Cragling mud

“The mud the dragons are stealing, it's the source of our life energy, our very essence.”

Cragling mud is a type of mud from the Land of Madness. It's the life force of the Craglings and can be used as a meal. Certain portions of the mud are sourced from the Craglings' burial site, which is enriched with dragon energy, providing the dragons with their powers.^[1]

Beyond Madness[]

After Arin, Sora, Riyu. and Lloyd were united with Nya outside of the Cragling Village, the ninja were honored with a feast involving large bowls of Cragling mud. While Sora was apprehensive of tasting the mud at first, she reluctantly began eating it after watching Arin happily shoveling it into his mouth. The ninja then learned from King Crag-Nor that the pair of Earth Dragons attacking their village had been feeding from the mud sourced from the Cragling burial grounds and were essentially consuming the very life force of the Craglings.

During the final confrontation with the Earth Dragons, Riyu overcharged the mud from the burial grounds with his dragon energy as the Earth Dragons fed on the mud. This caused the dragons to overload and release the energy they had consumed, restoring it to the Cragling burial grounds.

The Shape of Motion[]

After discovering the dying Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons lying inside the Land of Madness, Sora and Arin called for help from their allies. Amongst those that answered the call were the Craglings, who brought bowls of their sacred mud to feed to the Matriarch. Arin noted that the Craglings must have had high respect for Riyu, as they would never share their sacred mud with anyone else. In spite of their efforts however, the Matriarch ultimately passed not long after.
