History[]

Quest for the Legend Beasts[]

Tooth or Consequences[]

Before the Heroes of Chima, Lavertus gave them their weapons that he upgraded while they were sleeping, including Laval's stick grenades, which he infused with Chi and turned into Chi Bangers. As Laval put them behind his back, he expressed his surprised at Lavertus having Chi. Which in response, Lavertus said he scavenged some from the Scorpions.

Later, to get rid of the Crawlers in the Scorpion Cave, Laval threw one of his Chi Bangers and warned his friends about it. The said Chi Banger exploded, knocking some of the Crawlers out. Then, Laval threw another Chi Banger, which trapped the rest of the Crawlers, except Scorm.

Season 3: Legend of the Fire Chi[]

The King Thing[]

After Laval ordered them to seal the cave the Hunters entered last time, Lennox and Leonidas threw Chi Bangers into the caverns, which sealed the cave as well as causing Stealthor, who was in the cave at the time, to escape.

Later, after landing on solid ground, Tormak used Chi Bangers to seal the caverns the Hunters, eventually causing them to escape.

Official description[]

In the mysterious and perilous Outlands, even innocent-looking vegetation may be a grave danger. When hurled at a target, these CHI-powered weapons release an explosive charge of energy on contact that can stun carnivorous plants long enough to escape their snapping leaves and ensnaring vines. Just make sure you don’t trip and fall while carrying them, or you might be the one who gets a shock![1]

Trivia[]

  • The CHI Bangers' name might be based on the flash-bang, a stun grenade used by most modern military and police forces.
  • The CHI Bangers themselves resembles a German World War 2 era Potato masher, further referenced by Lavertus when he calls them stick grenades in the TV series, a common moniker for them.
