The Phoenix, also known as the Ancient Clan of the Fire Wings, the Guardians of Chima, and the Custodians of Cavora, are a race of powerful fire spirits created by the Mother Sun. As the caretakers of civilization in Chima, the Phoenix protected the land of Chima from various threats such as the Forbidden Five during the Wyldness medieval period[2] and the Hunters throughout its history. They constructed many cities throughout Chima, which are now in ruins.[3]

Trivia
Trivia[]
- The Eagles have a book about the Phoenix Tribe which they considered completely ridiculous. However, Eris, Laval and Cragger climbed to the top of a frozen waterfall and met the Phoenix tribe, thus discrediting the notion that the book was completely false.
- The Phoenix are related to the eagles, but it is unknown to what extent this is true since the Phoenix were created by Mother Sun.
- According to Fluminox, the Phoenix are born from the sun and they return there, implying that the Phoenix do not reproduce. However, Flinx is stated to be a child, contradictorily implying that they are born young and grow from there.
- According to the Eagles book on the Phoenix, the Phoenix have "the gift of fire, immortality, and the power of healing".
- According to the book The Battle for Chima, the Phoenix Tribe did not fend off the Crawlers when they attacked Mount Cavora because of Tormak's advice to King Fluminox suggesting that tribes of Chima need to learn to fight united.
- The Phoenix can CHI-up without CHI, as seen in with Fluminox and Flinx.[4][5]
