Before the Merge, Ras came to Imperium and assisted Empress Beatrix to gain control of the kingdom by assassinating her father, becoming the leader of the Claws of Imperium afterwards. Despite being a capable commander and a highly professional warrior, he has failed to stop Arin, Sora, and Lloyd from freeing and escaping with the dragons Imperium had captured. Consequently, Ras was stripped of his title as leader of the Claws and imprisoned for his failures by Empress Beatrix, who now decided to do the job herself. During the MergeQuake Storm, Ras managed to escape his cell and, in the aftermath, recruited Jordana for her achievement in extracting energy from a Source Dragon on behalf of his master.
Attending the Tournament of the Sources, Master Ras recruited the amnesiac Jay, deceiving the latter in the process, and Arin's old friend, Frak beforehand to teach them how to win the tournament. After both combatants lost, he casted them aside while also telling Arin about how Master Wu was responsible for the Merge before watching Nokt defeat Sora and prepared to take over the Merged Realms. However, Nokt betrayed Ras and released the rest of the Forbidden Five, until his seized powers were taken from him, forcing them to retreat to the Cloud Kingdom portal gate with the tiger dragged along when he attempted to intervene. Ras ended up in the First Land alongside Arin after the gate was destroyed, and the latter helped nurse Ras back to health with intentions of finding hisparents.
For several weeks, Ras trained Arin, who took care of him while he was in a bad state. After Ras' condition got worse, Arin carried him to the Spectral Lands, where he found the Well of the Lost and used its healing elixir to save Ras from dying. Ras then took Arin to a mysterious graveyard and showed him the tombstones of his parents, explaining that he can bring them back by reversing the Merge as they could alter reality during that process. Both of them travelled to the World Forest and found out the information they needed from the Spirit of the Temple, before encountering the ninja. Ras was soon kidnapped by the Forbidden Five, who took him to the Storm Village, where Ras had his final showdown with Nokt before being saved by Arin and the Forbidden Five released Thunderfang. After the Shatter Dragon got defeated, Ras left the ninja with Arin and also Sora, who joined them, to continue their quest to reverse the Merge.
Ras took Arin and Sora to the Forge of the Forgotten, where he revealed his true intentions of sacrificing Sora to forge a Source Dragon Icon. Arin realized that Ras was manipulating him by giving little information and left with Sora to reunite with the ninja. Ras then killed an unknown mortal to forge a Source Dragon Icon and fought his way out of the Underworld. With the ninja spread throughout the Merged Lands to awaken the Arc Dragon of Focus, Ras resumed his master's plans, eventually using the portal gates to arrive at the Monastery of Spinjitzu. There, he sought out Wu's research after defeating Alfonzo Frohicky, Geo, and Rontu. After trapping Wu in a protective container, Ras tampered with the portal gates, dispersing the ninja to the most remote corners of the Merged Lands, all the while turning the portals off so the ninja couldn't use them to return. In the following days, he obtained a new Source Dragon Icon.
Lord Ras is a humanoid tiger with black fur and pink stripes all over his body. On the face, these stripes are only in the forehead area and under his red eyes, which are surrounded by gray fur that resemble eyebrows. He also has four large white fangs protruding from his mouth. His chin hair is braided into a small black braid akin to a beard and he has three white claws on his feet. On certain occasions such as during the Blood Moon, or when he is empowered by his master, all of his pink stripes change color to red along with his hands and he gains extra strength. As a result of his battle with Nokt following the return of the Forbidden Five, Ras attained a scar over the left side of his face.
As a child, Ras wore a simple purple kimono with pink trims, his name written in pink in Ninjargon, and a red suit underneath in addition to purple pants. He also didn't have his chin hair braided as it was too short.
As an adult, Ras wore the traditional attire of his tribe until he joined Imperium. It is composed of a gray kimono that left his entire right side exposed, had gold ornamental trims, and was tied with a simple tan cloth.
When Ras became part of Imperium, he began to wear sleeveless red robes with gold detailing that is tied by a red belt with golden symbols and a gold and red buckle. He wore a sleeveless gray suit under his robes and gold hexagonal plating that covered his black pants, in addition to black boots with gold detailing. He also wore golden gauntlets and a large golden armor that covers his neck and shoulders.
When Ras became leader of the Wolf Clan, he switched to a black kimono with gray trims under a dark purple sash with silver symbols and light blue edges complete with a new dark purple armor and gloves. His boots have gray and light blue detailing and his new kimono has a plating of the same blue color that bears the Wolf Clan symbol. The back of his kimono has a large light blue crescent symbol with his name written in silver in Ninjargon. When he is angry or the Blood Moon rises, his stripes and hands turn red.
During the Tournament of the Sources, Ras started wearing gray pants with black markings, including a black belt with light blue crystals and a big brown rope with the same blue crystals on the ends. He also wore crescent-shaped knee pads and two-pronged arm armor of the same blue color, in addition to shoulder pads made of dark gray spikes and joined to two light blue claw-like plating, which have chains connecting a small light gray armor plating and a dark gray circle bearing a silver version of the Wolf Clan symbol on his back. His chest was bare, revealing pink stripes and a six pack.
After defeating some of the Greenbone Warriors and Skulkin, Ras started wearing armor made from their bones. It resembled a ribcage, covering his upper torso, and has bone-like shoulder pads and two large bone-like plates covering his upper chest. He also started wearing the Greenbone Leader's helmet and a skull-like mask that covers his face. However, he was forced to destroy the armor when Geo restrained him using Fusion and later he also removed the mask and the helmet and went back to his former attire.
Personality
Personality[]
“Are you sure you should've told the ninja bratall of that, Lord Ras? Information can be power.”
“And information can be poison. I ommitted some of my intentions, but everything I told him was true. And that truth will poison his mind.”
“And that poison will spread to the other ninja. And drive them all apart.”
Ras is a very manipulative and intimidating tiger humanoid. When he was a child in the Wyldness, Ras was abandoned until he met his master. During the long years they spent together, Ras learned from his master that strength was all that mattered and decided to fulfill his master's plan, even if it took years. As pointed out by Nokt and Rox, Ras is sometimes too blind to see the truth right in front of him, being blinded by the thought of his own cleverness and the perfection of his master's plan. Ras can also be quite prideful and sometimes pick the wrong battles, as he was prepared to fight Nokt (who had just accumulated all of the Elemental Powers in the Tournament of the Sources), Rox (possessing Jordana), and the entire Wolf Clan corrupted by the latter.
Ras preparing to fight his enemies instead of trying to solve their issues in a different way
Ras' main philosophy comes from what his master had taught him, believing that strength is the most important thing in the world and it is the only way to solve any issues and how to become the greatest. As Arin points out, due to this, Ras has anger management issues, as he always tries to solve everything by fighting instead of talking. Ras doesn't care about anyone or anything except for himself, as he sees everyone only as a device for gaining his goals and after having no use for them, he abandons them.
Ras teaching Arin how to become a better ninja
However, Ras still showed some genuine feelings, mostly when his mysterious past is mentioned. His motivation to reverse the Merge seems to come from the loss of his people. He claims that by undoing the Merge, he can alter reality in the process and thus bring his people back, believing that his goals are noble and despite his actions being evil, he thinks it is necessary because every great warrior has to make difficult choices to save those who are dear to them. At some point, he realized that reaching his end goal would be a long, thankless journey, and he developed the belief that needing to be liked is equivalent to weakness; he would do what he felt necessary to be done regardless if he would be hated for it. Despite this, he also seemingly cared for Arin at least a little bit, as he saw himself in the young ninja, a weakling with no master, and tried to help him by teaching him how to be a ferocious warrior. While Arin was mourning the supposed deaths of his parents, Ras tried to comfort him by placing a hand on his shoulder, and later sympathized with Arin's goal of saving his parents, as he also always wanted to save his people. Ras also seemed to be genuinely smiling after Arin defeated Thunderfang, though he groaned once his pupil briefly ran off to celebrate with the ninja.
Over the course of his life, Ras was chased and hated by multiple people or creatures and that led him to believe that his strength attracts opponents who want to eliminate him.
Ras manipulating Princess Beatrix
When he first came to Imperium, he managed to win Princess Beatrix over to his side with lies and then helped her rise to power by ruthlessly murdering her father and later imprisoned the Source Dragon of Energy and started draining its energy. Ras uses intimidation on all his subordinates as a method to get what he wants. Several times, this intimidation even reached physical attacks.
Ras shouting at his underlings
Once he was imprisoned by the Empress, he tried to manipulate her again, telling her that she had no chance of winning without him. When he then managed to escape, he met Jordana, whom he chose as the next person he could manipulate. He revealed to her his true intentions, which is that he serves his true master, to whom he is truly devoted. His devotion is even so great that he considers his mission the only significant thing and sees no possibility of failure.
Ras speaking to his master
A year after leaving Imperium with Jordana, Ras admitted that he hated the culture of the Imperians and their ways of completely ignoring the other realms and thinking they were superior to everyone else. He then opened the Shadow Dojo and welcomed another member of his new army, Cinder. Together with Jordana, he then taught them, Cinder how to properly use Shatterspin and he encouraged Jordana to study the Theroxian scrolls and learn their magic. When they succeeded, Ras was pleased with them, but when they showed signs of displeasure or disappointment, he would become very angry and even physically hurt them.
Ras manipulating Arin
Before the Tournament of the Sources, Ras manipulated Jay into thinking he was his student that fought alongside him before the Merge and that he hated the ninja and also recruited Arin's childhood friend, Frak, to become his champion in the tournament. Although being strict, Frak was amazed by his master's skills and lessons, not knowing about all the evil he had done.
Ras smiling after corrupting Arin
During the Tournament, Ras started to manipulate Arin into thinking the ninja, especially Lloyd, weren't good masters for him. He revealed to Arin his true intentions about wanting to reverse the Merge and also that it had been caused by Master Wu. When asked about this by Rox possessing Jordana, he told her that information, albeit true, could work as poison if put into a right mind, Arin's mind. This manipulation later paid off as Arin abandoned the ninja and saved Ras.
Ras punishing Frak after disobeying him
There seems to be a pattern to Ras' manipulation victims as he only chooses vulnerable, insecure, and heavily naïve people to manipulate. Beatrix, Jordana, Bleckt, Arin, Frak, and Jay all share some of these traits. He always poisons their minds with something he has to offer to fulfill their dreams but in reality, he only sees them as devices to help him achieve his goals. If these victims fail him in any way, he is not hesitant to discard them from his alliance and abandon them.
Ras using his powered-up form
During Arin's training, Ras was very weak from his battle with Nokt but he was still determined to teach Arin his ways of fighting. He constantly repeated to the young ninja how strength is the most important thing and he has to focus on his anger and rage so he can truly access his real powers. Despite Arin saving Ras' life multiple times, he never thanked the ninja because of his nature.
After Sora joined their team, Ras tolerated her despite being annoyed by her but later revealed that he had only allowed her presence so he could use her a sacrifice in the Forge of the Forgotten. He tried to manipulate Arin into thinking it is what's best but the ninja opposed him. Ras then snapped, used his powered-up form, and tried to kill both of them, finally breaking his bond with Arin.

Abilities[]
“Ras is a master manipulator. He could be brainwashing Arin and Arin would have no clue.”
Tiger Physiology: As an anthropomorphic tiger from the Wyldness, Ras has the following abilities:
Night vision: Like many felines, Ras possesses exceptional night vision, enabling sight in dimly lit environments or complete darkness.[1]
Superhuman speed/stamina: In addition to his feline nature, Ras can move at incredibly fast speed for a long time without tiring out, being able to catch up to Arin when the ninja was driving the Explorer away from the Shadow Dojo.
Superhuman durability/endurance: Ras has superhuman levels of durability and endurance, managing to endure Rapton's taser and hits from dragons. In the past, he managed to take on Zeatrix's shockwave attack and leave without showing any signs of exhaustion. He was also able to take several elemental blows from Nokt after the latter had absorbed nearly every Elemental Powers. He was also undamaged after getting repeatedly attacked by several Chaos-empowered Wolf Mask Warriors. Even when critically injured from Nokt's Shatterspin, Ras managed to gather enough strength to walk to the elixir. He took a direct Shatterspin punch to the face by Drix and even survived being crushed under large rocks from the Underworld caused by Arin’s Object Spinjitzu. While fighting Rontu, he managed to take a surprised tail whip from her.
Ras defeating Rontu, a legendary warrior
Heat Resistance: Ras has a resistance to high temperatures, allowing him to shrug off the heat from the recently created Dragon Icon bone sword. Although he is capable of feeling some pain from heat, as when Nokt broke his grip using Heat, he is still tough enough to survive the wolf's Heat blast. He also managed to survive in the high temperatures of the Wyldness.
Superhuman leaping: Ras can jump at incredibly high distance. He was able to leap far enough to catch up to the Explorer during the Ritual of the Blood Moon.
Superhuman strength: Ras has superhuman strength to overpower his opponents. Thanks to the Icon of the Source Dragon of Strength, he managed to bring down several dragons; species larger than him, knock Lloyd out of his Spinjitzu Tornado during the Blood Moon ritual, smash Nokt out of his Shatterspin, and even overpower Rontu with two strikes. Even without the Strength Icon, he is still able to demonstrate several feats such as lifting people with one arm and throwing Arin down to the ground during the Ritual of the Blood Moon. He did the same to Geo and proved to be stronger than Alfonzo, leaving both injured. During the Underworld fight, Ras managed to repel Arin's Object Spinjitzu-powered rock. Later, at the Monastery of Spinjitzu, he managed to take apart his fused bone armor, punch Geo to the ground after throwing him upward, and knock him out.
Superhuman agility: Ras has superhuman agility, able to do flips when fighting enemies. He also managed to dodge Rontu's tail whip, despite having both icons in his hands.
Superhuman reflexes: Ras has superhuman reflexes, as he managed to keep up with humans and several Elemental Masters. However, he is slower than members of the Forbidden Five like Nokt and Drix, who managed to get the drop on him.
Regenerative healing factor: Ras has regenerative healing factor, able to heal wounds from battles but gain scars. The limits of his healing factor are unknown but he required the healing elixir to heal from his injuries from Nokt's Shatterspin. But, he managed to recover and walk on both legs during a fight with Thunderfang immediately after Arin defeated him.
Quadrupedalism: Owing to his tiger-like nature, Ras can move on all four limbs like an actual animal, an ability that he uses to run faster, which makes it hard for humans to keep up.[2]
High intelligence: Ras has shown to have a high intelligence, being highly knowledgeable in many things the Ninja are unaware of. He even claims to know a great many things, including the truth about this universe.
Master Manipulator: Ras' intellect also makes him highly skilled and dangerous at manipulating people. He showed an ease in recruiting and rallying people to his cause like Beatrix, Jordana, Jay, Frak, Arin, and probably Cinder. He also knows how to use people's weaknesses, information he possesses, and lies to manipulate others as Frak, Jay, and Arin paid the price. This is especially seen in the way he manipulates Arin to help him in his cause, taking advantage of his insecurity on his skills and using the fact that Master Wu caused the Merge and the information he got from Jay about Arin's parents being in the Land of Lee to create a divide between the young Ninja and his friends (especially Sora and Lloyd) and drive him to side with him.
Skilled tactician: One of Ras’ greatest uses of his intelligence is that he is also a skilled tactician, often having a contingency plan in case the original one failed.
Ras training during the tournament
Skilled combatant: Ras is a fearsome combatant in martial arts who can efficiently hold against most of the ninja, easily defeat Arin on his own, and even stand up to powerful Elemental Masters like Lloyd and Nokt. He can also take on multiple opponents like Chaos-empowered Wolf warriors and corrupted Dragonian warriors, whereas powerless Elemental Masters and the Ninja had struggled to defeat them. While slightly weakened, he was able to hold against Nokt one-on-one until the wolf managed to knock him down with a Shatterspin blow. After getting his injuries healed, Ras managed to defeat two Dragonian Warriors at the World Forest and later several Skulkins and Greenbone Warriors in the Underworld. He also had the upper hand against Arin and Sora in the Underworld, the two ninja only defeating him thanks to luck. At the Monastery, he was able to easily defeat Geo without any of his dragon icons and even defeat Rontu.
Martial arts: Being a martial arts teacher, Ras is great at passing his martial arts to his students. He managed to teach Cinder to be a formidable opponent, improve Nokt's skills, teach Frak how to use his Quake powers and Shatterspin, and even taught Arin to do a full Spinjitzu tornado, where the ninja also managed to briefly fight Nokt using Ras' teachings.
Hammer Mastery: Ras primarily fights with the Icon of the Source Dragon of Strength, a Source Dragon Icon in the form of a war hammer which he's skilled in using to attack others and defend himself.
Swordsmanship: Having carried several blades over his life, Ras is a skilled swordsman. He used the Forge Icon together with his hammer to fight Rontu.
Magic: Despite being a warrior, Ras has an unspecified degree of magic, allowing him to use magic spells or curses. Using one of the Theroxian scrolls, he was able to recite the incantation to use the Forbidden Five's Theroxian magic that aided Jordana in taking control of Bonzle. He also used magic to imprison Wu in the protective container.
Curse inducement/Mind control: Ras can place curses on his chosen targets. He used this ability to hide information by cursing the Scroll-Worms and turning them hostile. Moreover, he can also control the Scroll-Worms and make them obey his commands.
Leadership: As leader of the Claws of Imperium, Ras led the Claw Hunters on dragon hunts. He even led the Wolf Clan during the invasion of the Cloud Kingdom and the Tournament of the Sources.
Pylikinesis: Ras has somehow gained control over the portal gates in each of the Merged Realms, whcih he used to transport the ninja into the farthest reaches of the Merged Lands and shut down the gates, rendering them inaccessible to everyone except himself.
Portal Negation: Ras was able to disrupt and disable the portal gates.
Communication with his master: Ras is able to communicate with his master in their void when they call him.
Levitation: When communicating with his master, Ras levitates in the air.
Ras accessing his anger form
Anger Form: When angered, Ras can access an empowered form where he gains red stripes and greater power. This enhancement is possible due to his master's powers.
Attribute Enhancement: In his anger form, Ras' strength is enhanced to the point where he can easily take down multiple Wolf warriors. His durability and endurance are also enhanced, as he managed to take hits from the corrupted Wolf warriors, including Nokt's stolen Elemental Powers, and it took a Shatterspin blow to knock him out. He also managed to win a fight against a squad of Greenbone Warriors and Skulkin in this state, even using their bones to create armor as proof of his victory.
Expert Pilot/Driver: Ras is an expert pilot and driver.
Expert Biker: Ras is also an expert biker.
Vast resources: Ras has many contingencies and resources placed across the Merged Lands in case of need, such as the Super Storm Jet in the First Land and possibly the Explorer in the Wyldness.
Expert Craftsman/Armorer: Ras is an expert in flawlessly crafting items, seeing that he was able to construct armor from the bones of Greenbone Warriors and Re-Awakened.
Ras using his hammer to create a massive shockwave
Weapons[]
Source Dragon Icons: Ras carried several Source Dragon Icons, which he planned to used to summon each of the seven Source Dragons.
Unknown Source Dragon Icon: After forging it in the Forge of the Forgotten via the Casket of Bones, Ras began using the Icon of an unknown Source Dragon in the form of a bone sword as a weapon alongside the Icon of the Source Dragon of Strength. Using both Icons, he defeated a squad of Greenbone Warriors and Skulkin.
Bow Source Dragon Icon: After shutting down the portal gates, Ras obtained another Source Dragon Icon in the form of a Ninja Bow.
Imperium Sword (formerly): During his time in Imperium, Ras used an Imperium Sword to hunt dragons.
Machete (briefly): Ras owned a machete which he used to cut through the jungle to get to the Shadow Dojo.
Mallet and Gong of Shattering (formerly): Ras used the Mallet and Gong of Shattering to grant supernatural abilities and combat skills. When he strikes the gong with the mallet, the powers are bestowed upon those wearing a Wolf Mask. Ras must strike the gong repeatedly every few seconds to keep extending the usage of the abilities.
Control implant (formerly): Ras had small chips that he planned to attach to the Forbidden Five and every time either of them disobeys him, he can trigger the device's remote to electrocute any member by doing so.
Returning Blade (formerly): Ras had a Prismatic Blade he received as an old battle trophy. He kept the blade with him until he gave it to Arin to help him explore the Spectral Lands for the healing elixir.
Weaknesses
Weaknesses[]
Arrogance - As Nokt and Rox pointed out, Ras can sometimes be too blind to see the truth right in front of him, being blinded by the thought of his own cleverness and the perfection of his master's plan, as he didn't think of Sora using her Technology to destroy Nokt's control collar or noticed Jordana being controlled by Rox.
Temper - As pointed out by Arin, Ras has serious anger issues. This can cause him to slip, as Frak begun to see his true nature and he recklessly confronted people like Nokt in the Monastery of Gates, where he attempted to make him pay for his betrayal.
Large/Extreme Force - While Ras is physically stronger than a regular human, his immense strength is ineffective against larger creatures like dragons due to being smaller than them, making it impossible to defeat them without his icons. Also, extreme forces like Spinjitzu can break his powerful hold, which Arin exploited in the Underworld.
Shatterspin - Despite his superhuman levels of strength and durability, even his healing factor, Shatterspin is still capable of overpowering Ras as demonstrated when Nokt managed to defeat him twice. Even his anger-empowered form didn't prevent him from being seriously injured and knocked unconscious by Nokt's Shatterspin at the Monastery of Gates. The wounds were also so severe that he needed the healing elixir from the Well of the Lost in the Spectral Lands. While Drix didn't seriously injure Ras, the insect was still able to send the tiger flying back with a single Shatterspin-empowered punch during a fight at the World Trees.
The ninja have faced some tough adversaries, but not many as fearsome as tiger-humanoid Ras. He demands total focus, competence and loyalty from his minions, so it’s probably best he doesn’t find out you’ve been working on your autobiographical one-man musical instead...[3]
THE STRESSMAKERS
This fearless creep is a real tough cookie in a terrifying tiger mask. He does not tolerate any mistakes. If anyone messes up, he deals with things himself![4]
Boss of the Claw Hunters
No one is as fearless as Ras. He despises mistakes. Then he becomes even scarier than he already is and puts things to rights with full force. This villain is not to be trifled with![5]
His head
On the outside, the head is fearsome and on the inside it is full of nasty plans. On the surface, he serves the Empress and hunts dragons. In the back of his mind, however, he has cunning intentions that will surprise you.[5]
1st appearance
When his right-hand man Rapton once again fails to get his act together, Lord Ras is furious! So he arrives and makes short work of it. Ras imprisons Arin, Sora and Riyu before they can escape.[5]
BREAKING NEWS: RAS BREAKS FREE!
According to reports, Lord Ras broke out of the prison in the confusion of the battle. Rumour has it that the scientist Jordana (pictured right) brought him drained Source Dragonenergy. What is behind this? According to villain experts, this energy could help Lord Ras gain unrivalled strength.[6]
UNRIVALLED
You need more proof that Ras is one of the most powerful villains around? Well, here it is:
PURE POWER!
Ras has no Elemental Powers, can't do Spinjitzu or any other fancy stuff. What does he have is pure muscle power! So much that even the strongest Elemental Masters go weak at the knees.
MEAN MOB!
But that alone does not make him the most powerful villain of all time. Because only those who gather the right people around them are truly powerful. And Ras can do that like no other!
ALL AGAINST ONE!
Only when everyone turns against him, like at the end of the Tournament of the Sources, does Ras have to admit the defeat. There, the Wolf Masks suddenly change sides and get massive energy claws on their backs.[7]
Villain of the Month!
There's no question about it - Lord Ras is one of the top five worst supervillains of all time! Few have kept the ninja in check for as long as he has. But to this day, his true plan remains a mystery. Does he want to overthrow the Source Dragons? Take over the world? What do you think?[8]
Ras means "head" in Amharic and it is a royal title in Ethiopian Semitic languages being similar to "duke" or "prince."
Behind the scenes
Behind the scenes[]
According to concept art, Ras was originally supposed to be a big fig like Dogshank and Killow but this was changed in the process.
Additionally, his original head design was based on 70200 CHI Laval[9] and his whole body was similar to Hulk but in gold.
On the other concept art, he is more similar to real life tigers based on his orange color, black stripes, and his head design. His attire was based on ancient Greece, Persia, and the Mongol Khanate as was the rest of Imperium in early stages of development.[10]
Similarly to the Crystal King's minifigure, Ras' teeth aren't painted in his minifigure form.
Based on the box art of 71813 Wolf Mask Shadow Dojo, Ras' Wolf Clan outfit was supposed to be different in some stages of development. The biggest changes are that his shoulders armor was the Imperium armor recolored in purple, his belt was originally made of rope, there was a word "blood" written on his suit in Ninjargon, and he had arm printing similar to his other minifigures.[11]
By the second half of Season 1, Ras' voice has drastically changed, being higher and softer.
Although there is no in-universe reason for the change, it was likely to provide some form of accommodation for his voice actor Brian Drummond, as doing a voice so deep and low can be damaging to one's throat.
Trivia
Trivia[]
He is the fourth character in the Ninjago franchise to have the title of Lord. The first three were Garmadon, Belgrave, and Mogra.
However, he is the second Lord to appear in the show. Belgrave is only mentioned in Seabound and Mogra only appears in the comic series Garmadon.
He is one of the six main antagonists (or group of main antagonists) to have appeared before the installment where they are the main antagonist, the others being Morro, Yang, Krux, Ronin, and the Forbidden Five.
Ras shares many similarities with Vex, another antagonist from the franchise:
Both were outsiders who sought an alliance with a ruling figure, Grimfax for Vex and Levo for Ras, but were rejected.
Both became a second-in-command to a powerful "master" who helped them dispose of the original rulers who rejected them, Zane for Vex and Beatrix for Ras, and then were appointed as tyrants who gained control of an entire nation, the Never-Realm for Zane and the City of Imperium for Beatrix.
Unlike Vex, Ras had an actual master that he genuinely served and did not exhibit the same level of deceit towards Beatrix as Vex did towards Zane, primarily because he did not resort to such manipulation.
Unlike Vex, who continuously deceived Zane by manipulating him into targeting those labeled as traitors and aggressors, Ras only misled Beatrix into helping him locate the Source Dragons for his master, pretending that it was for Imperium.
Both were ultimately stripped of their ill-gained position by the very individuals who elevated them in the first place.
Both Ras and Vex manipulated an amnesiac ninja into fighting for them, Zane for Vex and Jay for Ras.
For an unknown reason, Ras' eyes are orange in the sets but sometimes red in the show. However, they are more prominently the latter color when cast under a shadow.
It is possible that Lord Ras' name is a reference to the four main characters of Ninjago: Dragons Rising. Just as Lloyd Garmadon's name is a pun on "Lord Garmadon", the inverse may be true with Ras' title referring to Lloyd. The first letters of Riyu, Arin and Sora's names spell out "RAS".
When asked if Ras cleans himself by licking his paw, Chris "Doc" Wyatt replied with "LOL. Probably." [12]
Before he was revealed to be from the Wyldness, Chris "Doc" Wyatt joked about the possibility that Ras is from the world of Fabuland, another LEGO theme.[13]
In Chima, which is a place in Ras' original realm the Wyldness, there is a tribe of tigers who lived on the top of Mount Cavora. However, these tigers are different from Ras and his tribe, as they are orange with black stripes, similar to real life tigers instead of being black. It is unknown if there is any connection between those two tribes as except for few members who served the Phoenix Tribe, as there is no information about the tribe in Legends of Chima.
One of the tigers from Chima, Tormak, stole a Phoenix artifact which turned his fur black, being similar to the Wyldness tigers for a while.
When asked why Ras has black fur and pink stripes, Chris "Doc" Wyatt replied, "Interesting that you're asking this. Can a tiger change its stripes? If so, what would cause that?".[14]
In "The Final Game," it was shown that within the Tiger Tribe, all tigers possess black fur as a natural trait. However, what sets each tiger apart are the colors of their stripes, with Ras sporting pink stripes, in contrast to one of his ancestors, Zarkar, who had blue-gray stripes. Furthermore, Ras can change the color of his stripes to red when extremely enraged, as shown in "The Final Game" and "Casket of Bones") or during the Blood Moon (as shown in "Fugitives From Madness").
Ras has several animal traits based on real life tigers.
He sometimes growls and snarls between sentences when talking.
He has natural night vision, as explained by Jordana in "The Blood Moon."
He can run very fast, even managing to overtake a moving vehicle. Additionally, he can jump very high like real tigers—both of these traits can be seen in "The Forest of Spirits."
When fighting or running, he occasionally uses all four limbs like real animals, such as when fighting Lloyd in "Rising Ninja."
When asked how long ago Ras was found in the Forest of Spirits by his master, Chris "Doc" Wyatt replied that he is not allowed to answer that question.[15]
Despite never being seen using it, it was hinted in "They Gather for the Feast" that Ras owns a cell phone or some kind of similar device, as he sent an alert to Frak to remind him of his training.
Additionally, Frak's text tone consists of a first few notes from Ras' theme, hinting he is Frak's master.[16]
Catnip can have a effect on Ras's state of mind.[17]
According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, Ras knows a lot about the ninja, including Jay and Nya's relationship, because of the fact that the ninja are well-known figures.[18] This also includes Ras knowing Lloyd's last name.[19] Ras also knows about the First Spinjitzu Master and that he created Ninjago and some other realms.[20]
When asked if Ras has an elemental power, Chris "Doc" Wyatt responded "Not that we've seen..."[21]
In Season 3 Part 1, Ras revealed that no one has saved his world and that he could bring back his people by reversing the Merge, implying this although not truly confirming.
He seems to have an affinity for collecting trophies, seeing as he kept the Returning Blade as one for years and would later turn the remains of his skeletal enemies from the Underworld into armor, as well as steal the Greenbone Leader's helmet.
When asked how Ras is aware of Master Wu being responsible for causing the Merge, Chris "Doc" Wyatt answered that his master told him.[23]
Ras' stripes were able to turn red prior to the Blood Moon.[24]
Many years before the Merge, Ras was born in the Realm of the Wyldness. Once, as a cub, he ended up falling into a chasm while trying to get his ball. Unable to get out, Ras was rescued by a mysterious being, who eventually took him under their wing.[1]
Sometime later, Ras would duel an opponent who owned the Returning Blade, and after winning the bout, kept the Prismatic Blade for himself.[2]
Ras coming to Imperium for the first time
Several years later, he had a mission to assist his Master in gaining complete domination over the Source Dragons, which would allow them to use their life force to have power of the realms.[1][3][4] Ras succeeded in acquiring two Source Dragon Icons, specifically those representing the Source Dragons of Energy and Strength. He later departed from the Wyldness and embarked on a journey to Imperium. His strategy involved utilizing the kingdom's advanced technology to capture the Source Dragons. Ras — who by then went by the title of lord — approached the Royal Family of Imperium with a bold claim, asserting that he possessed something truly extraordinary that could greatly benefit the kingdom. He explained that he and Levo were well aware of the eventual decline of the dragon power that had been crucial in powering Imperium. Ras proposed with capturing a Source Dragon, which would provide an unlimited supply of dragon energy to sustain the kingdom. However, Levo disagreed, dismissing Source Dragons as mere myths and emphasizing the peaceful coexistence between dragons and Imperians. Despite Levo's skepticism, Ras persisted in his attempts to convince him, arguing that a single Source Dragon could enable them to conquer all realms. This led to disagreements, with Ras criticizing Levo for his lack of foresight. Levo made it clear that Imperium had no need for Ras' offers. As Ras left the throne room, he cast a final glance towards Beatrix, respectfully bowing to her before exiting the Imperium Palace.[3]
As Ras prepared to depart, he unexpectedly encountered Beatrix, intentionally mistaking her for Zeatrix. Beatrix agreed to Ras' proposal of assisting Imperium in capturing Source Dragons. Curious, Ras inquired if Beatrix would defy her own father. Beatrix revealed that she had fallen out of her father's favor due to Zeatrix inheriting Elemental Powers. Ras expressed his belief that Elemental Powers were frequently bestowed upon those who were unworthy of them. He further acknowledged Zeatrix's future role as the ruler of the Imperium due to her being the firstborn. In response, Beatrix informed Ras that if he assisted her in ascending to the throne, she would provide him with the necessary resources to capture the Source Dragons. Accepting her proposition, Ras acquiesced, addressing her as Empress. Ras plotted to sabotage Emperor Levo's hover chariot, which resulted in a catastrophic crash that claimed the Emperor's life. He also had the Imperium Guards arrest Zeatrix.[3]
Ras and Beatrix joining forces
After Beatrix ascended to the throne as Empress of Imperium, she established the Claws of Imperium, an organization led by Ras. Ras managed to capture the Source Dragon of Energy by employing the Icon of the Source Dragon of Energy to summon him, successfully imprisoning the dragon within a glass core.[5] However, Imperium could not contain two Source Dragons simultaneously, which hindered Ras from using the Icon of the Source Dragon of Strength to call forth the Strength Source Dragon.[6] As time passed and the realms merged due to the Merge, Ras set his sights on a young dragon named Riyu, recognizing his crucial role in his grand scheme.[7] At some point, Ras broke into the Cloud Kingdom archives to collect information and later placed a curse upon the Scroll-Worms, rendering them unable to reveal any information that he wished to keep hidden. As a result, the worms would become hostile towards anyone who inquired about such forbidden knowledge.[8][9] One of the secrets that Ras sought to conceal was the existence of the Dragon Cores, which served an immense purpose in bringing an end to the MergeQuakes.[10]
After the Claws of Imperium have succeeded in capturing Riyu for Ras' plan, Ras contacted Rapton, who assured Ras that everything had been taken care of as they start the transfer in the next day. Ras tells Rapton not to let his confidence get the best of him, as rare dragons such as Riyu are considered to be dangerous. As Rapton continued to be arrogant, Ras warned him that he didn't want any interruptions in the plan, ending the call.
The next day, Ras received news of Riyu's escape and made his way to the Crossroads. He censured Rapton for his failure and went to confront Arin and Sora. Arin tried to fight Ras, but the humanoid tiger grabbed him by the foot and threw him to the ground. He then defeated Sora by dodging her attack and threw his golden hammer at the SA Mark 01, dismantling it. Before he could finish her off, however, Riyu came up behind him. Ras used an Imperium Sword to shoot the baby dragon, taunting him that he plans to capture his entire herd. Suddenly, a MergeQuake appeared in the sky, much to Ras' satisfaction. He then instructed Rapton and the Claw Hunters to take the two teenagers and Riyu to a prison train, not wanting any further hindrances in the plan.
Rapton reached out to Ras to inform him that they had successfully captured a Matriarch Dragon. Ras remained stationed in his hover chariot to see what would happen next. Soon, Lloyd was able to defeat Rapton and the Claw Hunters with his Spinjitzu, which was augmented by dragon power. Following this, Ras returned to Imperium. On his way, Ras informed Beatrix that Lloyd had managed to establish a connection with the Matriarch Dragon, meaning that they could now pursue more Source Dragons like the one that Imperium had previously captured.
Ras entered the Advanced Systems Lab with two Imperium Guards, demanding answers about the Photac, to which Dr. LaRow hesitated to give a definitive response. Ras insisted on receiving a clear answer, prompting Dr. LaRow to admit that while Dorama could make the original Photac work, activating the copies was beyond his capabilities. Dr. LaRow explained that only Sora possessed the necessary skills for that task. Frustrated, Ras stormed out of the lab.
Ras and Beatrix had Rapton, and the Claw Hunters go over to the Cloud Kingdom and capture the Ice Dragons while the ninja were distracted from fighting the tentacled beasts. When Rapton called Ras to him that the plan went well, Ras gloats about Imperium's victory.
As Sora was forced to activate the Photac in order to save her dragon companion, Ras explained that the dragon's energy would still be drained until the device was operational. Ras ordered Dorama to begin the extraction process as Sora was fixing the device. In the midst of Sora's repairs, Ras listened to Dr. LaRow's taunts to Sora, saying that with the Photacs, Imperium can capture all dragon-kind, even the Source Dragons. However, Ras silenced her.
After Sora completed the Photac, Ras marveled at the Photac Beast that had been summoned and ordered Dorama to stop the extraction process. With the Photac now complete, Ras declared that nothing could stand in the way of Imperium.
Ras ordered Rapton to gather the Claw Hunters and bring them to the Advanced Systems Lab. Yet, Rapton was hesitant, as their orders were to prevent the escape of the dragons. Despite his reservations, Ras remained adamant about taking immediate action and abruptly terminated the communication. Before long, Rapton and the Claw Hunters reached the lab, where Ras commanded them to mount the Photacs.
Lord Ras was ordered to return to the Imperium Palace. As he went back Ras discovered that Riyu had been apprehended by Percival and was now back in custody. Beatrix reminded Ras of the crucial role Riyu played in the ongoing plan, despite the ninja's constant interference. Beatrix then ordered Ras to bring in Dr. LaRow so that she could extract all of Riyu's dragon energy. However, Ras was hesitant to comply, explaining that the energy was required for the plan. Beatrix was unhappy with Ras's reluctance and scolded him, stating that she would not take orders from anyone, including outlanders like Ras. The outburst enraged Ras, but he had no choice but to comply and call in Dr. LaRow.
Ras with the Empress
As Dr. LaRow and Jordana began the extraction process, Ras watched, only to be interrupted by a sudden attack on the Imperium Palace by the dragons. Ras and Beatrix quickly evacuated the palace and confronted Lloyd and the dragons. When the battle continued, Ras drove his hover chariot into Sora and attacked the dragons with his hammer until the arrival of the other ninja coincided with the Monastery of Imperium emerging from the ground.
Despite more of the ninja arriving, Ras led the Claws of Imperium into battle. Ras commandeered one of the Photac Beasts to engage in a fight with the dragons, but was eventually knocked off from the Photac by the Fire Dragon. When the ninja and the dragons retreated to the Monastery of Imperium, Ras attempted to break into the monastery but was informed by Dr. LaRow that Arin and Sora had escaped. Ras expressed his disappointment to Dr. LaRow, stating that she only had to keep an eye on them. Ras returned to the Imperium Palace.
Ras after being defeated by Sora
Confronting Arin and Sora, Ras offered them the choice between surrendering or perishing, with the result being that Riyu will be his in either case. However, Arin and Sora refused to surrender, engaging in a fierce battle with Ras. Despite his attempts to attack them, Ras continued to miss his targets, causing frustration and anger to build up inside him. He belittled the duo, claiming that they were too insignificant to even begin to understand his plan. Ras threw his hammer at Arin, knocking him unconscious. He then punched Sora, causing her to collide with the control panel of Riyu's cage, and rebuked them for not giving up when they had the chance. But doing so allowed Riyu to break free, unleashing his dragon power and activating Sora's Technology. Utilizing her powers, Sora trapped Ras in Riyu's cage, immobilizing him and ending the battle.
Ras being betrayed by Beatrix
Days later, Ras received a summons to the throne room accompanied by the Claws of Imperium. He intented to launch more dragon hunts, but Beatrix had different ideas by wanting the ninja gone. Ras tried to convince her of the potential benefits Imperium could gain from just one Source Dragon, but before he could finish, Beatrix commanded the Claws to arrest him for his failure. One of the Claw Hunters restrained Ras with handcuffs, leaving him confused. In an attempt to defend himself, Ras retaliated with a kick, only to be instantly incapacitated by an electric shock from Rapton. Ras pleaded with Beatrix, emphasizing that his plan would not succeed without his involvement. Beatrix, on the other hand, warned Ras that with the dragons gone, he would be placed in the Imperium Prison.
Ras was in his cell at the Imperium Prison, where he caught sight of an Imperium Guard using their tablet. He intently observed Beatrix's speech about any Imperian daring to broach the subject of the dragons' escape or the energy crisis would face immediate arrest.
Ras paced restlessly within his cell, emitting low growls under his breath, until he eventually settled on his bench. He became aware of the surveillance camera fixed upon him. He glared toward the security camera, while Rapton taunted him for his misfortunes.
Ras was visited by Beatrix in his cell, where he tries to ask for his release in order to continue their efforts, but she refuses before dealing with the ninja when they infiltrated the front gate.
Ras overhears the people chanting 'We are all dragons' in retaliation for Beatrix's deception and looked out to see two guards applaud as well, amusing him.
Ras recruiting Jordana after escaping from Imperium
When the MergeQuake Storm occurred, it took out the power, therefore, Ras used it as an opportunity to escape. It was then that he learned about Jordana successfully extracting Source Dragon energy, a remarkable feat that was deemed impossible. Blaming the ninja for the chaos that ensued, Ras made his way back to his master to inform them about Jordana's accomplishment. In the aftermath, he approached Jordana, who was feeling ashamed for her role in the MergeQuake Storm and believed she could never match up to Sora. Ras assured Jordana that she had the potential to surpass Sora in abilities. Ras explained that with the raw energy Jordana had drained from the Source Dragon, they could unlock forbidden secrets and tap into dark powers that had been dormant for centuries. He pictured a future where they would be unstoppable, with no one, not even the ninja, able to stand in their way. As he prepared to leave, he invited Jordana to join him.
After some time, Ras devised a new strategy to achieve his master's objectives. The initial step involved conducting the Blood Moon Ritual to release the Forbidden Five from the Nether-Space.[11] Ras intended for the Forbidden Five to participate in the Tournament of the Sources, aiming for victory to acquire the Elemental Powers of the other contestants.[12] He planned to harness these powers to create enough Dragon Icons to summon all the Source Dragons to the Merged Realms. By overpowering the Source Dragons, Ras aimed to use their energy to control the realms and undo the Merge for his master.[5] Meanwhile, he reformed the Wolf Clan and brought Cinder into the fold.
Ras and Jordana making their way through the Forest of Spirits
En route to the Shadow Dojo, Ras and Jordana navigated through the Forest of Spirits. Jordana was surprised at the vastness of Wyldness, a stark contrast to what the Imperians had been taught, where the focus was solely on the Lava Wastes. Ras took the opportunity to educate Jordana about the various landmarks of the Wyldness, highlighting the ignorance and self-centeredness of the Imperians who believed they were shielded from problems beyond Imperium. The unity of the realms had shattered this belief, forcing everyone to confront the realities beyond their own realm.
Entering the Shadow Dojo
Upon arriving at the Shadow Dojo, Ras used the Source Dragonenergy extracted by Jordana to unlock the entrance, revealing his determination despite the fall of the Kingdom of Imperium. He spoke of his grand plan, emphasizing the significance of unlocking the long-hidden secrets within the Shadow Dojo to achieve what had been deemed impossible for centuries. Once inside, Ras introduced Jordana to the Gong of Shattering and hinted at the ominous Ritual of the Blood Moon, suggesting that with the return of the Blood Moon, they would have the power to bring back the Forbidden Five, a prospect that would render any opposition futile.
Watching Jordana while studying Theroxian scrolls
After a while, Ras and Jordana delved into Theroxian scrolls, with Jordana struggling to decipher the intricate language. Curious about how they could possibly uncover the hidden secrets within the scrolls without understanding the language, Ras reassured Jordana that patience was key, a lesson instilled in him by his master who believed that true power required time. Just then, Cinder made an unexpected arrival. Ras wasted no time in introducing Cinder as one of the new members of the Wolf Clan, entrusted with the important task of retrieving the Mallet of Shattering for him.
Waiting for Cinder with the Mallet of Shattering
Upon receiving the Mallet of Shattering, Cinder was awaited by Ras and the rest of the reassembled Wolf Clan. Ras proclaimed that their ominous journey could commence with the acquisition of the artifact. With the mallet at hand, Ras then addressed the Wolf Mask Warriors, urging them to brace themselves for an unprecedented surge of power. Ras struck the Gong of Shattering with the mallet, infusing the Wolf Mask Warriors with newfound energy.
Ras and the Wolf Clan conquering the Cloud Kingdom
Ras had a plan to infiltrate the Cloud Kingdom in order to obtain the necessary information for the Ritual of the Blood Moon and to translate the Theroxian texts. Upon their arrival, the Wolf Mask Warriors managed to overpower the Writers of Destiny, while Ras chose not to use the Gong of Shattering due to the disastrous consequences. Euphrasia arrived and engaged in a fight with Cinder, eventually knocking Euphrasia out of the Cloud Kingdom.
Revealing the Scroll-Worm curse to Suetonius
Accompanied by Jordana, Ras proceeded to the Cloud Kingdom archives. Suetonius vowed to protect the library with his life. Ras found this amusing and declared that he needed the Writers of Destiny to remain alive, at least for now. Ras then revealed that he was the one responsible for cursing the Scroll-Worms, who had been instructed to attack. The Scroll-Worms captured Suetonius and Marcus, sealing them in cocoons and leaving them trapped.
Using the Gong of Shattering
Upon learning of the Wolf Clan's attack on the Cloud Kingdom and their intention to summon the Forbidden Five, the ninja swiftly traveled to the Cloud Kingdom. Engaging in combat, they successfully defeated a number of the Wolf Mask Warriors, while Ras and Jordana watched the battle unfold from the rooftop of the main building. Ras used the Mallet of Shattering to sound the Gong of Shattering, granting additional power to a select few wolf warriors who became Wolf Mask Claw Warriors. The fight between the ninja and the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors ended in a stalemate.
Watching the ninja's escaping
When Lloyd made the announcement about putting an end to Ras' control over the Cloud Kingdom, Ras strongly disagreed with him. In an attempt to prove his power, Ras called upon Cinder for assistance, but unfortunately, Kai easily defeated him. Despite this setback, Ras taunted Lloyd by claiming that he had already started unraveling the mysteries of the Forbidden Five. As an illustration of his progress, Ras struck the Gong of Shattering while Cinder adorned a Wolf Mask, enabling him to perform Shatterspin. Ras continued to strike the Gong of Shattering while Cinder successfully took down the ninja. Encouraged by their success, Ras commanded Cinder to deliver the final blow to the ninja. Faced with no other choice, the ninja were compelled to retreat. With their retreat, Ras triumphantly declared that the Cloud Kingdom and all its hidden secrets now belonged to him. He proclaimed that the Forbidden Five would once again rise to power.
Ras decided to demonstrate Cinder's skill in Shatterspin by having him destroy vases while Ras sounded the Gong of Shattering. Impressed by Cinder's accuracy, Ras praised him for his performance. Cinder, feeling empowered by the experience, commented that he could feel the power of the Gong of Shattering resonating within him. However, Ras didn't seem amused by Cinder's remark and left the scene.
Later on, Ras was engrossed in examining a scroll when Jordana approached him. She hinted that she had found the final component for the Blood Moon Ritual, a spell located in the Land of Lost Things. Ras was impressed by Jordana's growing skills in Theroxian magic and commended her for her discovery. Excited by the find, Ras immediately announced that they would depart for the valley without delay.
Ras ordering the start of the Cloud Kingdom engine
Accompanied by Jordana and Cinder, Ras led the way to the room where the Cloud Kingdom's motor was located. Upon reaching the motor room, Ras noticed that the Writers of Destiny had never used it for hundreds of years. Displeased by this oversight, Ras criticized the monks, considering them fools for neglecting such a valuable resource. Taking charge, Ras ordered the captive Writers of Destiny to activate the engine, causing the main building of the Cloud Kingdom to drift away, heading towards the Land of Lost Things.
Jordana received a calming suggestion from Ras when she was in the midst of explaining the events unfolding in the Land of Lost Things. In response to Jordana's mention of Bonzle being the spell to liberate the Forbidden Five, Ras acknowledged his awareness of this fact. Despite the potential disastrous consequences of excessive usage, Ras instructed the Wolf Mask Warriors to prepare the Gong of Shattering by having two Writers of Destiny strike it. He emphasized to Jordana that the desired outcome justified any possible sacrifice. Ras attentively observed as the Wolf Mask Warriors compelled two Cloud Monks to repeatedly strike the gong with the mallet, thereby empowering the wolf warriors in the Land of Lost Things to transform into Wolf Mask Claw Warriors. When Cole and the Finders managed to escape from the valley, Jordana felt frustrated, but Ras assured her that they would persistently pursue them wherever they may go.
Using Shatterspin, Cinder skillfully broke vases into pieces. Ras, on the other hand, believed that Cinder needed to exert more force and stressed that the key aspect of Shatterspin was its strength. Shortly after, Ras approached Jordana and asked her about the location of Bonzle. However, before Jordana could provide a complete answer, Ras was interrupted by a summoning from his master. The master instructed Ras to procure five Writers of Destiny as offerings to replace the Forbidden Five in Nether-Space. After receiving this command, Ras promptly relayed the information to Jordana and Cinder.
From the rooftop of the Cloud Kingdom, Ras observed the ascent of the Blood Moon. In that moment, his stripes and gloves transformed into a vibrant shade of red, bringing him a sense of contentment.
Ras was informed by Jordana that she had located the ninja and they were making their way towards the Forest of Spirits. In response, Ras urgently instructed Jordana to take immediate action and prevent the ninja from disrupting the Ritual of the Blood Moon. However, Jordana hesitated due to the considerable distance between them and the ninja. To address this, Jordana suggested the idea of deploying additional Wolf Mask Warriors to intercept them. Despite this suggestion, Ras insisted that Jordana utilize Theroxian magic. Still in the early stages of learning Theroxian magic, Jordana argued against this decision. However, Ras dismissed Jordana's concerns and emphasized the importance of success, having no time for failure.
Ras giving orders to Cinder about destroying the Cloud Kingdom
Ras conveyed to his master about the commencement of the Ritual of the Blood Moon. Ras then instructed Cinder to swiftly gather the Wolf Clan at the Shadow Dojo, ensuring that the Gong of Shattering was properly positioned. Subsequently, a Writer of Destiny sorrowfully revealed that the final remnants of the Theroxian text had been deciphered. In light of this revelation, Ras commanded Cinder to obliterate the Cloud Kingdom. Curiously, Cinder inquired about the fate of the Writers of Destiny, prompting Ras to emphasize that they too were included in his directive, as they were no longer required. Ras asserted that they had become the masters of their own destinies.
Ras punishing Jordana
Upon reaching the Shadow Dojo, Ras instructed the Wolf Clan to make preparations for the Ritual of the Blood Moon. However, his patience wore thin when Jordana arrived late, expecting her to have already been present. To his dismay, Jordana arrived without Bonzle, which only served to further frustrate Ras. He demanded to know the whereabouts of Bonzle, and Jordana revealed that Arin had actually saved her, a revelation that only fueled Ras' anger. In a fit of rage, Ras insulted Jordana, forcefully pushing her to the ground, before storming off to confront Arin alone.
Defeating Arin and beating him up
Catching up to Arin, Ras wielded his hammer and struck the Off-Road Buggy Car. Ras faced Riyu head-on, using his hammer to knock him aside, rendering him unconscious. Arin charged at Ras, but was swiftly overpowered as Ras seized him by the foot and forcefully slammed him to the ground. Ras effortlessly dominated the fight, asserting that Arin had the potential to be extraordinary, but was being held back by the ninja. Arin disagreed, firmly believing that the ninja were actually aiding in development. Ras countered Arin's belief by pointing out that he had not shown any improvement since their first encounter, as he was still unable to stop Ras with ease. Ras shared his own personal experience of weakness before his master enlightened him on the importance of strength. As a demonstration, he forcefully slammed Arin to the ground, leaving a deep crater in its wake. Ras suggested that Arin might need to seek out a true master who could impart the same valuable lesson upon him one day. Ras commandeered the Off-Road Buggy Car and departed, taking Bonzle with him.
Upon returning to the Shadow Dojo, the Wolf Mask Warriors positioned Bonzle as Ras informed his master that all was in order. He articulated that the master's patience and precise planning were soon going to yield results, exposing the immense power of the Merged Realms for Ras and his master to wield.
Ras gave instructions to a Wolf Mask Warrior to strike the Gong of Shattering, which would initiate the ritual. With a nod from Ras, the warrior struck the gong, causing the other warriors to transform into Wolf Mask Claw Warriors. Jordana reminded Ras about the importance of pronouncing the words perfectly, but Ras confidently assured her that he had it under control. He then asked Jordana if she was ready to reverse the spell and summon the Forbidden Five. Despite Bonzle's objections that she was more than just a spell, Ras silenced her. Ras began reading the scroll in Theroxian. However, Ras noticed that the ninja had infiltrated the Shadow Dojo. Ras quickly commanded the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors and Cinder to stop the ninja's interference, allowing him to continue reading undisturbed. As the portal opened, Ras demanded that the sacrifices be brought in. However, Ras soon realized that the Writers of Destiny had managed to escape during the battle, causing him to order his warriors to retrieve them immediately.
Ras being chased by Lloyd
As a Wolf Mask Claw Warrior descended towards Ras, he evaded the fall by stepping aside, swiftly redirecting his attention to Cinder. Ras commanded Cinder to use Shatterspin to defeat the ninja, but to his surprise, Kai unleashed the Rising Dragon technique, surpassing Cinder's abilities. Ras couldn't believe it was possible. Suddenly, Lloyd launched an attack on Ras, but Ras evaded the energy bolts and engaged in a fierce battle with Lloyd, despite his use of Energy and Spinjitzu. With a strong strike, Ras disrupted Lloyd's Spinjitzu, causing him to stumble. Taking advantage of the situation, Ras taunted Lloyd, claiming that the ritual was almost complete. However, Lloyd revealed that Cinder had found his match and the Blood Moon was about to pass.
Ras with Nokt after sacrificing Kai
The Writers of Destiny had also managed to escape, preventing themselves from being sacrificed. Lloyd confidently declared that Ras had lost. Amused by Lloyd's words, Ras explained that he only needed an unshattered soul to be a sacrifice and he knew exactly who to target. With a swift motion, Ras threw his hammer at Kai, sending him through the gateway and freeing Nokt from his exile. Ras then revealed to Nokt that he was the one responsible for his release and shared his plan to release the other four beings by sacrificing the ninja.
Escaping with the help of his master
As Bonzle retaliated, Jordana struggled to maintain the open portal. Ras angrily commanded Jordana to keep the gateway accessible. Ras declared that he would personally sacrifice Nya first by placing her into the gate. However, before he could do so, Ras was struck by a hand from the Elemental Fire Mech, courtesy of Arin and Sora. Once Ras regained his composure, he discovered that the portal had closed and the ninja were gaining the advantage. Frustrated, Ras called upon his master for assistance. Suddenly, Ras, Nokt, Jordana, Cinder, the wolf warriors, and the Shadow Dojo were transported to an unfamiliar field.
Ras utilizing Nokt
Nokt seethed with anger towards Ras for abandoning the mission before he could release the remaining members of the Forbidden Five. Ras boldly proclaimed that Nokt's newfound freedom was solely thanks to him, and he adamantly refused to tolerate being addressed in such a disrespectful manner. Ras affixed a gadget to Nokt's head and triggered it using a remote, shocking him. Ras stressed the importance of loyalty from Nokt and mentioned that the gadget would guarantee it. Turning his attention to Jordana, Ras berated her for failing to maintain the open portal. However, to his surprise, Jordana seemed to be completely disregarding him.
Ras talking to his master
Ras received an urgent summons from his master, interrupting the escalating confrontation. Ras proceeded to explain to his master that the Ritual of the Blood Moon was merely a single step in their grand plan, far from being the sole objective. Determined not to disappoint his master, Ras vowed to triumph in the Tournament of the Sources and assert dominance over the Source Dragons. He assured his master that once he achieved this feat, all the power they desired would be within their grasp.
At some point in time, Ras saved an amnesiac Jay from an unknown fate and recruited him while also recruiting the new Elemental Master of Quake, Arin's childhood friend, Frak. He trained them both and lied to Jay about his past, saying that he used to serve him and that the ninja were his enemies.
Ras instructed Nokt and Cinder to prepare for the Tournament of the Sources. During the training session, Nokt became overly aggressive, prompting Ras to use his control device to shock him, emphasizing that it was not a battle to the death. Ras acknowledged Nokt's improved skills since his escape from the Nether-Space, but when Nokt suggested removing the control implant, Ras asserted his authority, reminding Nokt that he is the leader and doesn't need any betrayal from him. After the confrontation, Ras resumed the training session.
Before attending the Tournament of the Sources, Ras secretly met with the Games Master's uncle, Bleckt, of whom he knew he hated his nephew, and offered him help with eliminating Roby so he could become the Games Master. In exchange, Ras wanted Bleckt to not send invitations to the ninja and even if they could attend, he demanded Bleckt would rig the tournament so only his own champion could win.[13]
Upon their arrival in the City of Temples, Ras and the Wolf Clan received an invitation to attend the welcome banquet. During the event, Ras confronted Lloyd, who seemed to believe that Ras was seeking a fight. Ras explained that the tournament was a way to "honor" the Source Dragons, and that was the reason for his presence. Suddenly, Zeatrix arrived, accusing the ninja of interfering with Beatrix and frustrated with Bleckt's actions. Zeatrix boldly claimed that she could defeat every Elemental Master in the tournament, to which Ras responded by reminding her of Beatrix's victory over Zeatrix. This led to a tense exchange between the two, with Zeatrix disbelieving that Ras had managed to recruit Elemental Masters to join him in the City of Temples. She also revealed her desire for revenge against Ras for the death of Levo.
Ras with the Elemental Masters after defeating the attacker bots
Later, Bleckt dispatched attacker bots to assassinate the ninja and Zur, while a fake attacker bot was sent after Ras to divert suspicion. Despite the attempt on the ninja's lives, Ras, Jordana, and Cinder regrouped with the others. Tox discovered that the attacker bot had a Gilba Thorn, which can only be found in the Mother Garden, leading everyone to suspect the involvement of Zant-Tanz. Ras was the first to advocate for Zant-Tanz's banishment from the city, a sentiment that was echoed by most of the Elemental Masters.
Ras, Cinder, and Jordana accompanied Jay to the arena where he faced off against Nya. As Nya stepped up, Ras stepped aside, revealing Jay, much to the Ninja's shock. Ras took pleasure in their shock, which he gloated to Jordana (unaware it was actually Rox). When Jay put on a Wolf Mask, Ras uses the Gong and the Mallet of Shattering so he could perform Shatterspin. Ras took pleasure when Jay got the upper hand against Nya. When Jay lost, Ras became angry. As Jay returned, Ras angrily rebuked him for his failure, reminding him he didn't rescue Jay so he could disappoint him and he dosen't tolerate failure. Despite Jay's apology, Ras refused give him a second chance and left Jay alone. When Jay left the arena, Ras smirked at the ninja who were horrified by Jay's transformation and his hatred to Nya.
Sometime after Jay's fight with Nya, Ras was confronted in his team's room by the ninja who demanded that he release Jay and accused him of brainwashing him. Ras denied the accusations as he found Jay after the Blood Moon ritual. He pointed out that The Merge wiped Jay of his memory and he was lost, alone, and friendless. He simply helped Jay when no one else did and asked if they were Jay's friends, why don't they try finding him. Lloyd became impatient and demanded Ras to let them see Jay but Ras said it was too late. Because Jay failed to win his match, Ras sent him away. He suggested that they abandon the Tournament of Sources to find Jay, but they refused knowing they couldn't find out the reason behind the killing of the Arc Dragons.
Ras later attended Cinder's match with Wyldfyre, where he used the Gong of Shattering to help Cinder overpower her and win.
Ras manipulating Arin by revealing the truth about the Merge to him
After the Ninja invoked the Cavern Run to prove their innocence so they could stay in the tournament, Ras attended the race until he went back to the Wolf Clan's room suspecting something only to find Arin and Riyu there looking for clues. Ras immediately began manipulating Arin, telling him that he expected Lloyd to send his only student without Elemental Powers into enemy territory. Arin countered that he didn't need powers to knock out Ras during the Ritual of the Blood Moon, to which Ras revealed the truth that Sora had tricked him by using her powers to power up the object, which Arin used the Object Spinjitzu on. Arin was then told by Ras that Lloyd Garmadon probably wasn't a good master for him since he couldn't see him clearly enough. He also explained to him something that Arin didn't know until then, that Ras' plan was to reverse the Merge in which Arin's parents were lost, and also revealed to him that it was Master Wu himself who caused the Merge.
Ras explained to Arin that Wu, being the architect of the Merge, bore the responsibility not only for the disappearance of Arin's parents but also for the myriad consequences that the Merge had wrought. Arin was skeptical regarding this assertion, given Wu's wisdom. Ras contended that Arin's youth limited his understanding, highlighting the irony in Arin's perception of him as a villain while viewing the ninja as virtuous. Ras elaborated on the complexity of morality, suggesting that good could exist within evil and vice versa. When Arin asked if Ras' plan was to reverse the Merge, Ras refrained from disclosing his true intentions, but emphasized that reversing the Merge was the sole means to save the Merged Realms from their self-destructive path. He asserted that this action could potentially restore all those who have been lost, including Arin's parents. Despite Ras' assurances, Arin remained unconvinced. Ras insisted that the timing of Arin's belief was inconsequential, confident that a day would arrive when Arin recognized the validity of his claims. He hoped that this realization occurred before it was too late. As Ras permitted Arin and Riyu to depart, he chuckled, fully aware that his shared revelations would sow discord among the ninja.
Zeatrix provoking Ras
Ras observed the match between Zeatrix and Euphrasia. Following Zeatrix's victory, she provocatively mocked Ras, suggesting that defeating Euphrasia was merely a prelude to her plans for him, which incited anger within Ras. Subsequently, after Nokt's bout against Tox, Ras summoned Frak to the Games Plaza, where Frak was set to engage in a match against Cole that had been secretly manipulated to ensure Frak's triumph.
Ras speaking with "Jordana"
As time passed, Jordana who was being possessed by Rox of the Forbidden Five, approached Ras with a question regarding the wisdom of his decision to disclose the truth to Arin, emphasizing the notion that information can serve as a powerful tool, to which Ras countered that information could also act as a poison. After he elaborated on his rationale for revealing the truth to Arin, Ras articulated the overarching objective of winning the tournament, thereby enabling the summoning of the Source Dragons once they create the Dragon Icons. He underscored the imperative nature of securing victory in the tournament by any means necessary.
Arin confronting Ras once again
In the course of Cinder's confrontation with Sora, Arin approached Ras to disclose that Ras' earlier assertions regarding Sora using of her Elemental Powers during the Blood Moon ritual were right, prompting Ras to assert that he possessed insight on numerous matters. Arin further revealed that Jay held information concerning Arin's parents from his tenure within the Administration, to which Ras responded by indicating that he was privy to all the same details that Jay possessed. Subsequently, Ras used the Gong and Mallet of Shattering to enhance Cinder with Shatterspin in an effort to secure victory over Sora. Despite these efforts, Sora emerged victorious in the round.
At night, Ras saw Arin training to perform a proper Spinjitzu tornado, smirking as it was only because of his advice through Frak, knowing he was slowly getting Arin to his side.
Before Frak's fight with Zur, Ras noticed Frak approaching Cole, seeking guidance on how to control Earth. This infuriated Ras, as he disapproved of Frak consulting the ninja for help. After the match, a furious Ras confronted Frak. Frak clarified that he sought Cole's expertise because Earth was Cole's Elemental Power, which made him a valuable source of knowledge. However, Ras was further enraged when Frak referred to Cole as "Master Cole," insisting that he was the only master Frak should acknowledge.
During Lloyd's fight with Zeatrix, Ras was angered after Lloyd's victory which he had witnessed.
During the match between Frak and Sora, Ras urged Frak to wear a Wolf Mask to enable him to use Shatterspin and secure a win. Frak hesitated, aware of the risks associated with the mask. Ras, frustrated and eager for victory, shouted at him, but Frak chose to fight fairly, which angered Ras. Ultimately, Sora emerged victorious, leading Ras to reprimand Frak for not following orders. Ras expressed his intolerance for disobedience, claiming Frak wasted a chance for victory. In a fit of rage, Ras grabbed Frak by the throat, lifted him, and threw him to the ground, declaring he never wanted to see Frak again before storming off with the Wolf Clan.
Later, Ras watched the match between Lloyd and Nokt unfold. However, the fight was interrupted when Bleckt pointed out that the rules prohibit injured competitors from continuing. As a result, Roby announced Nokt as the winner. With Nokt's victory confirmed, Ras exchanged a nod with Bleckt, signaling that their plan was moving forward smoothly, and Bleckt returned the gesture.
Some time before the tournament's final fight, Ras was training at the courtyard, preparing for fighting.
Ras and "Jordana" observing the final match
The tournament's final match was about to begin, with Ras stepping in to coach Nokt during the battle. As Sora and Nokt engaged in a one-on-one duel, Sora unleashed her Elemental Powers, sending Nokt crashing into the jumbotron. In a fit of frustration, Ras shouted at Nokt to unleash his full potential and take Sora down. While Ras and Jordana observed the intense confrontation, Ras noticed Arin making his way out of the Games Plaza but chose to remain and witness the unfolding drama. Jordana remarked on the prolonged nature of the fight, which was unusual compared to Nokt's previous matches, and Ras felt the pressure, insisting that Nokt could not afford to lose. Just when it seemed Sora was about to land the decisive blow, Bleckt discreetly adjusted the arena's tilt, unexpectedly shifting the momentum back in Nokt's favor. Seizing the opportunity, Nokt ultimately triumphed over Sora, claiming victory in the Tournament of the Sources.
Ras and Bleckt after being exposed
Ras was present at the victory ceremony, where Roby was about to announce Nokt as the Champion of the Sources. Just as Roby was ready to bestow the Elemental Powers upon Nokt using the Elemental Cup, Wyldfyre and Zur showed up, exposing Ras and Bleckt's scheme to manipulate the games for the Wolf Clan's advantage. In light of this revelation, Roby chose to call off the ceremony. However, Nokt unleashed Shatterspin, which propelled Roby away and allowed the Elemental Powers to flow into him. With the powers now at their disposal, Ras attempted to advance his agenda, but Nokt declared his independence from Ras' control. When Ras tried to activate the control device on Nokt, he realized it was ineffective because Sora had dismantled it during the competition.
Angry Ras changing the color of his stripes
Ras was confused when Jordana referred to Nokt as her brother, but he soon realized that Rox's soul had managed to escape from the Nether-Space during the Blood Moon ritual, subsequently taking possession of Jordana. His astonishment deepened when Nokt and Rox revealed that they killed three Arc Dragons to obtain their Crowns of Horns. Upon discovering that Nokt and Rox intended to use the Crowns of Horns along with the Elemental Powers to liberate the remaining members of the Forbidden Five, Ras was consumed by fury, his stripes shifting to red. He vehemently declared that such an act would not occur while he was in charge. He called upon Cinder and the Wolf Mask Warriors to deal with Nokt and Rox, demanding that they either obey him for the sake of his master's wishes to come to the Cauldron of Realms to finish their plan or be destroyed. However, Rox corrupted the Wolf Clan to rise against Ras. Ras attempted to strike Rox and Nokt with his hammer, but Nokt countered by using Shockwave to push Ras back forcefully.
After being pushed by Nokt, Ras was overthrown with all the corrupted Wolf warriors who attacked him. After a while, Ras managed to get free of them and shouted at escaping Nokt and Jordana that they stole his Elemental Powers. Then he started fighting the warriors alongside the ninja and the Elemental Masters. When Bleckt told him that it wasn't the way he imagined their partnership, Ras chuckled and threw him away as if he was only a pawn of his grand scheme. Ras then came to Roby and forced him to fly on a platform to the Monastery of Gates so they could drain Nokt of his powers as only the Games Master could use the Elemental Cup to do so.
Ras, Arin, and Riyu holding Nokt
Ras and Roby got to the monastery just in time to save Arin and Riyu from Nokt who was fighting them. Ras then praised Arin for using the proper Spinjitzu after listening to his advice through Frak. After that they started to fight Nokt with Riyu and they managed to hold Nokt long enough so Roby could drain his powers, but unsuccessfully, as he was too powerful. Nokt used Heat to make Ras release him and blew Roby away using Shockwave. Nokt then pushed Ras and Arin away with his powers, turning the tiger's stripes back to normal, draining him of energy.
Arin offering his help to Ras
After Nokt opened the portal to the Nether-Space and released the rest of the Forbidden Five, Arin helped the weakened Ras to get up from the ground and pushed a rock that fell on the tiger. Ras asked him why would Arin help him and the answer was that even though they weren't friends or even real allies, Ras knew about Arin's parents and he could help him find them.
Arin and Ras then fought Nokt alongside the rest of the ninja, until Nokt pushed Ras into a corner and tried to kill him for thinking he could use the Forbidden Five as his pawns. However, Arin attacked Nokt, saving Ras' life.
Ras being dragged by Nokt after his defeat
After draining Nokt's powers, the Forbidden Five decided to escape through the gate to the Cloud Kingdom. As Nokt was on his way to the gate, Ras tried to attack him with his hammer once again, but was hit by Nokt's Shatterspin powers, who then took the unconscious Ras to the gate claiming that his revenge on him was not yet completed. Arin saw it and decided to help Ras as he could help him in the future, taking his hammer from the ground and entering the portal gate right before it was destroyed by the Forbidden Five.
Ras and Arin being stranded
Because of the gate's destruction, all who had entered it were lost somewhere in the Merged Realms. Arin ended up with Ras in the First Land. There, Arin made a fire and told Ras, who was still unconscious, that he would help him to get better as he was the only one who could help him find his parents.
For several weeks after being stranded with Arin in the First Land, Ras was very weak so he was mostly laying while Arin took care of him. In exchange, Ras started training Arin his techniques and methods of fighting.
One day, Ras sent Arin to find some food in the First Land. After a few hours, when it was already dark, Arin returned to the camp, where an angry Ras was waiting for him, as he thought Arin had been gone too long. Arin then began to feed him, while Ras wondered if he had stolen the food or had to fight the villagers for it. When he learned that Arin had only asked for it, he told him that in life he could not rely on other people's help and had to be able to take things by force, believing that all people only act in their own self-interest. Ras then ordered Arin to continue his training, but he was not satisfied with his ninja form and told him that he had not progressed at all. To motivate Arin, he explained to him that he had to focus on his strength and anger to turn his hurt into power. Arin did so and managed a perfect Spinjitzu tornado, to which Ras told him to never doubt his teachings.
Being dragged by Arin through the First Land
In the morning, Arin and Ras set off on a journey through the First Land, with Arin pulling Ras on a wooden sled he had made for him. Although the young ninja suggested they stop and rest, Ras insisted that they go faster. When Arin mentioned hisparents, Ras told him that he had promised to find them, and that he would always keep his word. However, his injuries were too serious, so he explained to Arin that they must journey to the Spectral Lands, where he could heal.
During their journey, Arin and Ras decided to stop so that the young ninja could practice Spinjitzu. However, when he failed on his first attempt, Ras became angry and told Arin that he saw a mental conflict in him and that he should forget the teachings of the ninja, as they were cowards. Arin tried to argue that ninja were heroes, but Ras objected that the word "hero" was meaningless and that he himself was a hero to someone. Arin explained that the ninja saved the world, which angered Ras and he shouted at Arin that neither the ninja nor anyone else saved his world. And they didn't save Arin's parents either, which Arin blamed on Master Wu, which Ras agreed with. The tiger then started coughing and feeling much worse, so the two continued their journey to the Spectral Lands.
When they reached the border of the Spectral Lands some time later, Arin suggested that Ras stay there while he went into the realm, as Ras was too weak and they would waste a lot of time. So Ras explained to Arin that he had heard of a legend that there was a healing elixir from the Well of the Lost in these lands, which Arin had to obtain. Before the young ninja could leave, Ras pulled out the Returning Blade and gave it to Arin, saying that it was made of Prismatic Steel and that he would need it. However, he was too weak to tell him more.
Ras finally healing after drinking the elixir
When Arin managed to obtain the elixir and was returning with Morro, who inhabited the Spectral Lands, both of them were attacked by Soul Suckers. However, Ras noticed that Arin had the elixir, so he got off his sled and tried to cross to the border. He managed to crawl to the bridge a short distance from Arin, but then the Soul Suckers attacked him and tried to drain his spirit energy. However, Arin used Object Spinjitzu to save his master and gave him the elixir that healed him. Together they left the Spectral Lands.
The two continued their journey through the desert, but it took too long, and Arin began to complain that instead of leading him to his parents, Ras was just leading him through an empty desert. Ras said that Arin misjudged the situation, and when they reached one of the rocks, the tiger pressed a hidden lever that revealed the Super Storm Jet hidden underground. Ras explained to Arin that he had hidden many resources across the Merged Lands as a contingency. The two then boarded the jet, with Ras leaving Arin to pilot and show him how he could do it. However, since the young ninja was unable to properly launch the jet, an annoyed Ras was forced to help him.
During their flight over the Endless Sea, Arin noticed the algae farmers' village and wanted to go help them, seeing that they were in trouble. However, Ras stopped him and explained to him that he should focus on his mission, which was to find his parents, to which Arin finally agreed.
Ras showing Arin his parents' graves
Some time later, they arrived on a mysterious dark island, where Ras showed Arin the way to his parents. When the young ninja asked if it was a trick or a lie, Ras seemed sincere and told Arin that it was not a lie. When Arin ran to find his parents, he discovered that they were only their tombstones. He burst into tears, and Ras put his hand on his shoulder and explained that he had not told him because Arin would not believe him. The young ninja was devastated by what he learned, but Ras assured him that if they reversed the Merge, they could alter reality in the process and restore both Arin's parents and Ras' people back to life.
Arin's training continued on this mysterious island, and while performing Spinjitzu, Ras poisoned the young ninja's mind with thoughts of how Master Wu was responsible for the death of Arin's parents. Ras then explained to Arin that reversing the Merge would not be easy, as they needed power from all seven Source Dragons. They could only summon them using Dragon Icons, the same way Ras had captured the Source Dragon of Energy. However, since Imperium was not enough to sustain two Source Dragons, Ras explained to Arin that he had to keep the other Dragon Icon he had, his golden hammer, with him at all times as a weapon. However, since they did not have the Icons for the other six dragons, they had to find a new way to create them, as Ras' plan for the Tournament of the Sources and using all the Elemental Powers had failed. Ras then asked Arin where he and the ninja learned about the Source Dragon Energy in the Dragon Cores, and when Arin told him it was in the Temple of the Dragon Cores, the two set off on a journey there.
During their flight, Ras noticed that Arin was distracted and asked him what was going on. The young ninja had questions about the cemetery Ras had shown him and whether he was truly capable of fulfilling his promise. Ras assured him of this, but during their conversation, the jet was hit by an unknown intruder. Rogue, hired by Zeatrix to capture Ras, was throwing bombs at the jet, which Ras tried to avoid. When Arin asked if Ras was bothered by random people trying to eliminate him, the tiger replied that strength attracts challenge. Ras then launched a drone at Rogue's mech to stop him, but to no avail. As Rogue jumped onto the wing of the jet, Ras ordered Arin to stop him. However, Rogue managed to attack Ras directly and disable the jet, so Ras ejected his parachute seat.
Ras and Arin riding Leaf Blade
While landing in the World Forest, Rogue attempted to attack Ras once more on his mech, but was unsuccessful as the tiger managed to repel his attacks and get rid of him.
Ras fell into a tree branch and fell unconscious until Arin, riding Leaf Blade and other Mountain Dragons, came to his rescue. Ras was unhappy with the presence of the dragons, as he had once hunted them for Imperium and was afraid they would recognize him. Leaf Blade then flew with them on his back to the Temple of the Dragon Cores, but along the way they encountered two dragons that Ras was convinced recognized him.
Ras talking to the Spirit of the Temple
Upon arriving at the temple, Ras asked Arin if he recognized the statue of the First Spinjitzu Master, and when the young ninja replied that he was Lloyd's grandfather and had created Ninjago and some other realms, Ras agreed, but said that he was long gone. He then took his hammer and destroyed the statue's head to summon the Spirit of the Temple, which worked. Ras then asked if there was a way to create Source Dragon Icons without gathering Elemental Powers, which the Spirit confirmed, but stated that this knowledge was reserved for the descendants of the First Spinjitzu Master. Ras therefore used the power of his hammer and struck the Spirit with it, threatening him and demanding the revelation of the method. The Spirit finally gave in and revealed to Ras that there was a method using the Casket of Bones and the Forge of the Forgotten in the depths of the Underworld.
Ras and Arin escaping the Mountain Dragons
Arin and Ras then left the temple, where Leaf Blade and other Mountain Dragons were already waiting for them, as they already knew of Ras' presence. They demanded that Arin hand Ras over to them, which he refused to do, so Ras decided to fight them. Arin stopped him, however, and using a glider he had previously retrieved from Rogue's destroyed mech, he caught Ras and they fled. The tiger disagreed, claiming that he could destroy them, which was exactly what Arin did not want. The young ninja managed to get rid of the dragons by taking advantage of their environment and their smaller size, which Ras called ridiculous tactics, as he preferred direct combat.
When they landed on one of the trees, Arin was unhappy with how everyone, possibly including the ninja, thought he was a villain. Ras tried to explain to him that his desire to be liked was a weakness, but the young ninja didn't really agree. At that time, all the ninja landed on the same tree, as they had tracked down one of the Prismatic Blades, Ras's Returning Blade.
As Ras and Arin confronted the ninja, Ras was irritated upon seeing Frak, and the fact that Frak was a recent addition into the ninja team. Lloyd urged Ras to free Arin, but Ras firmly asserted that Arin had chosen to be with him, a sentiment echoed by Arin, who declared Ras to be his new mentor. The ninja were momentarily taken aback by this revelation, prompting Ras to reaffirm that Arin's commitment to him was unwavering. Frak, skeptical of their bond, accused Ras of manipulating Arin's mind, to which Ras responded that he was merely training Arin, just as he had once trained Frak. Lloyd pressed Arin to return to the team, while Zane used the blue Prismatic Blade to ascertain that Arin possessed the final Prismatic Blade.
Ras refusing to give up the Returning Blade
When Lloyd inquired Arin about him having a Prismatic Blade, Ras remained silent, leading Arin to unveil the Returning Blade, which Ras quickly seized and explained its origins to the ninja. The group then revealed that the Forbidden Five were amassing the Prismatic Blades to liberate Thunderfang, a vengeful dragon intent on wreaking havoc on all life in retaliation for being denied the title of Source Dragon, with the Returning Blade being one of the last two remaining Prismatic Weapons. Ras coldly vowed to prevent this catastrophe from occurring and encouraged Arin to join him as they prepared to leave. Frak attempted to intervene, but Arin countered with Spinjitzu, sending Frak staggering backward. Just then, Ras was abducted by Rogue, so Arin took to the skies on his glider, resolutely pursuing Rogue.
Kidnapped by Rogue
Ras demanded that Rogue released him, threatening an eternity of retribution if his request was not met. During the ensuing chase, Rogue propelled Ras toward Arin, causing Arin to stumble backward. Arin later managed to retrieve one of Rogue's lightning daggers. As Arin closed the distance to Ras, the latter expressed his frustration with Arin's sluggish pace, urging him to act more quickly. Ultimately, Arin succeeded in liberating Ras by using the lightning dagger to sever the ropes that bound him. Upon landing, Ras commented that Rogue was proving to be a more formidable adversary than the ninja, whom he dismissively referred to as Arin's former allies, a claim that Arin vehemently contested.
Fighting the corrupted Dragonians
At that moment, Rogue reentered the battle, engaging Arin in a fierce one-on-one duel, while Ras used his hammer to combat the Dragonian Warriors who also came with Drix to steal the Prismatic Blade. However, as Ras finished his confrontation, Drix stealthily approached from behind and struck him with Shatterspin. Ras retaliated by lunging at Drix, but the latter counters with his own hammer blow that sent Ras reeling and weakened him significantly. Seizing the opportunity, the Dragonian Warriors took Ras captive as they retreated to the First Land alongside Drix.
When Drix, the Dragonian warriors, and the kidnapped Ras arrived at Thunderfang's prison near the Storm Village in the First Land, they were met by the ninja and Arin, ready to fight. When the rest of the Forbidden Five joined them, Nokt, instead of fulfilling his mission of taking the Prismatic Blades, decided to take the bound Ras to the ground. There, he untied his bonds, returned his hammer, and explained that he did not want to fight him in a weakened state. The two then began to fight.
Arin saving Ras from Nokt
Arin, who had been tasked with escaping with the Prismatic Blades, noticed Nokt cornering Ras and preparing to kill him, so he decided to step in and save his master. The weakened Ras was left lying on the ground while the Forbidden Five went to free Thunderfang.
After Thunderfang climbed out of the ground, Ras was left lying under a pile of rocks and unable to move. Rogue flew to the scene and headed for Ras to finally capture him. Arin, however, noticed this and ran to his master's aid again. He managed to stop Rogue and get him away from Ras, which finally allowed the tiger to break free.
Later, Arin realized that he could stop Thunderfang by throwing the elixir from the Well of the Lost at him, as it would help all the souls that Thunderfang had swallowed to move on. At that time, Ras came to him and tried to dissuade him, telling him that he did not have enough strength and anger to do it. Arin agreed that he did not have enough anger, but nevertheless decided to do it and in the end he actually destroyed Thunderfang's physical body.
Sora joining Ras' mission
Arin ran to the ninja after Thunderfang's death, which angered Ras, but he let him go. However, he came to them some time later and called Arin to leave. The young ninja went with his master, but Sora decided to go with them as well. Although Ras was against her joining, after Arin convinced him that the Elemental Master of Technology could be useful on their mission, Ras finally agreed and the three of them set off on their journey.
Over the next few days, Ras, Arin, and Sora rode across the First Land on motorbikes that Sora had created for them using her Elemental Power of Technology.
One day, Ras left the young ninja for a while to communicate with his master, whom he did not want them to know about. He learned from them who held the secrets of the ways how to get to the Underworld. When he returned to the ninjas, Sora asked him how he could suddenly know how to get to the Underworld, but an unpleasant Ras did not answer her. The three then got on their motorbikes and set off, with Ras explaining that they were on their way to the city of Abracalabria in the realm of Mysterium. As they rode, Sora asked him again how he had learned this, but Ras told her not to be annoying and not to ask questions.
Ras fighting the Wizards
When they arrived at the gates of Abracalabria in the evening, Ras requested an audience with Pontifex Magicus, but the guard told him that strangers were no longer welcome in the city. Although Arin and Sora wanted to leave, Ras became angry and attacked the wizards and the cyclopses guarding the city. He easily managed to neutralize both the cyclopses and the wizards, making his way into the city.
Ras with Gandalaria
There, however, he noticed that some of the inhabitants, including Pontifex Magicus, were under an unknown curse. The guard then tried to explain to them that an unknown force had attacked them the previous night and sucked the souls out of some of the inhabitants. Then, Gandalaria came to them, recognizing and greeting Arin and Sora, although not knowing who Ras was despite his involvement during the Ritual of the Blood Moon. He tried to find out from her how they defeated the attackers, but just then it became dark and a mysterious fog came over the city.
Along with the fog, an unknown ghost appeared in the sky, which Ras did not recognize. However, Arin noticed that it was Kur, one of the Forbidden Five. Then, the invisible spirits of the Dragonian Warriors began to attack the inhabitants and drain their souls, which led to Ras, Arin, and Sora starting to defend themselves against the invisible forces. Ras asked the young ninjas to flee, as the Pontifex Magicus was no longer of any value to him, but Sora wanted to help the people. A moment later, Gandalaria revealed that she also knew where the path to the Underworld was, and therefore Ras ordered the ninjas to protect her, as she could help them on their quest. However, to Ras's dismay, the attackers managed to hollow the sorceress, leaving Ras unsure of how to proceed. Then the sun rose and Kur and the Dragonian warriors disappeared. Sora then suggested that they take Gandalaria to her monastery and look for her map to the Underworld there, to which Ras agreed.
Getting trapped inside Gandalaria's monastery
When they arrived at the monastery, they activated the security system that the sorceress had prepared there. Ras claimed that it would not be a problem, but then he and the others were disturbed by the traps that had been set there. The portals on the ground began to slowly suck their legs in, so that they could not move. Ras asked Sora to do something and use her Elemental Power, but there was no technology around. Arin managed to use Gandalaria's crystal ball, which created magical fish, which everyone caught and climbed out of the portals.
Ras talking to his master
All of them then went to the library, where they began to search the scrolls and look for the map that Sora finally found. While Sora and Arin took care of Gandalaria, Ras came out of the monastery into the courtyard when his master called him into his void. He ordered him something, which Ras confirmed that he would do and then he found himself back in reality, where the young ninjas saw him. Then the three of them set off on a journey to the Underworld.
During their journey through Mysterium, Ras explained to the young ninja that the inhabitants of the Underworld protect their land, which is why the entrance always changes location. Arin was curious about who went to the Underworld after dying, since the deceased went to the Spectral Lands, to which Ras replied that disgraced warriors go to the Underworld, but that was irrelevant to their goal. When he was about to continue their journey to the new entrance location, Sora used her abilities to temporarily disable his bike, which annoyed Ras, but he did not further discuss it and continued on the journey.
After defeating the Monster Skull
After some time, they arrived at a village in Mysterium full of Skulkin, and one was seen entering the Underworld through a door in the ground. Ras followed him and opened the door behind him, but the entrance disappeared. At that moment, a Monster Skull appeared behind them and began to attack them. Ras immediately attacked the monster and after a short fight, knocked off all its limbs, leaving only its ribcage and a skull. The monster then told them that they had achieved victory, which was the only thing that the disgraced warriors of the Underworld valued, and therefore granted them the opportunity to enter the land.
Ras meeting Kruncha and Nuckal
After entering the Underworld, they met Kruncha and Nuckal, whom Ras asked where to find the Forge of the Forgotten. Although Nuckal wanted to tell him, Kruncha stopped him and demanded something from Ras in return. However, the tiger was not interested in playing their games, so he used his hammer and knocked both of their heads off. The defeated Skulkin then told him the way to the forge.
Ras persuading Arin into using Sora
When the three of them arrived at the forge, Sora asked how it worked. Ras explained that in order for the forge to work, someone had to enter the Casket of Bones. Sora tried to figure out how this someone would get out again, to which Ras replied that they would not. He then told her that this was the reason why he had tolerated her for so long and that this was the way to help him. However, Arin stood up for his friend and disagreed with Ras' plan. The tiger gave them a choice of either he or Sora entering the casket. He tried to reason with Arin by saying that when he found him, he was just a weakling and he had turned him into a warrior who had to make difficult decisions, especially if they truly loved their parents. Ras demanded that Arin showed him the courage it took to bring his parents back and have the strength to save his family. Arin told him that he should never have trusted him and decided to give up on their goal, which angered Ras and he decided to attack the young ninjas.
Ras using his powered-up form
Ras easily destroyed Arin's Spinjitzu tornado and caught him by the leg as he jumped, but Arin used Object Spinjitzu on Ras's hand and threw him away. The tiger, who was aware of the ninjas' powers, activated his red form, gaining strength from his master. He managed to throw both the ninjas to another rock island of the Underworld below them and jumped after them. Arin used Object Spinjitzu again and threw a bone he found at the tiger, which Ras redirected into the rocks above them, which fell on them, allowing Sora and Arin to escape while Ras was still trapped under the rocks.
Speaking to his master with the new Source Dragon Icon
After Ras freed himself from the rocks, he managed to find a person, whom he sacrificed and placed in the Casket of Bones, killing them in the process. Ras then activated the Forge of the Forgotten and after a while pulled out the newly created Source Dragon Icon from the hot lava.
Ras getting ready to fight
At that time, his master called him to his void, where Ras showed him the Dragon Icon and said that despite endless interruptions from the ninja, he had finally succeeded. He then made it clear to the master that their plan would continue as they needed and the glory of his master would come soon.
When Ras found himself in reality, several Greenbone Warriors and some Skulkin came to the Forge and surrounded him. The Greenbone Leader was outraged that Ras had used the Forge and demanded Ras' demise so that all the users of the Forge would remain dead. Ras replied that they were welcome to try, took his hammer and the new Dragon Icon sword and ran towards his opponents.
After battling the Greenbone Warriors and Skulkin, Ras managed to defeat and possibly kill some of them. Then he created a new armor from their bones and also began wearing the Greenbone Leader's helmet and skull face mask. Ras then used the portal gate in the Underworld and travelled to the Monastery of Gates in the City of Temples, where he hid. When the ninja left from there, he emerged from the shadows and walked to the portal gate to the Monastery of Spinjitzu.
When Ras came from the portal gate in the Monastery of Spinjitzu, he encountered Geo and Alfonzo Frohicky with hollowed Cole and the Finders, who were horrified by his presence. Ras demanded that they submit to him, but Frohicky told him that ninja never quit, but as Ras pointed out, they were not the ninja. As the tiger began to approach them, Frohicky threw soup on his face, which greatly angered Ras, so he took out his weapons and ran towards the fleeing Geo and Frohicky.
Ras threw Geo at the portrait of Master Wu in the Monastery of Spinjitzu, then tried to change his and Frohicky's perspective on the ninja for leaving them alone. When Frohicky attempted to disarm Ras of his hammer using his tongue but the tiger leapt into the air and threw Frohicky on the ground, injuring him. Ras taunted Geo by claiming that fighting down to his last breath would not take long to overpower.
Geo fusing Ras' armor with the training obstacle
A weakened Frohicky pressed a button on the ground to activate the monastery's training arena, which caused Ras to fall and lose his hammer. Geo took the opportunity to strike him with the hammer, sending him flying to another part of the course and dropping his forge icon when he landed. Geo used his Elemental Power to fuse Ras' bone breastplate to part of the training course, but Ras soon tore the armor apart to free himself. Ras declared that he did not need a weapon to destroy him and used martial arts to defeat Geo, kicking his hammer out of Geo's hand and blocking his punches before kicking Geo and grabbing him by the throat. He reprimanded Geo, claiming that he was as lost as the Finders he had "failed" to protect, before throwing him into the air and punching him to the ground.
Ras brutally defeating Rontu
Ras reclaimed his icons and trapped Geo beneath the monastery's training arena. The tiger then demanded Frohicky to take him to Wu's study but Frohicky smiled as something was coming from the east, which Ras didn't realize until Rontu arrived to his rescue, striking Ras with her tail. Ras told Rontu that he had once captured a Source Dragon and asked if he should fear a weakened "lizard" on her last legs. Rontu asserted that Ras' ancestor, Zarkar, would be ashamed of the last of his tribe for causing so much chaos and fighting without honor. Ras revealed his two dragon icons, which stunned Rontu, then struck them to power them up and attacked her and taunted Rontu over the Egalt's death. The two fought, with Ras gaining the upper hand, despite Rontu fighting him with everything she had but Ras caused her to crash into the monastery's roof and injure herself. After the battle, Ras dragged Frohicky to the monastery entrance and ordered him to lead him to Master Wu's study.
Ras with Wu trapped inside the protective container
After Frohicky lead him into Wu's study inside the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Ras seized a scroll detailing methods for locating and containing energy.[14] Subsequently, he received the protective container from his master,[15] which he used to imprison Master Wu. Following this, Ras journeyed to the Monastery of Gates, where he repurposed the portal gates to function solely for his use. This alteration allowed him to sent anyone who attempted to use the gates to the farthest corners of the Merged Lands, granting him unrestricted access.[16][17]
At the Monastery of Gates, Ras told the captured Wu how the ninja are lost in the furthest parts of the Merged Lands, and declared that nothing would stand in his and his master's way.
Ras used a portal gate to travel to an unnamed realm. There he returned to the Shadow Dojo and informed his master of the Source Dragon Icon he had created.
Sora mentions Ras to Lloyd and Arin when she used examples that everyone will see them in the Kingdom of Imperium when they were going to the Public Shaming Platform.
When coming through the Phantasm Cave, Sora and Lloyd were both confronted by illusions of Ras. In Sora's illusion, he was with Empress Beatrix inside a big blue screen, shooting lightning at her. In Lloyd's illusion, Ras appeared alongside Master Wu, claiming that Lloyd would never be enough. After that, they both grew big and overwhelmed Lloyd.
