understand either all or some other languages perfectly, like dragon language, making him able to grant wishes made in them, as seen in "Fallen Wishes" when Riyu made a wish to him.
Weaknesses

Weaknesses[]

  • Overexertion - If he goes too far, Arrakore would tire himself to the point of passing out. This weakness has a tendency to reduce the more wishing power Arrakore gets from the growing Djinjago, which grows with every wish Arrakore grants.
  • Emotional state (formerly) - Because hope and wishing are connected, he couldn't use his magic when he lost any hope until Sora helped him.
  • Connection to Djinjago (formerly) - Djinjago is the source of all djinn magic and because of its destruction except a grain of sand in a bottle, Arrakore couldn't use his magic until the grain turned into a rock. Even when Djinjago was much bigger than before, it was nowhere near its former glory.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • Arrakore's jigsaw puzzle of the puppy with dynamite in his mouth is the same picture Killow can be seen painting in "Questing for Quests."
  • Arrakore is very ticklish to the point where he tells Zanth not to lick him.
  • Unlike the royal house of Djinjago, his skin is red instead of orange.
    • It is currently unknown if orange and red are the only skin colors of djinns or if they could have other skin colors that have not yet been revealed.
  • Arrakore is the first djinn introduced in the franchise to physically appear in more than one season.
  • Arrakore's wish magic differs from Nadakhan's. This is because there are several levels of wish magic,[6] due to the connection has a djinn with Djinjago and wish magic[2][7][8] and wish magic is heavily dependent on the Djinn who uses.[9] Furthermore, the reason Nadakhan had such powerful wish magic during the events of Skybound was because the Djinn Blade amplified his wish magic.[9]
    • Before Arrakore could use his wish magic freely, he was bound by the restrictions of a djinn law that limited him to grant three wishes and prevented him from granting wishes for love, harm, or more wishes.[10][note 1]
    • When asked if Arrakore has the potential to unlock infinite wishes due to being the last Djinn, Chris "Doc" Wyatt replied, "Hm."[11]
  • When asked if Arrakore would bring back the inhabitants of Djinjago, as there was hope for the restoration of the realm, Chris "Doc" Wyatt stated that although Arrakore has the ability to do so, he couldn't reveal whether or not the inhabitants will actually be revived.[12][13]
    • In "For Whom the Bell Tolls", it's confirmed Arrakore does have the ability to bring back the dead. However, he (by himself) is currently still unable to bring dead beings back to life. Only with the help of Zanth's own Djinjagan magic and a lot of concentration is he able to do so, such as when he brought back the half of the Arc Dragon of Focus resting in Djinjago back to life. However, the process left both him and Zanth completely exhausted.
  • Arrakore's design was slightly changed in season 3, with his djinn tail redesigned to closely match the djinns from the original series.
  • When asked if Arrakore is the last Djinn and if it meant that Nadakhan is dead, Chris "Doc Wyatt" states that it just meant that Arrakore is unaware of the whereabouts of surviving Djinn and thus assumes that they are all dead.[14]

  1. The restrictions on wish magic imposed by a djinn law are explained by Clancee during Nadakhan's wedding in The Way Back. Furthermore, Chris "Doc" Wyatt confirmed that the Djinns had restrictions in place, before the destruction of Djinjago, to prevent wish magic from being abused.[2]
