Janus Melons

Overview

“The stew helps dragons with the Wasting Sickness. If it'll help big dragons, imagine what it'll do for tiny people... maybe cure anything!”

Janus Melons are a variety of melon from the Wyldness and the Jagged Tunnels. Janus Melons are one of two ingredients used to make Janus Melon Stew.

History

History[]

Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

Fugitives From Madness[]

After discovering a scale shed by Egalt, Wyldfyre realized that he was suffering from late stage Wasting Sickness and used Janus melons to create a stew for him. Although Egalt at first declined the stew in spite of Wyldfyre's noting that the stew helped to ease the pain of wasting sickness, he gulped it down after the latter suggested that Egalt's grumpiness stemmed from his personality rather than as a symptom of the disease.

Enter the City of Temples[]

When visiting the Training plateau of the Dragon Masters to retrieve Zane, Lloyd was given another bowl of Janus melon stew from Wyldfyre to give to Egalt. Lloyd held onto the bowl when he was attacked by both Dragon Masters as a test of his abilities to serve as a Master for the Ninja. Upon his successful completion of the test, Egalt noted that Lloyd had not spilled even a single drop of the stew before gulping it down.

Dragons Rising, Season 3[]

Their Draconic Majesty's Request[]

Wyldfyre collected Janus Melons from the Jagged Tunnels to make Janus Melon stew for Roby in an attempt to cure him of his decayed state, but it didn't work.

Trivia[]

  • Janus Melons look similar to Wyldmelons, but they are notably larger, roughly the size of the hand of Wyldfyre's mech.[1]
    • The exterior shape of both melons appear similar to that of starfruit, though their green and seedy innards seem to be inspired by the horned melon.
