The Administration

Overview

This article is about the organization. For the episode, see The Administration (episode).
“The Administration isn't a police force. They're a bureaucracy. Lying doesn't require a license or a permit so they don't care. In fact, they lie too... tons.”

The Administration is a bureaucratic organization stationed within the Land of Madness, composed of hundreds of Administration Agents and the departments they manage; all under the control of the Administrator.

History

History[]

Background[]

Before the Merge, the Administration existed as a region in the former Realm of Madness, where their corporate work was mostly done with gross incompetence and arduous complexity. It had functioned presumably for ages as waiting lines within the Administration would take years to process; with whole families that date back by several generations would often inherit the same respective place in line. During his time in the Realm of Madness, Lord Garmadon became aware of it.[1]

After the Merge, however, they emerged as the central hub of all bureaucratic activities in the Merged Realms, where they took their self-appointed role of superintending all the combined realms with a degree of seriousness. The Administration would later comprised a group of dedicated denizens from across the realms known as Administration Agents, who diligently worked to ensure that everyone and everything within the Merged Realms remained in line and functioned smoothly.[2]

Dragons Rising, Season 1[]

The Administration[]

The Administration first appears when Arin and Lloyd went through the same portal after an agent decided to destroy one of the Dragon Cores. Walking through the building, the two ran into Roderick and Underwood together as they were nearly caught until Zane (unknown at that time) gave them fake permission slips to spare Arin and Lloyd.

Before that, the agents arrested Zane for numerous failed portal activation and has him work at the mail sorting room due to his nature as a nindroid.

After finding Zane and freeing him, the Ninja went to scramble for the Dragon Core where Arin learns that the Administration is responsible for realm reassignment and barely misses Jay working there.

With the Dragon Core secured, Zane hurriedly filled a form in triplicate to gain a Level 3 Portal Access Punch Card to enable the Ninja to escape the Administration.

Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

The Shape of Motion[]

Arin and Sora snuck into The Administration to enter the Department of Reassignment in order to find information on Arin's parents. However, Jay's disappearance had left a mass amount of unfinished data, meaning their mission was unsuccessful. They were then ambushed by Administration Agents, but used a smoke bomb to make their escape.

Dragons Rising, Season 3[]

The Shatter Dragon[]

Allen and Underwood were walking back to the Administration building when Thunderfang's attempted reign of chaos started.

Human Resources[]

Allen and Underwood confronted Jay and the Ninja for their infiltration of the building and has them arrested with Agent Etha. Not knowing that it was all part of Jay's plan to get them free by distracting Agent Etha, use Agent Leopold's gym shorts to gas the entire building, and tricking the agents to a birthday so they can enter the Land of Lee. After they left, the Spectral Dragonians attack the Administration.

Casket of Bones[]

The ghosts of Drix and the Spectral Dragonians invade the Administration and takes the soul of Underwood and a Munce agent before heading back to the Spectral Lands.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • A description for Jay in a issue of the Ninjago Magazine referred to the Administration as a realm, despite it being a region in the Land of Madness.
  • One of the Administration Agents referred to Zane as "a form genius" for filling out Forms A1022 and C1101 in a few seconds' time.
  • The Administration does not consider Nindroids to be people and classify any who work for them as "equipment, not personnel."[6][7]
  • The Administration has handbooks, some of which are present in the Mailroom, which contain detailed descriptions of their forms and regulations. Zane used this to acquire his "vast knowledge" of the Administration's procedures.[6]
  • Most Administration employees live in shared dorms, but managers like Jay get their own rooms.[8]
  • Several types of forms used by the Administration have been revealed in the series:
    • Permission forms (with photographs).[2]
    • "Suspected some people but it turned out fine" paperwork.[2]
    • "Tricked by fake forms" forms.[2]
    • "Defaulting of paperwork to a later date" form.[2]
    • Forms to "discuss objects, items, gadgets, and any other such whatzits" (stamped and notarized).[2]
    • Forms A1022 through C1101, necessary to acquire a Level 3 Portal Access Punch Card (in triplicate).[2]
    • 35-C91 Form ("designating approved intent to breach a wall or barricade on foreign soil"). This form requires a 5-21z Appendix and must be done in triplicate.[6]
    • "Intent to breach water" form.[6]
    • "Intent to breach walrus" form.[6]
    • 9-21C Form[9]
    • 51A Form[9]
    • 39ZZ Form[9]
  • Several types of codes and regulations enforced by the Administration have been revealed in the series:
    • Regulation 474-alpha-1 ("permission forms (must) have photos").[2]
    • Code 69-17 (too many failed portal attempts).[2]
    • Regulation 78-34B (the specifics of this regulation are unknown, although it has something to do with detainment).[2]
    • Addendum 47-A ("Anyone assisting a known fugitive shall be punished under the strictest guidelines."[6]
  • Special days within the Administration have been revealed in the series:
    • Casual Friday[10]
    • Bring Your Ninja Warrior Friends To Work Day[10]
  • The Administration has many similarities to the film The Matrix, and its agents operate on similar principles to those in The Matrix.
  • Cole, Frak, and Riyu the only ninja who haven't go the Administration.
