The Mech Dragon was a Dragon Mech originally owned by Lee, which was also piloted with a mech. Jay took control of the Dragon Mech after planting a control implant on it.
History

Between You and Lee[]
Lee was first seen with the Mech Dragon when he sang his musical number of the Community of Lee, riding the Mech Dragon.
Casket of Bones[]
After sneaking to the backstage of the Community of Lee with Nya, Jay saw the Mech Dragon and said he wants one of these. Then he put a control implant on the Mech Dragon.
The Screaming Earth[]
When Lee rode the Mech Dragon to fight the Ninja, Jay activated the control device on the Mech Dragon, which caused Lee to get out so Jay can use it, although he was knocked out of the Mech Dragon when Lee fought back.
Under the Light of a Mechanical Moon[]
After Jay recovered, he hopped onto the Mech Dragon and followed the Ninja out of the Community of Lee to the Temple Bounty.
He later piloted the Mech Dragon when he went into the Spectral Lands but was driven back to the Spectral Monastery where the portal gate took him and the Ninja to the City of Temples.
The Vault of Focus[]
Jay was in the mech, when he and the Ninja were on the Monastery of Gates. When he quit, to aid the Ninja, he activated the Mech Dragon when he went in the smaller mech.
Chaos Reigns[]
Jay used the Mech Dragon to fight Zarkt in the Cave of Bells in Mysterium. While the Mech Dragon flew to fight the Spectral Dragonians, Jay used the smaller mech to fight Zarkt and used his Lightning power to defeat Zarkt.
After feeling a huge headache, due to the Life, Strength, and Focus Source Dragons leaving the Council of Sources, Nya and Kai boarded the Mech Dragon as Jay piloted the mech to the Monastery of Mysterium portal gate but ended up in a monastery in a place far away from Ninjago.

- The Mech Dragon bears a striking resemblance to Jiro.
- It is the third "Mech Rider" vehicle introduced of in the franchise, following the original Mech Rider and the Mech Storm Rider. Notably, this is the first Mech Rider associated with another ninja rather than Kai.
