The realm medallion is an ancient artifact that depicts all seventeen Realms of Creation and how they are linked.
History

Prior to Dragons Rising, Season 4[]
At some point in time, Ed found the realm medallion under a pile of junk. His wife Edna and their son Jay brought it to Ray's Blacksmith shop for examination. Unable to determine its origins or its meaning, they sought Wu's help to deduce the mystery and the latter revealed it to them as an ancient artifact that depicted all the realms. Ray questioned what the lines on the artifact were supposed to mean and Wu informed him that they indicated how each of the realms were linked, stating that according to the legend, they all share a connection and a story even suggested something could pull them all together. Wu told them that the legend also says if a location in each realm was the same or identical, the realms could collide and be balanced in unity.
At a later point in time, Wu most likely hid the medallion in a pillar of his study. When Lloyd obtained the Icon of the Source Dragon of Motion, he hid it in the same pillar with the medallion.
When Doves Cry[]
After defeating Geo, Rontu, and Alfonzo Frohicky in the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Ras went to Wu's study and stole the medallion along with the Icon of the Source Dragon of Motion.
Dangerous Connections[]
Lloyd’s "ghost" form led Jay to the Monastery's library and showed him that the legendary artifact was missing. Later in the Monastery of the Gates, Ras approaches a captured Wu alongside the stolen medallion.

- Despite being said to depict all 17 realms, it has 20 symbols, though the reason for this is unknown.
- Assuming the 16 symbols around the medallion represent the realms, it is still unknown what the symbols in the center represent.
- This may be a reference to "Enkrypted," where Nadakhan's father Khanjikhan tells him about how the balance is related to the realms, in which the destruction of one realm results in the destruction of another (in that case the Cursed Realm/The Preeminent is connected to her sister realm Djinjago).
