In the Mouth of the Monastery[]
Following the Battle of the Spectral Lands, Ras has disabled the various Portal gates and scattered the Ninja across the farthest reaches of the Merged Realms. Now, Kai, Jay, and Nya find themselves in an unknown monastery, unsure of where they are or where to go. As they gather around a fire, the trio discuss their current predicament and Jay suggests that they could look for a library or archive in the monastery to give them an idea of their whereabouts.
As the three began wandering through the monastery, they can't help but notice something seems off about it. For starters, Nya pointed out that the monastery seemed almost as if it were alive, with the ground beneath their feet being awfully squishy. In addition, Kai noted that a strong scent permeated from the monastery, growing stronger the deeper the three ventured. After sliding down a sloping passage, the trio found themselves in what appeared to be the monastery's hanger bay, accompanied with a strange gurgling sound echoing all around them.
While Nya and Kai examined the wrecked hanger bay, Jay inspected the slimy ground, recoiling in horror as he realized it was acid! And to make matters worse, the acid floor was suddenly rising! With danger apparent, Nya pointed out towards a ventilation shaft and suggested for the three to escape through it. As they began crawling through the narrow corridor, Jay pointed out that something was dangling above their heads. Although none knew what they were, all started to freak out when the dangling things began reaching out towards their faces! Finally annoyed, Nya summoned a tidal wave of Water to flush the trio out of the corridor and into the monastery's library.
As the three began rummaging through the library, Kai and Nya read aloud the book titles they could find, all of which seemed to relate to cooking or food in some way. Meanwhile, Jay found a pair of nunchucks. A little moment later, the ninja decided that the books in the library were useless in providing any semblance of assistance and decided to make their way back to the courtyard. As the three began to look for a way out, they were attacked by ravenous worms in another corridor, forcing them to fight back. After a moment of fighting, Kai proposed a retreat back to the library, having thought up of a plan involving the nautical knots they used to use to tie down the Destiny's Bounty. As the worms pursued the trio, the ninja used the library's tight corridors to lure their enemies together and tie them up into a large knot!
With no further surprises, the three returned to the Monastery Courtyard where they found to their surprise that their campfire was still roaring brightly. Sitting down beside the fire to rest, Nya noted that it would be a good time now to perform some meditation to regain clarity of the mind.
