Tooth or Consequences

Tooth or Consequences is the fifth episode of the second season of Legends of Chima and the 25th episode overall.

Plot

Plot[]

Cragger is once again dreaming about his father Crominus but this time in the Scorpion Caves, he chases after his father and tells him he has been trying to find him but Crominus tells him that he is closer than he thinks and that he needs to wake up, Cragger then awakes with Lavertus right in front of him, he asks him what he was doing and Lavertus says he heard him dreaming, he then speaks to Cragger in his usual manner and asks why Lavertus is doing this only when he talks to him, but Cragger they says he needs to find his father which Lavertus tells him to go do when Cragger notices that Lavertus is holding a pink scarf that belonged to Cragger's mother, Crunket when she was younger but Lavertus tries playing it off saying it's not her scarf and that he has other items of importance they can talk about but Cragger leaves to find his father. Worriz then wakes up when the Mother Tooth starts glowing and he realizes the legend of the tooth was right and that means his Wolf Legend Beast must be nearby, he goes searching for the Legend Beast when he runs into Cragger who is on his own mission, the two then team up so they can rescue both King Crominus and the Wolf Legend Beast.

The Crawlers then show up with the Wolf Legend Beast and King Crominus in tow but stop in their tracks when they hear something, Cragger tells Worriz to keep it down but he points out that his Legend Beast is there and plans to fight but Cragger holds him back as there are too many of them so they wait, the Wolf is then trying to escape it's chains but is subdued by the Scorpions, Cragger then sees his father and he tries to charge in but is held back by Worriz this time reminding me that he was the one who said there was too many of them, but Cragger tries to go after them when Plovar shows up and expresses how much he missed Cragger, he mentions that he was forced to clean the Spider Queen Spinlyn's teeth and calls the Spiders uglies when Spinlyn and her Spiders find them and locks them in with Crominus. Father and son then hug expressing how much they missed each other and Crominus asks if everyone else is alright, Cragger mentions Crooler is doing fine and their mother Crunket is fine, he then tells Crominus that Lavertus aka ShadoWind was the one that saved Crunket and returned her to the Crocodile Swamp, but this angers Crominus suggesting a bitter rivalry between him and Lavertus and tells his son he never meant to tell him this, not yet anyway and Cragger asks what he is referring to.

Laval and the others wake up to find Cragger and Worriz have left which Lavertus knew about and asks him why they didn't stop them to which Lavertus says he thought they'd be fine and then they see the two have been captured, they vow to rescue them but Lavertus warns them not to as the Crawlers will be expecting them and tells them to plan ahead, he then reveals that he upgraded each of their weapons so they can fight the Crawlers, he gives Gorzan a Banana Buster, Eris and Razar extra blades on their axes and gives Laval two CHI powered stink grenades and and a Royal Valious Sword to which this excites Laval as it's one of the rarest weapons in Chima as only four of them exist and asks how Lavertus got it as only the Lion Royal Families have those swords but Lavertus tells them to go and save their friends, avoiding the question for now, Laval then asks why he isn't coming as they could use his help freeing Cragger and Worriz, but when he mentions Crominus, that's when Lavertus declines and tells them once more to leave now.

The Crawlers are preparing their weapons and gear to get ready for the coming attack and Scorm and Spinlyn are arguing over who really dropped the CHI down in the Gorge of Eternal Depth, Braptor tries breaking it up but is instead caught in a web and stung by Scorm. Worriz then points out how the bugs are bugging each other and Crominus says that they'd probably fight each other if given the chance which gives Cragger an idea, outside, the other tribes show up and figure out how they can get into the caves, Rogon then pulls out a Boulder Boomer claiming it is very powerful and says he will open fire to make a path for the tribes and they start fighting the Crawlers, everyone CHI's up and defeat several of the Crawlers, Laval tells Bladvic it's time to sleep and he and the Bear Legend Beast sleep, defeating the Crawlers by laying on them. Scorm then announces the arrival of the other tribes and tells his troops to CHI up and go out to attack the tribes so they can't get their prisoners.

Laval and the others make it into the Scorpion Caves when they run into the Crawlers, he tells his team to go ahead so can leave behind some of his grenades and is able to defeat some of the Scorpions, after a short battle they arrive to where Cragger and the others are and start charging in. Cragger then says they need to help them, Worriz then takes the Mother Tooth and places it back into the Wolf Legend Beast's mouth, freeing her from the mind control and breaking herself and the others free and join the fight. Laval then rides on the Crocodile Legend Beast and gets off so Cragger and Crominus can ride it but Crominus tells him they heard the Lion Legend Beast in a nearby cave and that they aren't all safe until the Lion is rescued.

Cragger then tells Laval that in order to defeat the Crawlers they must make them defeat each other so Cragger goes to head behind the big Scorpion statue and Scorm says to ceasefire but then he and Spinlyn argue over who dropped the CHI again where Cragger reveals the truth; not too long ago, there was a disagreement between the Lions and Crocodiles and one of those Lions, Laval, dropped some CHI into the Gorge of Eternal Depth which leads to the cave system of the Crawlers and tells them that instead of worshipping a giant Scorpion or Spider, they should be worshipping a great Lion; Laval. This is when the other tribes finally learn that Laval was the one that dropped the CHI into the gorge when Cragger was still their enemy and they think it was his fault for the birth of the Crawlers, to which Laval is ashamed to admit.

Laval tries to change the subject by mentioning that they need to save the Lion Legend Beast but the other tribes are still processing this new information, Worriz asks if Laval really did drop the CHI into the Gorge of Eternal Depth to which Laval says he did, but he didn't think it would get this bad, Eris tries to defend Laval saying times were different then but is also shot down when Razar mentions that he may be a thief and a crook but even he says Laval can't be trusted. Laval then urges them that no one is safe unless they rescue the Lion Legend Beasts and he recognizes the huge mistake he made but he is trying to fix it, the other tribes are still discussing what to make of this when the Crawlers begin shooting and them and Laval runs towards the cave entrance where the Lion Legend Beast was said to be, he is about to make it when a blast lands a direct hit on Laval presumably killing him with Cragger shouting out seeing his best friend was just taken out.

  • The brief mention of only four Royal Valious existing in all of Chima is the plot point of the comic "Laval and the Four Valious Swords".
  • The title is a play on the phrase "truth or consequences".
  • This is the only episode where the Scorpions, Spiders, and Bats Chi-up. However, their Ultrabuild forms are never shown.
