The fire sword is a special katana Kai used during his journey in the Land of Monsters.

At some point in time, Kai got the sword.
To Become a Monster[]
Kai used the sword to combat various Monsters as he traversed through the Land of Monsters. After stopping Daidan from destroying the Crystal egg, Kai briefly used the sword to ward off the angry dragon from attacking him.
Fallen Master[]
Kai used the sword in combat against the Centipede monster and to escape from the cocoon he was later entrapped in. After escaping, Kai used the sword to illuminate his wandering through the Cave of Change. Upon discovering Rusty, a gust of wind blew some of the flames into the mech's chest, reactivating it.
False Light[]
After jumping of Daidan, Kai used his sword to strike the Gimon-Ogu, causing an explosion and killing the monster.

- It's unknown how Kai got the sword.
- When a fan asked if Kai was infusing the sword he had with Fire or this is a special sword, Chris "Doc" Wyatt said "Great question. Yes, a special sword."[1]
