The ninja have split up into teams to awaken the Arc Dragon of Focus, with Kai deciding to follow his sister, Nya, into Mysterium. As he now searched for Mysterium's Cave of Bells, Kai muttered to himself that he did not trust this realm, for something was always strange and wacky here. No sooner had he said that, Kai ran into a sentient, talking pumpkin who pointed out a hollowed sorcerer and warned Kai to keep his distance. Observing the sorcerer, Kai noted that the man's magic wand remained active and seemed to be responsible for bringing various inanimate objects to life.

As he observed his strange surroundings, Kai briefly warded off an animated thorn bush and smashed apart three rock-bramble crabs with Spinjitzu, grumbling all the while that the hollowed sorcerer was out of control. Turning his attention away from the shattered crabs, Kai was met by a flurry of carrots and coconuts, all summoned by the sorcerer, though Kai cut them apart with his Reveal Blade. At that moment, the sorcerer tripped and dropped his magic wand, which landed upon a Crystal ball and brought it to life.

Surprised at its newfound sentience, the crystal ball rolled off its table and accidentally flung the sorcerer's wand at Kai, narrowly missing him. As the wand landed upon the ground beneath Kai's feet, a massive chasm ripped open and Kai landed atop of a group of Mercurial mushrooms. While listening to chatter from the crystal ball, Kai used Spinjitzu to climb his way atop the mushrooms and out of the chasm. Upon reaching the ledge, and having finally lost patience, Kai expressed his desire to kick the magic wand but was stopped by the crystal ball. Instead, the crystal ball urged Kai to find a solution in the Sorcerer's hut, remarking that there was a grimoire inside that Kai could use.

Although Kai agreed with the crystal ball, he still intended to remove the magic wand and picked up a nearby stick to move it with. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Kai, an aphid was crawling on the stick and upon contact with the wand, the aphid was enlarged into a more formidable pest. Annoyed, Kai immediately attacked the enlarged aphid with his reveal blade, swatting it far off into the distance before making his way to the sorcerer's hut. Along the way, the crystal ball explained that prior to being hallowed, the Sorcerer had been conducting a spell from the grimoire to make his wand autonomous, and with any luck, perhaps a reversal spell was on the same page.

After entering the Sorcerer's hut, Kai discovered the grimoire and noted there were two spells written in Ninjargon. Starting with the first spell, Kai discovered that it turned off the lights in the hut. Moving outside with the grimoire, Kai then recited the second spell, which dispersed the magic of the wand and reverted everything it had affected, including the aphid and the crystal ball. With the ball having lost its sentience, Kai admitted he found it to be funny before continuing his search for Nya.
