Trivia
Trivia[]
- The LEGO Ninjago Trading Card Game series refers to this season as "Dragon Storm."[24]
- Chris "Doc" Wyatt stated his favorite episode from the season is the 17th episode.[25]
- The season will introduce two new realms.[28]
- According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, this season will be darker than the previous ones.[30]
- There will be a line referencing Christofern in this season.[31]
- This is the first season since Crystalized to feature Jay on a poster.
- It is also the first season of Dragons Rising to feature all the ninja (from both generations) on one poster.
- Despite this, the last poster to feature all of the original ninja as part of the ninja team was Seabound, as Nya was Samurai X for the Crystalized poster, and Jay is featured as an antagonist on this season's poster.
- It is also the first season of Dragons Rising to feature all the ninja (from both generations) on one poster.
- The first teaser has a shot of Thunderfang roaring, but it is flipped horizontally from the original episode.
- On April 1, 2025, writers Kevin Burke and Chris "Doc" Wyatt each made a two truths and one lie post as a sneak peek at the season on Bluesky.
- Burke's three statements were:
- Without Nya, the Gates to Androzani will not open.
- Mr. Frohicky will be denied personal rewards.
- Sora barfed on Zane.[32]
- The first statement is the lie: Mr. Frohicky mentioned he wasn't interested in personal rewards anyway, and it was mentioned that Sora once barfed on Zane.
- The first statement is a reference to the sixth serial of the 21st season of Doctor Who.
- Wyatt's three statements were:
- The Merlopians welcome their new protector.
- Leaf Blade serves as regent of the Mountain Tribe.
- Vengestone can be known by another name.[33]
- The first statement is the lie: Leaf Blade serves as the regent for Eridany until she comes of age, and while the Lightning-Tides are aware of Vengestone, they are unfamiliar with its name and abilities, which leads them to simply refer to them as "Glow Rocks."
- Burke's three statements were:
- In the intro when Wyldfyre is fighting Nokt, a green glow can be briefly seen. The model of Nokt used is the one where he has the control device Ras used in Ninjago: Dragons Rising Season 2.
- Part 1 exhibits notable parallels with both Rise of the Snakes and Seabound.
- In Rise of the Snakes, the plot revolves around the main villain's pursuit of ancient artifacts, specifically the Prismatic Blades in Season 3 and the Fangblades in Season 1, to awaken a massive creature, which ultimately leads to betrayal when it is freed in the penultimate episode (Thunderfang devouring the souls of the Forbidden Five, while Pythor was eaten by the Great Devourer). Both final episodes focus on the ninja battling the colossal threats.
- In Seabound, the two colossal creatures (Thunderfang and Wojira) are depicted as chaotic beings capable of generating destructive storms, and the main antagonists intend to tap into their powers but get betrayed, with Kalmaar trying to control Wojira to command the Fury of the Storm but gets eaten by Wojira, while the Forbidden Five seek to liberate Thunderfang for greater power but end up losing their souls to him.
- This is the first season of Dragons Rising where Ras isn't a member of the villainous faction.
- The intro for this season is the first Dragons Rising season that features a remixed version of "We Rise". It mirrors how Rise of the Snakes and Legacy of the Green Ninja both used the Weekend Whip for their intros, whereas Rebooted used a Weekend Whip remix.
- In the first half of the season, Zane is the mascot character and has a more prominent role. Coincidentally, he is also the mascot and focus character of Season 3 of the original series.
- This is the first season to include a minifigure of P.I.X.A.L. in several sets of a season.
- This is the second season to end with the ninja separated and at disadvantage, the first being Sons of Garmadon, with the original four and Master Wu being sent to the First Realm whilst Lloyd and Nya remained in Ninjago.
- Kevin Burke stated that the overall theme for this season is consequences.[34]
- This season shares many similarities with Season 5 of the original show:
- Both have main antagonistic factions that consists of ghosts
- Morro is involved in both seasons
- The ninja team up with a bounty hunter who aids them in their battle against the spectral beings, in Season 5 it's Ronin while in Dragons Rising Season 3 it's Jay
- Villains have a goal in aiding a massive creature
- The massive creature in both seasons need souls for their plans
- Something tragic happens to Cole that involves ghosts
- Lloyd visits the Cursed Realm
- The Cursed Realm has a major role in both seasons
- The spectral factions both come from the Cursed Realm
