The Numbness is a highly lethal disease that affects dragons exposed to dangerous substances. It can be healed by converting the substance responsible for the disease into an antidote.

The Numbness surfaced as a occasional disease for dragons that made contact with dangerous substances like poisonous leffberies or the spray of a saber-toothed eel, which would usually end fatally. According to stories, there were Dragon Elders curing the Numbness, converting the causal venom into an antidote.^[1]

When Riyu fought a Mutation Monster in Umbrasilvis, he was blasted with its energy, causing him to get the Numbness.^[2] This almost led to Riyu's death, which was cured just in time by Sora, who used a machine to reverse the Elemental Monster's energy into an antidote. While that remedy did heal the Mountain Dragon by helping his body's natural defenses, it also changed his appearance fundamentally.^[1]
