Frak

Background[]

Frak was born soon after the Serpentine were trapped inside the Stone Warriors chamber to a Constrictai called Reginald Slitherbottom and a female Venomari. After the crisis with the Golden Master, Frak's family decided to return to the surface and live with humans, taking residence in the same neighborhood where Arin also lived. Frak developed a strong admiration for the Ninja, particularly Cole. One day, Frak met Arin after scaring off two bullies, who were teasing the latter about the ninja before they eventually became friends.^[1]

New Blood Ninja (flashback)[]

Prior to Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

At some point, Frak taught Arin how to bake pies. Unfortunately, Frak had to move away, causing him to lose contact with Arin.^[2] At some point, Frak was given a family pass into the Explorer's Club when his father, Reginald joined the club.^[3] After the Merge, he gained the Elemental Power of Quake, which he accidentally triggered and led to bursting a sewer pipe and creating chaos.^[1] Frightened and unsure of how to control his powers, Frak met Ras, who guided him in mastering his powers. With Ras' help, Frak gradually overcame his fears regarding his powers. During this time, Ras kept Jay and Frak separate, thinking that Frak would recognize Jay.^[4] Eventually, Ras invited Frak to join the Wolf Clan and participate in the Tournament of the Sources.^[5]

Enter the City of Temples[]

Hearing of a disturbance, Frak went to investigate and discovered the city's Security Bots were surrounding Arin and Riyu, surprising the former.

They Gather for the Feast[]

As Arin and Riyu faced the threat of arrest, Frak intervened by informing the Security Bots that they were his guests, which led to their release. Once the bots departed, Frak took the opportunity to share with Arin the events that unfolded after the Merge. Curiously, he asked about Arin's presence in Temple City. At that moment, the ninja arrived, accompanied by Roby and Bleckt, leaving Frak amazed to discover that Arin was friends with the ninja. His surprise grew when Arin mentioned that he had recently talked about Frak to Sora, which prompted Cole to praise Frak's pie recipes. Arin then invited Frak to join the ninja for some time together. Just as Frak was about to agree, his phone buzzed with a training alert from Ras, urging him to leave quickly, though he made sure to express his enthusiasm about meeting everyone.

Frak attended the welcome banquet for the Elemental Masters participating in the tournament. However, things took a turn when an argument erupted among the ninja, Ras, Roby, and Zeatrix upon Zeatrix's arrival.

Inside the Maze[]

Frak decided to take a break from his training with Ras to enjoy some pie. On his way, he ran into Arin and Riyu and invited them to join him for a treat. While they were getting their pie, Frak brought up Zant-Tanz, accusing him of being behind the assassination attempt. Arin, however, was skeptical and thought it was unlikely that Zant-Tanz was involved, but Frak was convinced that evidence suggest otherwise. Curious about Arin's experiences, Frak asked him what it was like to work with the ninja. Arin recounted how he first became a ninja while rescuing Riyu from the Claws of Imperium, emphasizing that it was tough work. Frak agreed, recalling how Ras had helped him master his Elemental Powers. Just then, they spotted Wyldfyre looking for Roby. As Wyldfyre left with Roby and Bleckt, Frak and Arin realized that Wyldfyre had feelings for Roby, prompting Frak to make a lighthearted joke about it. Frak then mentioned that he needed to head off to meet with the Wolf Clan but promised to check in on Arin later. He then met up with Nokt and Jordana, unaware that Sora was secretly watching them.

Truth and Lies[]

Frak was practicing with a wooden dummy when he met Arin, who cautioned him about Ras' ambitions, which included hunting dragons and taking over the Cloud Kingdom. Frak remained skeptical, as he had only experienced kindness from Ras. He disclosed that his rigorous training was aimed at mastering Shatterspin. However, Arin advised against this pursuit, cautioning that donning a Wolf Mask could lead to the user's moral corruption, asserting that Ras was solely driven by a thirst for power. Frak was conflicted, as he attributed his progress to Ras' guidance. He demonstrated Ras' teachings, prompting Arin to showcase his own unconventional Spinjitzu. As Frak shared Ras's insights, Arin successfully performed a genuine Spinjitzu tornado, leaving both Frak and Arin in awe. Just then, Frak received a message from Ras, indicating that it was now his turn to participate in the next match.

Upon arriving at the Games Plaza alongside Arin, Frak found himself matched against Cole, viewing this challenge as a prestigious opportunity. In order to secure victory in the match, Frak was required to ring the bell positioned at the top of the arena, a task that involved navigating and climbing the swinging metal walls. Fortunately for Frak, his Quake powers provided him with a significant advantage, as they caused the arena to shift, aiding his ascent. Ultimately, Frak triumphed over Cole and successfully rang the bell, thereby winning the contest. Following his win, Frak was awarded the Elemental Power of Earth by Roby through the Elemental Cup, a moment that filled him with delight as he eagerly began to try with his abilities.

The Sword Shatters[]

Frak faced Zur in the second round of a game called Grid Drop. Just before the match started, Frak approached Cole to ask for tips on how to control Earth, as he found it more challenging than using Quake. Cole advised him to reach out and push up when using Earth. During the match, Frak found himself in a tough spot against Zur, who was using Reflex and Ice powers. Zur managed to freeze Frak to the blocks, and the tiles he was standing on suddenly collapsed, putting him at risk of losing. Just in time, Frak was reminded of Cole's advice, allowing him to harness Earth effectively. Frak charged at Zur, using Earth to lift the ground and send Zur crashing into the stands, ultimately eliminating him from the tournament. Frak emerged victorious in the round, and Roby transferred Zur's powers to him. However, after gaining these powers, Frak faced criticism from Ras, who insisted that he should only recognize him as his master, a claim Frak accepted with some reluctance.

Clues and Suspects[]

Frak faced off against Sora in the semi-finals. The battle took place in a multi-platform fight, with Frak employing Ice as his primary element while Sora countered with Heat. Frak skillfully dodged Sora's fiery attacks and managed to damage Sora's hoverpad using Ice, ultimately knocking Sora off the platform with an Earth attack. During the fight, Sora questioned Frak's allegiance to Ras, prompting Frak to defend his mentor by stating that the ninja were misjudging Ras, who had taught him so much. As both combatants unleashed blasts of Ice and Heat, a thick smoke enveloped the arena, obscuring Frak's vision. Sora seized the opportunity to teleport in front of Frak and knocked him toward the edge of the platform. In a moment of desperation, Ras urged Frak to don the Wolf Mask to execute Shatterspin. However, recalling Arin's warning, Frak hesitated and ultimately chose to reject Ras' command, discarding the mask and opting for a fair fight.

The battle continued with hand-to-hand combat until Frak unleashed Ice and Quake, but Sora retaliated with a powerful Heat blast that sent Frak tumbling off the platform, resulting in his defeat. Following the match, Roby transferred Frak's powers to Sora using the Elemental Cup, and Frak congratulated Sora on her victory. Upon returning to the Wolf Clan, Frak was met with disappointment for his loss. Ras confronted Frak, scolding him for disobeying orders, and in a fit of rage, he lifted Frak by the throat and slammed him to the ground. As Frak lay there, he watched as Ras declared he never wanted to see him again, leaving Frak feeling disheartened as the Wolf Clan left.

The Final Game[]

Frak watched in surprise when Wyldfyre arrived with Zur to expose Bleckt after Nokt defeated Sora.

Elements of Betrayal[]

As the corrupted Wolf Clan launched their attack, Frak stood among the Elemental Masters, battling against Cinder and the Wolf Mask Warriors. While Nokt and Rox planned to free their comrades, Frak urged the ninja to pursue Nokt, assuring them that he and the others would hold back the Wolf Clan. Reflecting on his past of confronting bullies long before he became an Elemental Master, Frak emphasized that a person's worth goes beyond merely Elemental Powers. When Lloyd questioned Frak's confidence, he firmly replied, "ninja, go."

The fight intensified, and the wolf warriors initially gained the advantage, pushing Frak and the Elemental Masters to the brink of defeat. Just then, they saw their Elemental Powers returning, allowing them to rally and ultimately triumph over the Wolf Clan. Following their victory, Frak celebrated at the ceremony, cheering for Sora as Roby honored her with the title of Champion of the Sources. After the festivities, Frak used a portal gate to return to Ninjago with the ninja, and at the dragon stables, he met up Geo and Bonzle, affectionately petting Riyu before encountering Alfonzo Frohicky.

The Missing[]

Frak was deeply immersed in his training in the courtyard, channeling all his anger into each movement. Suddenly, Alfonzo Frohicky rushed over, distraught as he surveyed the destruction Frak had caused. Caught off guard, Frak apologized just as Lloyd approached him. Frak, feeling a bit uneasy, asked if he had done something wrong, to which Lloyd responded that the intensity of Frak's emotions was striking. He reminded Frak that such feelings were not the way of the ninja trained at the Monastery of Spinjitzu and questioned whether Ras had taught him to harness his anger in that manner. Frak insisted that he believed those emotions could be a source of strength, but Lloyd countered that there are many forms of strength, and relying solely on physical power is not the wisest choice. Determined yet still puzzled, Frak declared he would practice all night until he grasped the concept. Lloyd admired his enthusiasm, comparing it to Arin's spirited nature, but suggested that Frak take a break instead. As Frak contemplated the idea of resting, he noticed Sora and Riyu approaching. Sora awkwardly greeted him, acknowledging the tension that had built up between them. She explained her attempts to take over Arin's pie run, which had not gone well due to her lack of baking skills. Frak eagerly offered his assistance, boasting about his extensive collection of recipes. Without a moment's hesitation, he dashed off to gather all the necessary ingredients for their baking adventure.

After awhile, Frak and Sora were making pies. With a sense of pride, Frak pulled his pie from the oven, exclaiming that it was flawless, and eagerly turned to Sora to admire her creation. However, Sora's offering was less than perfect; she unveiled a charred pie. Sora lamented her lack of baking prowess. Frak attempted to comfort her, but when Sora's pie unexpectedly deflated, he remarked that such a phenomenon was against the laws of science. Realizing they needed a fresh start, Frak decided to bake another pie. Frak awkwardly shifted the topic to puppets. He recounted a video he had seen about a puppet wreaking havoc in the wastelands, and to his surprise, Sora was quick to learn that this was another rumor from Intelligent George. Sora cautioned Frak against trusting George's wild claims, especially since he had once asserted that gravity was merely a construct. This prompted Frak to challenge Sora, asking if she could prove gravity's existence. In response, Sora recalled Dorama's puppet, which led Frak to declare that he would steer clear of the Crossroads in the future. When Zane walked in, Sora casually remarked that he had a fondness for her pies. Intrigued, Frak turned to Zane and asked if that was true. Zane confirmed his liking but added that, as a Nindroid, he lacked taste buds to truly enjoy them. Annoyed, Sora directed their focus to the urgent matter of locating Arin. Zane expressed his frustration over the inability to track the gate system that could lead them to Arin, Ras, and the Forbidden Five. He also voiced his disappointment in not being able to find the ninja team's most brilliant and attractive member. Frak, assuming Zane was talking about Sora, was taken aback when Zane clarified he meant P.I.X.A.L., leaving Frak feeling a bit embarrassed. At that moment, the oven timer went off. However, the pie erupted, sending filling splattering everywhere. Zane's eyes widened in sudden realization, and he quickly dashed toward the elevator. Frak turned to Sora, suggesting that perhaps the pie mess had somehow disrupted Zane's circuits.

Frak and Sora approached Zane at the hangar bay, where the latter was focused on the screen displaying Sora's pie explosion. Zane insists that Sora's culinary disaster is brilliant, a sentiment echoed by Frak, who finds it comically genius. Zane clarified that the insight it provided into the mystery surrounding Arin's disappearance. He explained that while he had been analyzing the potential paths Arin might have taken through the portal gate, his initial calculations yielded no results. However, the unpredictable nature of Sora's pie explosion sparked a realization about the chaotic variables involved in space-folding gateways. As he input this new information into the system, the screen revealed a possible trajectory for Arin's location. With a renewed sense of purpose, Sora turned to Frak, stressing the urgency of finding Arin and suggesting that their pie-baking activities could wait. Frak quipped about whether Sora's pie-making could even be classified as baking.

Determining Arin's potential whereabouts, Frak accompanied Lloyd, Zane, Sora, Riyu, and Zanth to the Wastelands. After speaking with some of the local residents, Frak grew unnerved about their comments that the ninja would draw "its" wrath. After hearing Zanth's roaring, the group discovered her fighting Dorama's Puppet, much to Frak's terror as he proclaimed that Intelligent George was correct all along! As the fight progressed, the puppet took aim at Frak and began running towards him. In a panic, Frak managed to trip the marionette with his quake power before hiding behind a rock with Sora and Lloyd, remarking that since Intelligent George was right about the puppet's existence, then surely he must be right as well about gravity being made up! Elsewhere, Zane sliced off the puppet's right foot, causing it to falter and stumble. Turning towards it, Frak spotted a strange glow emitting from its head and decided to face his fear by jumping inside of it. There, he discovered the Blue Prismatic Blade lodged within the puppet's head.

After removing the blade, the puppet returned to its lifeless state and collapsed face-forward to the ground, taking Frak with it. After screaming along the way, Frak begged for help from the others, for he was stuck inside the puppet's head now. He was soon rescued and collapsed onto the ground, admitting that he had failed to overcome his fear of puppets and in fact, his fears were much worse now. Frak then gave the blade to Zane for analysis as Riyu spotted what appeared to be a set of tracks and began to follow them, with the others following Riyu's lead.

The Ultimate Object of Admiration[]

Following Riyu, the group eventually reached a Treacherous cave. Riyu lost Arin's scent at this spot, and the group now faced a fork in the road; one was the cave, and the other was a very rocky and difficult mountain pass. Frak muttered at first his confusion as to why Arin didn't leave behind a trail of pie crumbs, prompting Sora to remark that it was likely because Arin didn't want to be found. Frak then proposed for the group to search the cave, believing the alternative to have been too dangerous for Arin to traverse across. Since Zanth could not fit inside the cave, Zane rode with her to the other side while Frak and the other three ventured into the cave.

After entering the cave, Frak immediately ran on ahead, declaring he would lead the way. As they walked, Frak spoke about his fondness for caves and speleology, greatly irritating Sora in the process. As they came across a narrower passageway, Sora decided to go on first but became uncomfortable when she struggled to squeeze on through. Frak recommended breathing in and out, which Sora followed to calm her nerves and squeeze her way through. As they reached an even narrower gap, Sora sarcastically asked Frak what they should do now, to which he decided to use his quake powers to widen the gap. Unfortunately, Frak's reckless usage of his powers destabilized the cave and triggered a collapse. Running for their lives, the four managed to escape the tunnel, only to find themselves on a ledge with nowhere to go. At that moment, the ledge collapsed, sending all four plummeting into the river below.

When Frak awoke, he and the other ninja found themselves in the Storm Village, where they met Tyr, the leader of the resident Dragonians. After being treated for their injuries and served some food, the group began wandering about the village. They soon spotted a vendor selling carvings, which Lloyd identified as being of Oni origin. When Sora asked in confusion who the Oni were, Frak pulled her to the side and tried to explain the history of the War of Oni and Dragon though he failed to answer any of her questions. The group then learned from a pair of Old Lady Dragonians that Arin had passed through lately to the South Woods, but were warned he was likely dead for a cyclops roamed the area and a Dragonian Hunting Party had already gone missing there.

Arriving in the South Woods, the ninja discovered the hunting party trapped in a pit covered by a massive stone. As they began to work to push the stone, Frak encouraged everyone to push with their knees and not their backs, once again drawing Sora's ire. They were soon attacked by the Cyclops, Powerlid, or the Ultimate Object of Admiration. After being thrown around like ragdolls by the Cyclops, Frak halted the others from moving and explained that he heard Cyclopes were incapable of perceiving depth, and thus if they didn't move, Powerlid would not be able to differentiate them from their surroundings. Mildly amused and greatly angered by Frak's remarks, Powerlid played along for a moment before proclaiming that he could see the ninja and that Frak's words were a stupid and harmful stereotype! Sora then berated Frak for his misinformation.

Eventually, Sora managed to trick Powerlid into knocking himself out by lifting the stone covering the pit over his head. Frak at first tried to intervene, but Lloyd stopped him, having realized that Sora had a plan up her sleeve. Once Powerlid was knocked unconscious and the hunting party were saved, Frak pulled Sora to the side to apologize to her for his previous behavior, explaining that he had hoped to prove he was more than just Ras' stooge. Frak admitted also his belief that it was his fault for Arin going with Ras in the first place, believing that if he had talked to him during the Tournament of the Sources, then Arin wouldn't have gone with Ras. Sora accepted his apology but stated it was actually her fault for Arin's disappearance and explained why she was so determined to find him. Having reconciled, the two joined up with Lloyd and Riyu to continue their search.

The Spectral Lands[]

Frak, Sora, Lloyd, and Riyu set up camp for the night in the First Land.

The Great Zane Robbery[]

Frak and the others pressed onward through the First Land, where an argument unfolded between Frak and Sora regarding the merits of their respective gi colors. Frak, while acknowledging Sora's choice, asserted that his own gi was superior, a claim that prompted Sora to question the very nature of Frak's assertion, suggesting that such judgments were inherently subjective. Their argument was soon interrupted by Lloyd, who reminded them of the importance of concentrating on their mission rather than getting sidetracked by trivial disputes over appearances. Unfazed, Frak pressed Lloyd to weigh in on the matter, seeking validation for his belief in the superiority of his gi. Lloyd shifted the conversation, revealing that tracking Arin had become increasingly difficult. Frak was worried about Arin being in the company of Ras, fearing that he might be under Ras' influence. Recognizing the need for rest, Lloyd decided to set a campsite for the night.

Sora contemplated how Zane managed to cope with the absence of P.I.X.A.L., which made Frak skeptical. Frak questioned the emotional depth of Zane as a Nindroid. This was met with laughter from Lloyd, who defended Zane's complexity, asserting that he was far more than just a machine.

I Alone Can Save Them[]

The next morning, Frak and the others discovered an abandoned wooden sled. While Lloyd and Sora inspected it, Frak caught sight of the neighboring Spectral Lands and stood frozen in fear. When his allies asked him his opinion on the sled and if Ras had been using it, Frak, barely paying attention, gave a quick reply to them and pointed towards the Spectral Lands. Fortunately, it would seem they wouldn't have to go in, for there were two sets of footprints going further into the desert. Frak wanted to hurry on to find Arin, but Riyu instead began to lead the group in the opposite direction. While Sora and Lloyd were quick to accept Riyu's lead, Frak was more hesitant and expressed he felt this was wrong, only to fall upon deaf ears.

After walking for some time, Frak sarcastically commented that Riyu had led them to absolutely nothing and that they shouldn't have followed him. This comment greatly annoyed Sora who shot back that once Frak gets to know him better, he would trust Riyu's instincts. The sun was suddenly blotted out by storm clouds and the four bore witness to the arrival of Zarkt and a group of corrupted Dragonians, including Tyr. As they hid behind some vegetation, the group overheard Zarkt's complaints about their fruitless efforts in finding a blade made from a "shimmering metal," to which Frak unsheathed the Prismatic Blade he had been carrying and asked with a whimper if Zarkt was referring to it. Tyr then sensed the blade and immediately attacked the ninja's hiding spot, forcing them into battle with Zarkt and his forces.

In the ensuing battle, Frak at first tried to speak to the corrupted Dragonians but they seemed unable to respond to him in any way except for violence. He then used his quake power on two of them, only for them to no-sell his efforts by flying into the air. The two grabbed Frak and began lifting him into the air but he was saved when Riyu threw Tyr into the two and forced them to release Frak. As the fight continued, Frak shouted to Sora that he was right all along about not trusting Riyu's instincts while fending off Dragonians. When it seemed he and Sora were about to be overwhelmed, Zanth returned alongside P.I.X.A.L. and Zane, with Frak at first mistaking P.I.X.A.L. for Zane.

When Zarkt's forces were defeated and he was forced to retreat, Sora made a mockery out of the Master of Misfortune's threats, drawing a chuckle out of Frak in the process. When Zarkt flew off with a huff, Frak clarified with Sora that Zarkt was very clearly saying "blade," not "parade." Zane then informed Frak and the others that the Forbidden Five were searching for the Prismatic Blades for an unknown purpose.

Fallen Wishes[]

Frak stood with his allies as they inspected their prismatic blade. When Sora and Riyu suddenly vanished, he and the others who still remained reacted with shock. Later, the two returned and explained to the others of their encounter with Rox in Djinjago.

Their Draconic Majesty's Request[]

Frak and his group crossed over to the Monastery of Spinjitzu by using the portal gate in the First Land Monastery. Reuniting with Kai and Nya, the two groups pooled their information about the Forbidden Five and the prismatic blades. After the ninja failed to destroy the blade to prevent it from being obtained by the Five, Frak proposed using it instead to locate the fifth blade. He would later watch in amazement as Zane and P.I.X.A.L. constructed a tracker and affixed it to the guard of the blade in their possession, describing their movements as being akin to a graceful dance. He then asked Sora if she was watching, but she brushed him off, being busy constructing vehicles for the ninja to use. Frak would then accompany the other ninja to the World Forest where they discovered Arin and Ras.

Crashing Together[]

As Frak and the other ninja confronted Arin and Ras, Frak attempted to greet Arin, who was taken aback by Frak's presence among the ninja, while Ras glared at Frak with evident anger. To their astonishment, Frak and the ninja discovered that Arin regarded Ras as his new mentor. Frak accused Ras of manipulating Arin's mind, but Ras defended himself, claiming he was merely training Arin in the same way he had trained Frak. Frak retorted that was until he learned Ras' true nature. The group soon realized that both Ras and Arin possessed the final Prismatic Weapon. Sora tried to warn them that the Forbidden Five were after the Returning Blade to release Thunderfang, but Ras and a hesitant Arin chose to leave. Not wanting Arin to fall victim to the same fate as him, Frak charged at Ras, only for Arin to use Spinjitzu to push Frak aside. At that moment, a bounty hunter named Rogue arrived and abducted Ras. While Zane, Sora, and Riyu pursued Arin, who was intent on rescuing Ras, Frak and the others attempted to follow. However, a storm erupted, conjured by Drix and several Dragonian Warriors searching for the last two Prismatic Blades. Frak, along with Lloyd, Kai, Nya, and P.I.X.A.L., confronted Drix. After Drix knocked Kai out of the way, Frak stepped up to fight him, but Drix countered with Shatterspin, nearly sending Frak tumbling off the World Tree until P.I.X.A.L. intervened to save him. Drix then unleashed his Elemental Power of Swarm, revealing that he was composed of insects, a sight that Frak found far more terrifying than living puppets. Drix unleashed Swarm on Frak and P.I.X.A.L., causing them to crash. Drix snatched the blue Prismatic Blade from Lloyd and used Shatterspin against the ninja, forcing Frak and the others to cling to the branches for safety. Ultimately, Drix succeeded in claiming the final two Prismatic Blades necessary to free Thunderfang.

Chaos Unchained[]

Arin shared the heartbreaking news with Frak and the other ninja about the tragic death of his parents, a direct result of the chaos that erupted during the Merge. Frak felt deep sorrow for Arin, who cautioned that the awakening of Thunderfang would pose an even greater threat to many lives. Arin asked to work with the ninja, and they quickly rallied around him, eager to offer their support. Frak, in particular, yearned for the opportunity to fight alongside Arin again. However, Zane interrupted their moment, highlighting the formidable challenge they faced in trying to catch up to Drix, whose incredible speed made the task seem nearly impossible. When Frak questioned whether "impossible" truly meant it could not be achieved, Zane confirmed that it was indeed a significant obstacle. An argument between Kai and Nya gave Lloyd the idea that they could use the portal gate from their monastery to access the First Land, which can give them a head start.

Frak, Lloyd, and Kai mounted Riyu as they journeyed toward the hangar bay. Upon their arrival, the ninja lost their footing and tumbled to the ground, having slipped on the freshly waxed floors that Frohicky had just polished. Lloyd quickly gathered everyone, instructing them to reconvene at the dragon stables in a few minutes. Once the portal gate was activated, Frak and the ninja stepped through, heading to the First Land, while Frak, Lloyd, Kai, and Nya took to the skies on new gliders designed by Sora. They soon reached the location of Thunderfang's prison, where they could see the Winds of Chaos swirling around. As they waited for Drix to catch up, Frak turned to Arin, expressing his excitement about embarking on an adventure with the ninja, a dream they had cherished since childhood. However, Arin had a different perspective, insisting that his experiences were not as glamorous as Frak imagined. Frak suggested that Arin should blame him for instilling in him the belief that Ras' teachings were valuable. Arin argued that he had become a stronger ninja because of Ras' guidance. Frak countered, asserting that if Arin believed Ras could make him a better ninja than Lloyd, then he misunderstood what it meant to be a ninja.

As Drix arrived, he was confronted by the ninja. Amidst the fray, several Dragonian Warriors targeted Arin, but Frak rushed in and fended them off. In a brief moment of respite, he reminded Arin of the time he saved him against bullies. The battle intensified as the ninja and the Forbidden Five clashed over the blue Prismatic Blade. In a stroke of luck, Frak managed to seize the blade after Zane intervened to prevent a Dragonian Warrior from reclaiming it. However, three additional warriors charged in, overwhelming Frak and causing him to lose the Prismatic Weapon. Meanwhile, the Forbidden Five successfully acquired the last two blades and set off to liberate Thunderfang. Frak and the ninja quickly took up the chase, but their pursuit was abruptly halted as they were ensnared in the Winds of Chaos.

The Shatter Dragon[]

After their narrow escape from the Winds of Chaos, Frak and the others learned how the Forbidden Five had successfully absconded with the blades. It was Frak who first realized the implications of their actions: the Forbidden Five now had the means to release Thunderfang. In that moment, Thunderfang erupted from the earth, leading to a battle between the ninja and the Chaos Dragon. As Frak attempted to evade Thunderfang's stomps, he was struck by several boulders that fell in the chaos. Frak used his Quake powers, but they backfired, causing rocks to teeter dangerously close to him. In his frantic escape, he stumbled upon a group of Dragonian Warriors who launched an attack, leaving him battered. Just as Thunderfang's foot loomed over him, ready to crush him, Arin swooped in to save Frak at the last moment, in which Frak thanked Arin. Frak and Arin worked together to battle the Dragonian Warriors. During the skirmish, Arin was overwhelmed by them, but Frak used Quake to cause a cascade of rocks to crash down upon the Dragonian Warriors, effectively rescuing Arin and echoing his earlier sentiments about the desire to avoid harm during their first ninja adventure. However, the duo, along with their fellow ninja, witnessed Thunderfang draining Lloyd's soul to seize his Conduit powers.

Despite Frak's relentless efforts against the Dragonian Warriors, he soon found himself outmatched. Luckily, Arin hurled an elixir from the Well of the Lost at Thunderfang, resulting in the Chaos Dragon's demise. As Thunderfang fell, the souls he had consumed were released, allowing Lloyd's soul to return to his body. In a heartfelt reunion, Frak and the other ninja enveloped Lloyd in a warm embrace, with Frak joining in the hug, causing them all to tumble over. Ras arrived to remind Arin of the urgent mission to rescue his parents, so Arin left him. Despite Frak's attempts to dissuade him by insisting that Arin should reconsider, his words fell on deaf ears. To everyone's astonishment, Sora decided to accompany Arin and Ras on their quest. When Lloyd explained his support for Arin and Sora's choice to join Ras, Frak asked if he wasn't concerned for their safety, to which Lloyd admitted he was worry. Frak and the others soon discovered that Rogue was actually Jay, who had been taken to the monastery for treatment of his injuries. Upon their return, they learned that a celebration party had been organized in honor of the ninja. In the midst of these events, Frak and the group were shocked to find out that Arin's parents were alive.

Frak was having a hard time mastering his Elemental Powers. He seemingly felt a tremor and asked if anyone else had noticed it, but his companions denied it. Feeling disheartened, Frak questioned his self-worth without his powers. Sora tried to comfort him, reminding him that his value isn't solely based on his element. As Wyldfyre disagreed, Frak sided with her, urging Sora to join in their panic. Sora pointed out that she had solved problems before gaining her powers. Sora mentioned that without a working portal gate, they would need to walk to Ninjago, but they were uncertain of the direction, especially since it appeared to be dawn everywhere.

The ninja were surprised to learn that Reginald was Frak's father, and just as Frak was about to clarify, Reginald interrupted to introduce his club members. Among them, Johnny Courageous recalled a time when Reginald jokingly called a clumsy slug creature "Frak," prompting a sigh from Frak. When Reginald inquired about Frak's friends, Frak proudly introduced his father to his fellow ninja, but Reginald quickly belittled them by questioning if any "real" ninja were present, referring to the original team. Frak defended them and his skills, mentioning that Lloyd had praised him as an excellent student, but Reginald dismissed this, attributing Frak's success to having a "brilliant teacher for a dad." When Sora asked if the Explorer's Club could take them back to Ninjago, Reginald agreed but insisted they first capture a monster causing chaos in the village for a paid attraction as Wonder of the Merged Lands. Frak urgently informed Reginald about the issues with the Elemental Powers and the need to return to the Monastery of Spinjitzu. Reginald suggested that the original ninja were likely waiting for Frak to do menial tasks, reducing his role to that of a servant, and invited him to join the Explorer's Club, implying that even a "mediocre student" like Frak might learn something.

As Reginald prepared the Explorer's Club for their monster hunt, Frak proposed that they should travel in groups, pointing out that none of the explorers are familiar with the Umbrasilvis or the potential dangers of the monster. However, Reginald dismisses Frak's suggestion with laughter, making a show of apologizing to the other explorers for Frak's input. Reginald ridiculed the idea, calling it awful, and condescendingly praised Frak for trying to contribute, likening his effort to that of a "little mini grown-up." After this, Reginald quickly leaves, leaving Frak feeling belittled again. Meanwhile, Sora and Wyldfyre debate whether the explorers need help, prompting Frak to remind them that one of the explorers was his father. As they set off, Sora questioned Frak why he tolerated such behavior from Reginald. Frak's response is simple since Reginald was his father. Sora empathized, sharing her own experiences with her parents, claiming that familial ties do not justify enduring mistreatment. However, Frak disagreed, emphasizing the importance of family loyalty and expressing frustration to Sora that not everyone can easily sever ties with abusive relatives before storming away.

The ninja unexpectedly encountered a Mutation Monster, which attacked Gweeg. Frak attempted to harness his powers against the creature, resulting in a violent tremor that momentarily threw the monster off balance. The monster escaped. The ninja chased after the Mutation Monster while Reginald's peers failed to capture it. The Mutation Monster confronted Reginald, who used his launcher to momentarily restrain the beast, but it quickly broke free. Frak rushed forward to help, but the monster turned its attention to him. Frak tried to summon his powers again, but they failed him, and the creature seized him by the leg, flinging him against a nearby pole. Riyu, seeing Frak in trouble, charged at the monster to protect him, but the creature retaliated with energy blasts that left Riyu severely weakened. Sora used her abilities to trap the Mutation Monster within a containment unit. Poisoned by the monster, Riyu collapsed. Reginald criticized Frak, telling him that his interference ruined his chance of being the one to capture the monster. He concluded his admonishment by urging Frak to think more carefully in the future. Frak, filled with concern for Riyu, rushed to his side, joined by Sora and Wyldfyre.

Frak and the others reached the City of Imperium, where Frak admitted that he thought they wouldn't track down Johnny and the Inquisitor. However, as they arrived, they noticed hordes of Mutation Monsters scaling the walls. Frak couldn't help but admit to Sora that he wasn't particularly fond of the city. As they surveyed the chaos, they spotted the remaining ninja fighting the Elemental Monsters, and Frak was concern for Cole. Wyldfyre sprang into action, deftly bouncing across the heads of the Mutation Monsters, a sight that filled Frak with anxiety. Realizing he needed to follow suit to join the others, Frak attempted to mimic Wyldfyre's agility, but his execution was far from graceful. As he fell, he hoped no one had noticed his clumsiness. Unfortunately, at that very moment, Jay drove by, bursting into laughter at Frak's misstep, leaving Frak to pretend that his blunder was intentional.

Three Acid Monsters closed in on Cole, ready to unleash their corrosive attacks. Frak intervened, kicking one monster away. The other two, now targeting Frak, missed their mark and accidentally hit each other instead. Cole apologized to Frak for his earlier behavior during the spectral invasion. Frak quickly forgave him, mentioning the variety of Elemental Monsters present compared to Umbrasilvis, which left Cole puzzled about what Umbrasilvis was. As the fight continued, the covert Loyalists inside the city manage to breach the defensive walls, allowing their forces to flood in. Noticing the opening, Frak, Kai, and Wyldfyre rush after the invading horde, but they were confronted by a Fire Monster and an Acid Monster blocking their way.

Reginald is Frak's father, with whom he had a strained relationship with. At one point, Frak made a chest plate for him, which he instead used as a plate for his food. Reginald neglected Frak growing up to instead further his career in exploration, hoping that Frak could be proud of his father. However, despite his desire for having his son to admire and be proud of him, Reginald let his own vanity guide the way he rose Frak, causing him to be perfectly obedient and never to speak up, which allowed Reginald, even if without intended malice, to verbally abuse Frak and dismiss his thoughts and ideas on a regular basis. All the neglect, combined with the condescendance he endured from his father, caused Frak to develop a great deal of resentment towards him, which came to its highest point after Reginald made no effort to help him and Sora when they were made suspects of being connected with the monster that attacked Umbrasilvis to the point of suspecting he was the one that released the monster and was using it to search for something.

Later, it is revealed Frak was wrong about suspecting his father, but even with Reginald saving him, both from the true culprit and from half of the Weapon of Desolation that was overcharging Frak's Quake, and confessing the motivation behind his actions, Frak simply couldn't overcome the resentment he felt for him to forgive him and left him in order to return to Ninjago with the others as soon as possible.

When the Loyalists rebuilt Cryptor, who sabotaged Frak's bike and stole a map from the Explorer's Club, Frak and his father teamed up to investigate his return. During the time they spent together, Reginald demonstrated that he had changed since his last encounter with his son—particularly in how he treated others, and his son specifically. He had stopped being condescending and belittling, and was showing that he understood the mistakes he had made in the past with his son. Reginald decided to use the chest plate his son had made for him as a child to protect himself when they faced Cryptor and the Loyalists, which ultimately saved him from a shot fired by the Nindroid General. Believing his father was dead from the shot, Frak was distraught, and he let tears flow until Reginald revealed that he had survived thanks to the chest plate. The two of them then resumed a good relationship.

Before the Tournament of the Sources, Ras recruited Frak and taught him how to fight properly. Despite being strict with Frak, the latter considered him to be a good teacher. However, their relationship was filled with bumps, especially due to Frak's admiration towards the Ninja (Ras' enemies). When Frak approached Cole to seek for advice over how to use his element, Ras got upset. During his fight against Sora, Ras ordered Frak to wear his Wolf Mask, but the latter refused to wear it, after hearing from Arin that the masks shatter the goodness in the wearer, and lost his match. This made Ras very angry, and he banished Frak from the Wolf Clan and told him never to appear in his sight again.

After leaving Ras' team and joining the Ninja, Frak came to realize how toxic Ras really was. On one hand, he came to realize Ras was wrong about physical strength being the only source of power, as Lloyd came to teach him there were other ways to channel strength. Not just that, but he came to see Ras as nothing more but a manipulator that tricks others to follow him and, when he sees how his influence is affecting Arin, Frak's resentment towards him increased even more.

Lloyd[]

After Ras expelled him from his team and the end of the Tournament of the Sources, Frak joined the Ninja as a new ninja student. When Frak found it difficult to let go of the residues left by Ras' teachings, Lloyd gave him the advice of existing many sources of stength besides the physical one, an advice that Frak took to the heart and even came to apply later on.

Cole[]

Ever since Frak was little and would heard about the Ninja, he always admired Cole, finding him to be his favorite ninja. He would always try to mimic his moves. When years later after the merge he came to face him in the Tournament of the Sources, Frak couldn't help but feel excited in facing his idol. Despite defeating him, Frak's admiration towards Cole never faulted and even sought his advice over how to properly use the Earth element, even if that caused some trouble with Ras.

With Lloyd gone to search for Arin's parents, Frak was trained by Cole and Kai to perform Spinjitzu. When a crash with Riyu causes damages to the training course, Frak went with Cole and Kai to the Land of Lost Things so they could have a place that wouldn't mind some destructive training.

When Cole was training him to apply his elemental power, Frak managed to sense the earth screaming, the same way Cole had been feeling. The two and Kai go to the place Cole went through after parting ways with Nya and Sora. Upon reaching it, Frak and Cole combined their powers to unearth what was lying beneath. Together, with Kai's help, they were able to unearth the remains of the Source Dragon of Balance.

During their fight in Imperium against the Dragonian Warriors, Cole's soul is taken, much to Frak's worry. Despite fending off the spectral Dragonians and Nokt's invasion. Frak does not celebrate due to Cole's fate, and he and Kai brought him back to the Monastery.

Frak and Cole would later be separated from each other after Ras captured Wu and shut down the portal gates, Frak was sent to the Land of Eternal Dawn while Cole was still in Ninjago. However, the two would eventually reunite in Imperium once again and after seeing Frak there, Cole then apologized for how he acted before when Nokt and the Spectral Dragonians attacked to which Frak accepts Cole's apology for being bitter and hot-headed.

Arin[]

Arin is Frak's childhood best friend. They first met when Frak saved him from two bullies, who were insulting the ninja, and scared them off before they bonded over their fandom for the ninja, as well as Frak showing Arin how to cook pies, until the former and his family moved away. They reunited years later at the City of Temples, where Frak stopped the guards arresting him on behalf of his master and showed off that he discovered he had the Elemental Power of Quake. However, their newly reformed friendship was put to question when Sora discovered Ras is Frak's master before Arin eventually confronted him about, which the former confirmed. Arin then warned Frak not to wear his Wolf Clan mask, which the latter took during his battle with Sora, and in exchange he helped Arin improve his Spinjitzu.

When Arin defected the team, Frak shows regret for causing Arin to channel his anger and stray from the team so the former can find his missing parents. He even shows no hostility when he reunited with Arin only to be cruelly rejected by Arin with his newfound anger. During the battle, Frak take it upon himself to tell Arin to blame him (Frak) for causing him to believe that the ninjas' teachings are not as good as he felt. He even tells Arin that if he is stronger than before without them, maybe he doesn't know what being a ninja means. Afterwards, when Thunderfang was defeated, Frak is saddened when Arin chose to leave again after learning how he wants to bring his parents back from the dead. Frak's spirits are lifted when he learns that Arin's parents are alive through Jay that he wishes Lloyd, Jay, Nya, and Wyldfyre luck when they went to find them. Hoping that his best friend will return once his parents are back with him.

Sora (crush)[]

Frak's initial interactions with Sora were very distant, as they were from different teams and she distrusted him due to being one of Ras' students. When they fought during their match, Frak thought in using the wolf mask, just like Ras told him to do, but, remembering Arin's warning and wanting to have a fair fight against Sora, he refused to wear it. Despite he lost to Sora and she took his element and the ones he had gained, Frak never hold it against her, finding their battle as being a good one.

After he was expelled from Ras' team and Arin abandoned the Ninja to save the former, Frak joined the Ninja, becoming Sora's fellow student. Their initial interactions were distant, but eventually Sora approached him to ask him to help her bake pies the same way he did with Arin. This caused Frak to get very excited, as he would be able to keep on passing the knowledge of baking pies. While teaching Sora how to bake, Frak is showed as being a patient teacher, although he is not above in teasing her about her inaptitude.

It is showed during their search for Arin that, despite everything, Frak and Sora still had some issues, with the former being too eager to prove himself that he ended up putting the team in trouble, while the latter still didn't fully trust him because of his past as Ras' student. Eventually, the two of them were able to work out those issues.

It seems that Frak has a crush on Sora, seen when Zane expressed how he missed P.I.X.A.L., describing her as the smartest and most attractive member of the team, which caused Frak to think he was talking about Sora. More of that crush is showed when Frak is reunited with Sora, as he expressed how he was so worried about her that he couldn't even sleep, with him then awkwardly adding that the others also may have not been able to sleep as well. During their journey to Djinjago, when Sora tried to rehearse the notes they would need to play to awaken one of the halves of the Arc Dragon of Focus, Frak tried to harmonize with her, with the first attempt failing before he managed to do it properly. During their fight against Kur and the spectral Dragonian Warriors at the Cave of Bells, fearing he would not have another chance, Frak tried to express his feelings towards Sora, however, at the last moment, he chickened out and came out with an feeble excuse, saying that he ate all the yogurts in the monastary.

During their adventures in Umbrasilvis, the two of them started to bond over the fact both have terrible relationships with their respective parents. After witnessing how Frak's dad verbally abuses him and is very condescending, Sora tried to convince Frak to stand up against him. Later, after seeing how Frak suspected of Reginald of freeing the monster they had captured, Sora did her best to tell Frak to not assume the worst. When Frak and Reginald go their separate ways on bad terms, Sora is showed feeling bad for him, as he witnesses Arin's good relationship with his parents, and Sora comes to comfort him.

Riyu[]

Riyu is Frak's friend and teammate. When the two first met in the Tournament of the Sources, as Arin introduced Frak as his childhood friend, Riyu was suspicious of him after sniffing him, probably smelling the scent of Ras, his master at the time. When Frak joined the ninja team, they became good friends. After the Tournament, Frak even gently petted Riyu. During the ninja's research for Arin in the First Land, Frak showed a lack of trust in Riyu regarding the path he proposed to follow, that turned out to lead them to the Dragonian Trackers, which reinforced Frak's belief that they should not have followed his trail.
