Elemental Monsters (also known as Energy Monsters) are creatures made from corrupted and unstable Elemental Energy. They are extremely violent and destructive beings whose existence is directly connected to the Weapon of Desolation, an artifact capable of both creating and controlling them. Each monster became a living embodiment of a specific element.

Elemental Monsters originated millennia ago, when Source Energy kept the beasts contained since before time had a name,^[2] but the awakening of the Arc Dragon of Focus during the Battle of the Spectral Lands severely disrupted the balance of Source Energy, causing instability across the Sources. The Weapon of Desolation took advantage of this imbalance and reacted to the corrupted energy by creating Elemental Monsters.

With the help of her Loyalists, Beatrix planned to take the Weapon of Desolation so she could control the Elemental Monsters and use them as an army to reclaim the Kingdom of Imperium. During the Loyalist assault, Lloyd managed to take the weapon from her, allowing Arin to use it to seal the monsters away once again.

Background[]

The Elemental Monsters existed long before time had a name, when there were no Elemental Masters.^[2] They were born from the disruption of Source Energy linked to the Weapon of Desolation, and were driven solely by a desire for destruction. However, the First Spinjitzu Master neutralized the weapon with an incantation on the Tablet of Desolation, leading to the eventual defeat of the Elemental Monsters.

Dragons Rising, Season 4[]

Following the Battle of the Spectral Lands, the Source Dragons of Life, Strength, and Focus withdrew from the Council of Sources, causing the two fragments of the Weapon of Desolation to create Elemental Monsters across the Merged Lands, where they unleashed widespread devastation.^[3]^[4]^[5] Understanding the connection between the monsters and the Weapon of Desolation, Dr. LaRow commanded the Loyalists to locate the fragments so they could control the monsters, bolstering their efforts to assist Beatrix in her quest to reclaim the throne of Imperium.^[6]

As the Elemental Monsters began to spread throughout the Merged Lands, including Umbrasilvis, the City of Imperium, and the Crossroads, a handful ventured into the Whispering Wood. There, they encountered the ninja and Euphrasia, who struggled to use their Elemental Powers against the creatures. However, using Life energy from the Trees of Life, Lloyd, Zane, Euphrasia, and Arin successfully managed to stop the monsters' rampage.^[4] However, during Lloyd's Ritual of Unrooting, the Elemental Monsters attacked the Arc Dragon of Life and the Acona.^[7] Ultimately, after completing the trial and unlocking the Draconus Form, Lloyd defeated the Elemental Monsters in the Whispering Wood.^[8]

The Loyalists retrieved the two pieces and successfully combined them back into the Weapon of Desolation. Beatrix harnessed the weapon to command the Elemental Monsters, using them as her army as they advanced toward her former Kingdom of Imperium alongside the Loyalists.^[8] Under her control, the Elemental Monsters launched an attack on the city, overpowering its citizens and clashing with the ninja. However, Lloyd arrived to assist the heroes and stabilize their powers, allowing them to fight back against the Elemental Monsters. As Beatrix wielded the Weapon of Desolation to enhance her monsters, it began to control her. Through their connection to Lloyd, Nya, Kai, Jay, and Zane also went into Draconus Form to confront the Elemental Monsters. Lloyd managed to knock the weapon from Beatrix's hands, causing the Elemental Monsters to turn on her. Ultimately, Arin took the Weapon of Desolation and deactivated it, causing the Elemental Monsters to vanish as they were drawn back into the weapon.^[9]

Elemental Embodiment - Elemental Monsters are made of corrupted Elemental Energy, and as such, are living manifestations of Elemental Powers.
Elementokinesis - Elemental Monsters can manipulate corrupted versions of elements.
- Elementogenesis - Elemental Monsters can generate corrupted forms of elements.
- Elementokinetic Attacks - Elemental Monsters can attack with corrupted elements.
  - Elementokinetic Breath - Some Elemental Monsters like Acid, Fire, and Ice Monsters can shoot corrupted elements from their mouths.
  - Elementokinetic Ball Projection - Some Elemental Monsters like Acid and Fire Monsters can shoot balls of corrupted elements.
  - Elementokinetic Blasts - Some Elemental Monsters like Earth and Mutation Monsters can shoot blasts of corrupted elements.
  - Elementokinetic Beam Emission - Some Elemental Monsters like Acid and Earth Monsters can shoot beams of corrupted elements.
Absolute Immortality - Being created from the imbalance of Source Energy used by the Weapon of Desolation, Elemental Monsters cannot truly be killed as long as the weapon remains active.
- Regeneration - When their physical bodies are destroyed, Elemental Monsters can regenerate by scattering into bolts of unbalanced Source Energy.
Superhuman Strength - Elemental Monsters are incredibly strong, able to pick up and throw around humans and heavy objects.
Superhuman Durability - The bodies of Elemental Monsters are incredibly durable, able to survive physical attacks without any damage.
Concept Empowerment - If exposed to the unstable Source Energy in the Weapon of Desolation, Elemental Monsters will enter an empowered state.
- Combat Augmentation - In their empowered state, Elemental Monsters are granted increased combat capabilities.
  - Strength Augmentation - Empowerment by the Weapon of Desolation makes Elemental Monsters significantly stronger.
  - Defense Augmentation - Empowerment by the Weapon of Desolation makes Elemental Monsters significantly more durable.
- Size Augmentation - Some Elemental Monsters like Earth and Mutation Monsters get bigger if empowered by the Weapon of Desolation.
  - Limited Shapeshifting - Earth and Mutation Monsters become more monstrous in their bigger forms.
Spherical Form - Some Elemental Monsters like Fire and Ice Monsters can take on a ball-like form.
Conceptuportation - Elemental Monsters can teleport by scattering into beams or bolts of Source energy and reforming in different locations.
Vengestone Immunity - The Elemental Powers of the Elemental Monsters are unaffected by Vengestone.^[10]
Chronosteel Immunity - The Elemental Powers of the Elemental Monsters are unable to be absorbed by Chronosteel.^[10]

Lightning is the only one of the original ninja's elements to not receive a corresponding Elemental Monster.
- According to DuckBricks, there was one shown in the concept art of the Season 4 Part 2 sets, but it was scrapped.^[11]
Elemental Monsters are similar to Elemental creations and Elemental Dragons, since all are entities manifested from an elemental power.
