Forbidden Spinjitzu is a powerful dark counterpart of the martial art of Spinjitzu, developed by the First Spinjitzu Master through the creation of two scrolls designed to amplify one's powers.

History

Never Trust a Human (flashback)[]

Thousands of years ago,^[1] Forbidden Spinjitzu was created by the First Spinjitzu Master. He made two scrolls containing their power and told his sons never to touch them. Later, after accidentally helping Aspheera overthrow King Mambo V, the sons of the First Spinjitzu Master used Forbidden Spinjitzu to put an end to Aspheera’s rule.

Corruption (flashback)[]

60 years in the past, Zane uses the Forbidden Scroll to upgrade his powers after losing his memories at the hands of Vex. With the scroll in his hand, Zane used Forbidden Spinjitzu to create soldiers, a dragon, and a harsher winter to rule over the Never-Realm.

Powerless[]

Aspheera sets her sights on getting the power of Forbidden Spinjitzu. The Ninja find the scroll first and Lloyd grabs it, unlocking his Forbidden Spinjitzu. Aspheera and the Ninja meet and a conflict ignites with Lloyd and Aspheera constantly losing and winning the scroll until the Serpentine sorceress grabs it for good and uses its power to defeat the Ninja.

Ancient History[]

When Lloyd attacks Aspheera, she uses Forbidden Spinjitzu to knock him off the scroll.

Under Siege[]

Aspheera uses Forbidden Spinjitzu to get rid of the Ninja's defenses to get to Wu.

Vengeance is Mine![]

As Aspheera uses the power of the scroll to break down the gates, Lloyd holds the second scroll and when Nya tells him to put it down for safety measures, he yells at her with a demonic tone but he snaps out of it and puts it down.

Later, Aspheera and the Ninja except for Kai and Nya use the scroll to fight against her, with Zane ending the conflict. However, the Nindroid was sent to the Never-Realm by the Serpentine witch using Forbidden Spinjitzu.

A Cold Goodbye[]

Wu later uses the art to try to stop the ninja from going to the Never-Realm and P.I.X.A.L. to send the ninja to the realm.

Secret of the Wolf[]

Returning from their recent battle, Grimfax tells the Ice Emperor of his victory only to be proven wrong by Vex. The Emperor then uses Forbidden Spinjitzu to punish Grimfax but decides to let him live under the condition that he atones for his mistakes.

A Fragile Hope[]

Upon discovering that the Ice Emperor is actually Zane, who has been corrupted by the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu, Lloyd attempts to seize the scepter from him. However, Zane counters Lloyd's attack by unleashing Forbidden Spinjitzu, striking him with a powerful blast of ice that renders him unconscious.

Once and for All[]

When Akita attempted to kill Zane, he countered with Forbidden Spinjitzu, freezing her arm. However, before he could take further action, Lloyd arrived.

Awakenings[]

During the battle between Zane and Lloyd, Zane uses Forbidden Spinjitzu to fight against Lloyd and Akita by freezing them both, but the two were freed when he regained his memory and destroyed the second scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu.

Power augmentation - Forbidden Spinjitzu can enhance the user’s power at an incredible level, even increasing their elemental powers, as young Wu managed to split a rock in half using Creation and as Wu stated, "gave us powers we had never felt before. It felt as if we had reach our true potential in an instant". Forbidden Spinjitzu is incredibly stronger than regular Spinjitzu, such as when it increased Lloyd's Energy to the point of making a hole in a wall and Zane's Ice to the point of single-handedly defeating Aspheera and her army. Another example was when he used it to take over the Never-Realm. When an Elemental Master uses Forbidden Spinjitzu, their hair is surrounded by fire, their eyes will glow with the color of their element, and a burst of energy will be infused within their body.
- Elemental creations - Forbidden Spinjitzu increases an Elemental Master's powers to allow them to create living creatures out of their respective element and control them,^[2] as Zane was able to use his powers to create and control the Blizzard Sword Masters, Blizzard Archers, and Boreal.
Banishment/Realm and time traveling - The Forbidden Spinjitzu also can channel enough Magic to banish or send someone/something to another realm and time. Aspheera managed to send the Titan Mech and Zane to the Never-Realm around 60 years into the past.^[3] P.I.X.A.L. also used Aspheera's staff (with the scroll) to send the ninja to the Never-Realm in the present.

Aggression and Corruption Risk - Consequently, the Forbidden Spinjitzu (or rather the scrolls that contain their powers) makes users susceptible to aggression and corruption, seemingly causing them to become addicted to it via prolonged usage until they turn evil. It slowly corrupts the user with prolonged usage and requires great willpower to overcome its evil. Side effects include making the user's voice demonic and a brief hesitation to give up the power.

This is the third martial art that the ninja learned, the first was Spinjitzu and the second was Airjitzu.
- Although this time, they only need to hold a Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu, and do not need training.
Forbidden Spinjitzu appears to be much stronger than regular Spinjitzu as shown in "Powerless" and "Never Trust a Human."
It's currently unknown why the First Spinjitzu Master created the art of Forbidden Spinjitzu in the first place.
- Considering how the First Spinjitzu Master created the Realm Crystal to allow interdimensional travel but only when absolutely necessary and he only told it to his sons and no one else, it was probable that he invented the Forbidden Spinjitzu in case there would be an enemy too powerful to face with regular Spinjitzu alone.
  - It must be noted, however, that the First Spinjitzu Master hid the scroll and told no one, not even his sons, anything about its location, although Wu did record the knowledge into his journal.
Despite the two having Forbidden Spinjitzu spinners and appearing to have the power in the promotional art, Kai and Nya didn't perform Forbidden Spinjitzu.
- The Blizzard Warrior in the 70684 Spinjitzu Slam - Kai vs Samurai set also has a Forbidden Spinjitzu spinner despite never performing Forbidden Spinjitzu either.
It has a greater effect on "pure" individuals.^[4]
The scroll caused P.I.X.A.L.'s eyes to glow despite her not having an element. This is because Forbidden Spinjitzu can operate on other sorts of power besides elemental ones.^[5]
It is the first advanced form of Spinitzu to be a dark counterpart. The second is Shatterspin.
