The fourth season of Ninjago: Dragons Rising is preceded by Season 3 and Crossroads' Crosstalk. Lloyd and the Arc Dragon of Life serve as the mascot characters, the Chief Loyalist and Beatrix serve as the main antagonists, and the Elemental Monsters and Loyalists serve as the villainous factions.

Lloyd and the Arc Dragon of Life are the mascot characters and the setting is based on the Whispering Wood. The collectible item for this season is the Weapon of Desolation.

  • According to Kevin Burke, this season's theme is "connection."[6]
  • In June of 2025, Bethany Brown shared an image on a currently unavailable Instagram story confirming that voice acting for this season has been finished.[7]
  • According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, this season will reveal more about Lloyd's Elemental Power.[8]
  • Chris "Doc" Wyatt confirmed that the season will be darker than the previous season.[9]
  • At San Diego Comic Con, it was stated that the season will push the ninja to more emotional places and explore more of the Merged Realms.[10][11]
    • It was also announced there that Arin, Sora, Frak and Wyldfyre will have their chance to shine and interact more with each other during the season.[10][11]
  • This season will indirectly explain how Elemental Masters of Balance elements, such as Kizzy, Obscuria, and Skylor, retained their powers after the Source Dragon of Balance's death.[12]
  • The opening sequence's song, "The Merged Whip," was first hinted at during the 2025 San Diego Comic Con, and first heard during an Okoo Tv spot.
  • The main poster for the season marks the first time that all six original Ninja have appeared in a poster together as Ninja in Ninjago: Dragons Rising and the first time since Seabound.
    • This is also the first time all old and current members of the team are on one poster as Ninja. Except P.I.X.AL. for some reason.
    • Additionally, this is the first poster released for a season to not feature Ras on the first poster for the season as he was on the first posters for Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3.
  • Although they are simply younger variants of Lloyd, this season marks the first time Jillian Michaels has voiced Lloyd in Ninjago: Dragons Rising, and the first time since Season 7: The Hands of Time that she has voiced the character in some capacity.
    • Additionally, this marks the first time that Jillian has voiced Lloyd with his redesign, albeit in child and tween forms.
    • This is the first time since Season 14: Seabound where both Sam Vincent and Jillian Michaels provided voices in the same season.
    • This is also Jillian Michaels' first speaking role in Ninjago: Dragons Rising.
  • Towards the end of the intro, Lloyd's silhouette after unleashing his power depicts him in his Ghost Hunter suit.
  • On April 1, 2026, writers Kevin Burke and Chris "Doc" Wyatt each made a two truths and one lie post as a sneak peek at the season on Bluesky.
    • Burke's three statements were:
      • Cole will be judged by a new friend who won't speak to him.
      • Zane will dance with squirrels.
      • Frak will eat pies from a shrub.[13]
        • The second line is a lie, as Cole starts talking to a smiley face in his prison cell in "Dying to Live", and Frak can be seen eating pies from a shrub in "The Lean of a Tree".
