History

History[]

The Numbness surfaced as a occasional condition for dragons that made contact with dangerous substances like poisonous leffberries or the spray of a saber-toothed eel, which would usually end fatally. According to stories, there were Dragon Elders curing the Numbness, converting the causal venom into an antidote.[1]

When Riyu fought a Mutation Monster in Umbrasilvis, he was blasted with its energy, causing him to get the Numbness.[2] This almost led to Riyu's death, which was cured just in time by Sora, who used a machine to reverse the Elemental Monster's energy into an antidote. While that remedy did heal the Mountain Dragon by helping his body's natural defenses, it also changed his appearance fundamentally.[1]

Trivia[]

  • It is similar to the Wasting Sickness, with both being exclusive to dragons and usually fatal.
    • However, unlike the Wasting Sickness, the Numbness does have a cure and that is by converting whatever caused the condition into an antidote.
