The Mother Sun is the sun of the Wyldness and the creator of the Phoenix and source of their powers.

After the creation of the Wyldness, Mother Sun created the Phoenix as the first inhabitants of Chima and gave them her powers.

At some point in time, the Mother Sun, alongside the rest of the Wyldness, became corrupted by Thunderfang's dark powers via a curse unleashed when Lord Argus struck the Gong of Shattering. This was eventually undone by Asa.

Following the Merge, it is unknown what happened to the Mother Sun, since the Merged Lands currently has only one sun, while the fate of the other suns that existed in the realms before the Merge also remains ambiguous.

  • When a phoenix dies, it returns to the sun and is reborn.[1]
  • The Mother Sun being said to be at the origin of the Phoenix and their powers and the Source Dragon of Motion being the source of the Fire element could mean that they are the same entity but in different cultures. When asked if it was correct, Chris "Doc" Wyatt replied, "No comment."[2]
    • He later said he liked the idea.[3]
