Tech Titans Clash![]
Shortly following the Ninja's disqualification from the Tournament of the Sources, Sora, Nya, and Arin began searching throughout the City of Temples for some way to acquire vehicles for the upcoming Cavern Run to stay in the tournament. As the trio wandered, Sora muttered aloud how they have yet to find a junkyard, leading Nya to ask in a dismissive manner why they needed a junkyard. Although Arin tried to stop Nya, it was too late, and Sora immediately swung her head over with an annoyed expression, explaining how junk could still be made into working machines. The three then ran into another woman who pointed them to the City's Junkyard, but warned it was manned by Gerard Gearhead, whom she described as being a "grouch."
As the trio made their way to the junkyard, they watched as a Security Bot threw someone out of the premises, accompanied by an old man grumbling loudly that he had no time to waste on anyone who knew nothing about mechanics. Using a combination of her power of Water and the newly acquired element of Lightning, Nya dispatched the Security Bot so that the three could enter the junkyard. Sora called out to Gearhead, who responded curtly to the trio, addressing them as "brats." This quite agitated Nya, who stepped forward to state she wasn't a child anymore but an adult, though Arin once again held her back and urged Sora to handle the talking. Nonplussed by Gearhead's remarks, Sora explained that she and her friends needed a binary load-lifting servo, gyro compressors, and a repulsion converter. Nevertheless, Gearhead refused to be swayed, dismissing Sora based on her youth and appearance as likely not even having an understanding of basic mechanics while accusing her of memorizing an engineering manual. When Sora protested she had built her own mech before, Gearhead retorted that he was responsible for creating the City of Temples' Security Bots, which had since served for decades!
As negotiations broke down, Sora challenged Gearhead to a mech building challenge, with the winner deciding what to do with the parts Sora had requested. Unfettered, Gearhead accepted Sora's challenge. After some time, both Sora and Gearhead had constructed their mechs and it was now time for a battle between machines to commence. Noting that Gearhead's mech relied more on strength than agility, Sora first attempted to use her power of Technology to weaken it, discovering to her dismay that the parts used to construct Gearhead's mech were just as old as the Security Bots and as such, her powers had no effect. Changing tactics, Sora used her powers to increase her own mech's mobility, controlling it to make a rapid move against Gearhead's mech's back. Unfortunately, even the back of Gearhead's mech was well defended, deploying grappling hooks to fling Sora's mech back to the other side of the junkyard.
Devising a new strategy, Sora commanded her mech to charge head on, where it was immediately smashed to pieces by Gearhead's mech. As Gearhead declared victory, Sora discreetly used her powers to reconstitute the scattered parts of her mech into several smaller mechs. With too many small targets to focus on at once, Gearhead's mech could do nothing as they overwhelmed his defenses and shut down his mech's power supply, defeating it. Accepting his defeat, Gearhead allowed Sora, Nya, and Arin to take whatever they wanted from the junkyard, though Gearhead declined to admit that Sora was a great engineer, instead begrudgingly conceding that he wanted to see what Sora could create with the junk she was going to use. With a smile, Sora invited the elderly mechanic to tomorrow's cavern run, declaring that she had already thought up of a great vehicle to debut.
As the trio walked away from the junkyard, carrying all the parts they needed, Sora began explaining the idea she had for a combo vehicle with splitting functions, having been inspired by the smaller robots she made today.

Trivia[]
- The comic takes place after the ninja decided to participate in the Cavern Run during "United We Fall."
- Although she is cut off from finishing her sentence, the comic seems to imply that all of the original ninja are adults now, as Nya angrily retorts "I'm not a child anymore. I'm..."
- The Ninja Team Combo Vehicle is referred to Sora as the "Omega Combiner," though this is possibly a working name she came up for the vehicle.
