The Battle of the Elemental Masters! is the 122nd issue of the Ninjago Magazine. It includes 892413 Jay and Source Tournament Zane appears on the cover.

After the battle between Frak and Cole, the ninja returned to their apartments to rest, while Arin went out to continue his investigation while thinking about if Wu's actions could have really caused the Merge. After buying a pie, he saw a courier who was asking where is the museum located. After helping him, Arin saw how a museum director unpacked the crab tooth. However, this did not help Arin to find any new information about the Merge, so he returned to the ninja's apartments and saw that everyone is already sleeping.
When Arin realized that he also needs to rest, Nya suddenly woke up and started complaining about how the ninja are the reason Jay lost his powers, after which she attacked everyone in the room. After a failed negotiation with her, Lloyd and Sora had to deal with a giant wave, while the other ninja without powers were watching outside. Sora used her power of Balance to stay on an explosive barrel, after which she helped Lloyd. Then, the Green Ninja used his power to cause an explosion, which finally knocked back Nya's sense.
Passing by, Roby heard the explosion and asked the ninja about what happened. After the ninja said that they were just training with their new powers, Roby left, and Nya explained to the others that she doesn't remember what just happened. The ninja realized that someone was trying to sabotage them when the crab tooth was found under Nya's sleeping bag. Nya said that she is not going to touch that thing again, and the other ninja decided to return it to the museum.

- While in the comic, the crab tooth is transported to the Temple City Museum, it was revealed in "The Great Zane Robbery" that it was still located in the Algae farmers' village.
- The comic takes place during "Truth and Lies."
- The comic shows that a day passed between Cole vs Frak fight and Nya vs Nokt fight, which wasn't implied in the show.
- Although it isn't revealed who put the crab tooth under Nya's sleeping bag, it is possible that it was Bleckt, as it was revealed in "The Final Game" that he was constantly plotting to get rid of the ninja during the tournament.
- This comic is similar to "Clash in the Trash!", as both are trying to work with one of the current Dragons Rising mysteries and end up completely contradicting the series as a result.
