New Blood Ninja
New Blood Ninja[]
Sometime after the ninja meet Frak, Wyldfyre asks Arin if he could be a danger for them in the tournament and if he has any skills. Arin tells her a story that takes place before the Merge.
In the past, Arin and Frak listened to Gayle Gossip talk about the ninja saving the day again. Hearing this, Arin suggested to Frak that they should train, so they made wooden katanas to practice with. However, the katanas ended up breaking during their training. Frak then had the idea to create shurikens using old bike tires. Unfortunately, when they threw the tires, the wind blew them back towards them.
Afterwards, they decided to try and help people like the ninja do. Spotting some people struggling with a sofa, they decide to take it from them to help. As they ascend the stairs, Frak unexpectedly sets the sofa down just before Arin reaches the top, resulting in both Arin and the sofa tumbling back down the stairs and landing on one of the people they intended to help. The man comments on the irony of their situation, noting that they had just managed to get the sofa down when Arin and Frak took it from them, only for it to fall on him. Meanwhile, a woman points out that they were actually trying to dispose of the sofa rather than helping to bring it into the house.
Arin and Frak see an S.O.G. biker trying to put a bag in his bike. They decide to assist him, and after their help, he rides off. As they discuss how they made a good choice by helping someone in need, a woman approaches them, claiming she has been robbed and asked if they saw the thief. Suddenly, Arin and Frak come to the realization that they have helped a criminal, so they quickly respond that they did not see anything.
The next day, Arin and Frak create build dragons from junk and fly them, only to crash into each other. After the crash, they discuss their lack of balance, prompting Arin to climb to the edge of a building in an attempt to find his equilibrium. Suddenly, a pigeon flys over and pecks at his foot, causing him to lose his footing and tumble into a barrel, rolling through a nearby construction site. When the barrel finally comes to a stop at the bottom, it bursts open, leaving Arin unable to maintain his spin. In that moment, he unexpectedly performs a primitive form of Spinjitzu for the first time. Throughout the day, they experiment with different methods to replicate his spinning technique, but none are successful.
As Arin finishes his story, Wyldfyre began to asked about how Frak developed his baking skills. Arin then began to share that story.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- The comic takes place during "They Gather for the Feast", but most of the comic is a flashback to sometime before the Merge.
- The fact that the Mechanic appears in a flashback means either that the flashback is set before Crystalized or that he escaped from Kryptarium Prison even before the Merge.
- The comic reveals that Arin performed his wonky version of Spinjitzu for the first time before the Merge.
- Arin and Frak recreate a Bone Guard using a pole, implying that they were a known threat before the Merge.
- On the background, Kai is seen skateboarding in his armor gi, which is a reference to the events of "Father vs Son!". This possibly implies that the flashback takes place sometime during Seabound, which would place the whole Greenbone Warriors saga of the Ninjago: Legacy Magazine before this season.
- However, Cole is also seen wearing his dojo gi, which aside from the 'Legacy comics, he only started to wear after Crystalized.
