Plot

Plot[]

At the Administration, Agents Allen and Underwood complain about the lack of action, unaware that Arin and Sora had infiltrated the Administration to look for info about Arin's parents in the Department of Reassignment, where they had been sending people recovered in the Merge to the wrong places. As they were searching however, they discover the information was all undocumented as the Manager of the Reassignment Department had abruptly quit without reason. Pretty soon, they both get caught and are forced to escape into the Land of Madness, where they meet up with Riyu, who was waiting by the Explorer.

At the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Lloyd attempts to give into his visions to try and locate the Shadow Dojo, but gets nowhere before confiding in Nya whether or not to believe them while Wyldfyre, sporting a new hairstyle, is practicing her Heat powers, including using a method called Boulder Golf. As they watch her, Lloyd relates to how he is trying to live up to a legacy himself before they both express how they miss Kai, who was trapped in the Nether-Space, and Lloyd then changed the subject to the well-being of Arin and Sora.

As they move through the Kingdom of Madness, Arin and Sora discover a dragon flying over before collapsing and discover it was the Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons, fatally wounded and her Crown of Horns stolen. They both call for the rest of the team as well as have the Craglings to try and keep her stable. The Matriarch manages to telepathically warn Lloyd that "The Source Dragons are in grave danger" and show the ninja a scroll before succumbing to her wounds. Wyldfyre then finds a baby dragon in the Matriarch's pouch, who is her daughter and the next in line. Riyu leads the ninja to where the Mountain Dragons fled to.

At the dojo, Ras over looks Cinder and Nokt's practice battle before Ras halts it by activating the control implant on the back of the latter's head to remind him it is practice before they make plans to head to the Tournament of the Sources.

Elsewhere, the ninja and dragons make their way to Riyu's herd when they are intercepted by a group of Imperium mercenaries, who had overheard Riyu, Zanth, and Heatwave's roar of grief. Lloyd discovers the mercenaries, called the Freebooters, led by Rapton, were now bounty hunting dragons before accusing the latter of killing the Matriarch, which he denies. Just as the tide was about to turn, Riyu's herd arrives to scare the Freebooters away before they lead them to their new home in the World Forest where they deliver Eridany to them. Later at the monastery, while the ninja are discussing the events that had just occurred, the Source Dragon of Motion shows up and explains that there's a mysterious enemy who keeps killing dragons and that she thinks they are coming for the Source Dragons next. Lloyd shows her the scroll he found in the Matriarch's hand, which contains a map. The Source Dragon of Motion explains that the map is displaying the City of Temples where the tournament is being held. Because of this, the ninja and the Source Dragon of Motion decide that the ninja should compete in the tournament since they think the mysterious enemy will also compete, giving the ninja an opportunity to catch them.
