Overview
Creation is an elemental essence in the Merged Realms.[2] It is comprised of the four main elements: Fire, Lightning, Ice, and Earth. It is closely connected to Golden Power,[3] is the opposite of Destruction, and serves as the foundation that Darkness feeds on to grow.[4] It is associated with the colors gold, white, and yellow and corresponds with the Golden Weapons, the Mega Weapon, the Golden Armor, the Tornado of Creation, Master Wu's dragon, the Dragon Forms and the Golden Ultra Dragon.
Users' abilities
Users' abilities[]
- Fabricakinesis - The user can manipulate the very concept of creation.
- Creation - The user can produce something either out of nothing or from existing sources.
- Dimensiogenesis/Realmgenesis - The user can create dimensions and realms.
- Circumigenesis/Terraforming - The user can also create environments or change it into an entirely new one since the First Spinjitzu Master was credited with creating all of Ninjago and everything around it.
- Vivogenesis - The user can create life.
- Martial Arts Creation/Intuition - The user can possibly create their own martial arts and have mastery over them.
- Antikeímenogenesis - The user can create inanimate objects/items.
- Dragon Creation - The user can create a Creation Dragon.
- Materiokinesis - The user can manipulate both organic and inorganic matter for multiple purposes. Using the four main elements (as demonstrated with the Tornado of Creation), materials and objects (possibly even their properties) can be absorbed/collected and combined to form a new object (which can be of great size, as demonstrated when the Tornado of Creation built a massive Ferris Wheel out of bones, a gigantic slingshot, and the Ultra Sonic Raider). The user (or users) can, as Master Wu said while describing the Tornado of Creation, "create something, out of nothing."
- Materiogenesis - The user can also create organic or inorganic matter from nothing or create anything he or she wants, even souls or life, either as finished objects or simply unfinished elements; the user has the power to make it a reality, including any object, as demonstrated by Garmadon when he created the Colossus with his True Potential.
- Object Enhancement - The user can possibly enhance objects and their properties/qualities.
- Construct Creation - Users can change anything into tools, objects, weapons, and other items and create structures/buildings of varying permanence. The users who have mastered this ability can use it for almost any situation, creating anything they need. Garmadon used this technique to aid his True Potential when creating the Colossus.
- Matterification - Users are capable of transmuting matter into different forms. They are able to create and absorb matter and energy, shape, and rebuild it into anything of their choosing. It is possible for them to transmute elements in matter.
- Matter Melding - Users can cause separate and distinct items to combine into one new item. Some can fuse multiple different elements to make one new. This ability can extend to morphing and reshaping existing matter on physical contact.
- Regeneration/Object Restoration - The user can regenerate destroyed matter and restore objects, such as when Garmadon used the Golden Weapons to repair the Destiny’s Bounty as the Black Bounty in "Darkness Shall Rise".
- Elementokinesis - The user can manipulate and create the basic elements of nature (Fire, Earth, Lightning, and Ice), due to Creation comprising them.
- Materio-Ergokinesis - Users can manipulate creative energy.
- Energy Channeling - The user can channel energy for a variety of purposes.
- Ergokinetic Wave Emission - The user can release a wave of energy that sends opponents flying.
- Ergokinetic Infusion - The user can infuse themselves or an object with energy to increase the strength of their blows.
- Energy Contact - It is possible for some users to physically touch the energy they create and treat it as if it were a solid object without being physically harmed.
- Mirakinesis - The user can create, generate, and manipulate illusions realistic enough that those who enter them through a portal will believe what they see is real.
- Pylikinesis - As seen throughout "The Virtues of Spinjitzu", the user appears to be able to manipulate and open portals that transport others through different dimensions of their illusions.
- Creation - The user can produce something either out of nothing or from existing sources.
Abilities via Mega Weapon[]
After forging the four Golden Weapons into the Mega Weapon, Garmadon was able to use Creation to access a variety of different abilities:
- Wish Manifestation - As demonstrated by Garmadon using the Mega Weapon, the user has the ability to grant themselves wishes, as long as they don't destroy anything.
- Duplication - By granting himself wishes, Garmadon was able to use Creation to create evil doppelgängers of the Ninja and duplicate the original ninjas' elemental powers as well.
- Material Duplication - Much like how the evil ninja were created as duplicates of the original, the materials of their clothes were also made into duplicates.
- Elementokinesis - Since the Mega Weapon was made from the Four Golden Weapons, it allowed its user to manipulate the Elements of Creation (Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Earth), along with other secondary elements. This could be accomplished by granting wishes to themselves.
- Chronokinesis - By granting himself wishes, Garmadon was able to use the Mega Weapon to manipulate Time.
- Time Portal Creation - As demonstrated by Garmadon using the Mega Weapon, the user has the ability to open a portal that allows them to travel through time. This can be accomplished by granting oneself wishes through the Mega Weapon.
- Temporal Rewind - The Mega Weapon has the ability to rewind time.
- Temporal Resurrection - By granting himself wishes through the Mega Weapon, Garmadon used Creation to turn back time and resurrect the Grundle to hunt the Ninja.
- Age Reversal - The Mega Weapon can reverse people’s age, as seen when the Ninja got caught in Garmadon’s process of reviving the Grundle and were turned back into children.
- Chronokinesis - By granting himself wishes, Garmadon was able to use the Mega Weapon to manipulate Time.
- Memory Erasure - As demonstrated when the Mega Weapon was destroyed, it was able to erase the memory of anyone who wasn't present at its destruction. However, beings that have abilities such as the Serpentine or the Overlord weren't affected by the memory wipe as demonstrated when the Serpentine remembered Garmadon had a Mega Weapon and the Overlord knew that once the Ninja destroyed Garmadon's Mega Weapon, it ended up on a comet in space.
- Duplication - By granting himself wishes, Garmadon was able to use Creation to create evil doppelgängers of the Ninja and duplicate the original ninjas' elemental powers as well.
- Power Drain - The Mega Weapon has an unfortunate side effect of draining the wielder’s power whenever it is used, as seen with Garmadon.
- Disintegration - The Mega Weapon's powers can disintegrate anyone who doesn't have elemental powers. This is seen when the weapon disintegrated a pirate who tried to steal it from Garmadon[5] and a Nindroid who touched the Mega Weapon fused with the Golden Weapons on the comet.[6] However, if a person has their own elemental powers, the Mega Weapon won't be able to disintegrate them.[7]
Notable uses
Notable uses[]
Prior to the series[]
Creation existed in the First Land as the primary power of the dragons. When the child was born to the Dragon and the Oni and was able to control both, Creation and Destruction, they fought for him until he left the realm. The First Spinjitzu Master then used Creation, increased by the Golden Weapons[8][9] to create a new realm - the realm of Ninjago.[10]. He would later create Imperium[11] and three other realms.[12]
When the sons of the First Spinjitzu Master went to buy tea in Ouroboros, they were attacked by bullies, but they used Spinjitzu for the first time without thinking and defeated the bullies.[13]
Thousands years ago, when Wu and Garmadon went fishing, Wu wanted to go to the Serpentine Valley. However, they were caught by Pyro Vipers and imprisoned. They were freed by a young sorceress, Aspheera, who wanted them to teach her Spinjitzu. Unlike Garmadon, Wu kept his promise and taught her Spinjitzu. However, when she overthrew King Mambo V and wanted to conquer Ninjago, Wu and Garmadon stole the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjitzu from their father, strengthening their powers. Wu then defeated Aspheera with the immense power of the Forbidden Spinjitzu.[14]

When Wu wants to give a lesson to a ninja and asks them to defeat him in a fight, they argue. In response, he jumped into the air and hit his staff on the ground, releasing Creation as a big wave of energy that threw the ninja on the ground.
A Cold Goodbye[]
When realizing the ninja have stolen his Traveler's Tea, Wu takes the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu and waits for them in the hangar bay. When they refuse to give him the tea, he attacks them with the power of Creation but is defeated by the ninja.
The Virtues of Spinjitzu[]
Wu using his power of Creation
Wu uses Creation to create illusions to test the ninja on the six Virtues of Spinjitzu. After the thought of being captured by a large dragon, the ninja travel through portals to places they have been to, such as the Pyramid, the Speedway Five-Billion, the Castle of Ice, the Dungeons of Shintaro, and the Island of the Keepers. Once the ninja learn of all the virtues and realize this was a test by Wu, he uses Creation to dispatch his illusion.

Trivia
Trivia[]
The Trivia on Creation needs to be organized.
|
- In the pilot episodes, Wu performed actions that have been misconceived as genuine usage of Creation. In actuality, they were not.
- He merely changed the ninja's clothing at incredible speed when he first gave them their starting ninja outfits, rather than creating the suits from scratch or using Spinjitzu.[16]
- He appeared to have pulled a teacup from thin air as an example of what Creation could do, but he did not create the teacup.[17]
- According to Tommy Andreasen, the reason Wu rarely uses Creation is that "power must be used with care. Wu is wise and knows not to overuse."[18]
- According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt "Creation is powerful, but at what cost?"[19] This implies that it could be dangerous for Wu to use Creation.
- Excluding the use of his Spinjitzu and Elemental Dragon, Wu first used Creation in "Wasted True Potential".
- Through it was through Wu's Spinjitzu, Creation is technically the first Elemental essence (and Elemental Power) to be seen in the entire franchise.
- Creation originated in the First Land, specifically being the main power of the dragons of said realm. It and Destruction were the only powers to be used by mortals, predating every other Elemental Power.[20]
- Contrary to popular belief, Creation is not an element—it is an elemental essence, like Destruction.[2]
- Dragons are born with the power of Creation.[1]
- When the Overlord became the Golden Master and had the power of the Four Golden Weapons, it is possible that he had the power of Creation.
- The power of Creation can be credited as being able to create entire landmasses, as the First Spinjitzu Master demonstrated.
- While in March of the Oni, Creation resembles a golden fire, but in Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, it resembles a golden lightning. It is unknown whether it is just a choice of design, or whether Creation can take the form of all the elements of Creation.
- Although Creation is generally associated with gold, when Garmadon used it with his True Potential, it's purple like Destruction, his primary elemental essence. This is possibly because his his Creation is linked with with his dominant Destruction.
- The Spinjitzu tornado of Creation changed during the show. While in pilot episodes, it was a very shiny chrome gold. Since Rise of the Snakes, it had a more orange color without its shine. From Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu to Seabound, it was a milky golden yellow with a more cartoonish look, just like the other tornadoes in the WildBrain animation. In Crystalized, it was bright yellow and retained its cartoonish look.
- Previously, the exact relationship between Golden Power and Creation was unclear. Tommy Andreasen said to "Think of golden as creation,"[21] but when later asked if they were the same, he said, "Can’t get into that. Too complicated."[22] Both Tommy Andreasen and Chris “Doc” Wyatt would later confirm that Golden Power and Creation are indeed related.[23][3]
- Within the show, there are examples where both essences seem to be accessed by combining Fire, Lightning, Ice and Earth, with Golden Power being obtained at a higher-level of power:
- Lloyd was only able to access the Golden Dragon in "Island of Darkness" and eventually fully awaken the Golden Power in "Rise of the Spinjitzu Master" after the original Ninja gave him their Elements of Creation and true potentials in the former episode. Consequently, Lloyd lost the Golden Power after he gave the Ninja their powers back in "Codename: Arcturus"
- In "The Titanium Ninja", the Overlord was able to forge the Golden Armor to from the Golden Weapos (which had the power of Creation) to be obtain the Golden Power.
- In "The Way Back", when the four original Ninja combined their Elements of Creation with Lloyd's Energy to blow away a door, the resulting blast looked like Golden Power. Similarly, after the Golden Armor is reforged back into the Golden Weapons in "Endings", the four Ninja use the weapons and their own powers alongside Wu's own Creation, Garmadon's Destruction, Lloyd's Energy and Nya's Water to create a Tornado of Creation more powerful than normal that instantly defeated the Oni and spread a wave of what appeared to be Golden Power across the realms to purify them of the Oni's dark cloud.
- In "Roots", the ninja combined their and the Golden Weapons' powers to form the Golden Ultra Dragon, which Lloyd used to defeat the Overlord.
- Within the show, there are examples where both essences seem to be accessed by combining Fire, Lightning, Ice and Earth, with Golden Power being obtained at a higher-level of power:
- It has never been explicitly stated that Lloyd possesses the elemental essence of Creation but he has dragon blood, had inherited the power of Destruction from his father, and once held the might of Golden Power.
- In the past, Lloyd used the four main elemental powers,[24] which formed Creation, perhaps indicating that he used Creation.
- Since Dragons, like the Oni, are born with their power, and since Lloyd did inherit the power of Destruction from his father, is possible that he also inherited Creation, though it is recessive like his Destruction and Garmadon's own Creation.
- When asked if Creation comes from the same four Source Dragons as the elements that comprise it, Chris "Doc" Wyatt stated, "Not exactly".[25]
- Wu could use all four weapons to increase his Creation powers, so long as he could handle all of them at once, something his father had always forbidden him to do.[9]
