Market Day

Market Day is the fifth episode of the first season of Legends of Chima.

Plot

Plot[]

Cragger is in the Crocodile Swamp riding his Speedor when he is knocked off and asks Crooler what happened as he doesn't remember anything when she uses the Persuader Plant on him and tells him he won't be racing in the monthly CHI competition, but Cragger denies skipping out and tells Crooler he can beat everyone racer in Chima, Crooler tells Crawley that they will pay the Ravens a sack of coins in return they help the Crocodiles in their operation. At the Lion Temple the Market is set up where each tribe is selling different things when the Ravens swoop in and sneakily steal items from each stand and tries to sell them as their own findings, after failing to get the Ravens to give back the stuff they stole, Laval finds that his Speedor is missing and he knows he can't compete in the next race without it. Just then, Lagravis announces that the race is ready to start and the racers will be racing in the Terrible Trail of Torture in order to win the Golden CHI, but first the racers go on a practice run before the race begins while Laval is still looking for his Speedor, he mentions how its wheel is made from a Tribe Stone which is from Mount Cavora itself and was passed down in his family for generations, Eris understands and goes to the Raven Stand with Laval where it's revealed that it was the Ravens that took Laval's Speedor and he demands they give it back before the race starts.

Back at the Grand Arena, Lagravis asks if Longtooth or Leonidas have seen Laval as it's not like him to miss a practice race, when they don't respond, Lagravis sends them to go find Laval who is still at the Raven Stand trying to get his Speedor back but is stopped by Eris suggesting that she has an idea to distract the Ravens, she gives them a Box of Nothing, an item the Ravens don't have yet, they accept the offer and give Laval back his Speedor and then they both head to the Grand Arena to take part in the Terrible Trail of Torture but he stops the race when he notices the Golden CHI had been replaced with a rock painted to look like the Golden CHI, after figuring out the Ravens stole the real Golden CHI he tracked them down and demanded that the Ravens; give him the Golden CHI back, repaint his Speedor and demands them to know who hired them. His demand is answered when the Crocodiles show up, and Laval and Cragger have a little back and forth before Laval heads back to the Grand Arena with the Golden CHI and has it returned to its rightful place.

With the Golden CHI returned, the race can finally begin, Lagravis and Equila announce the game for the day and the racers are finally off. During the race, Laval is knocked off his Speedor when Skinnet sets off a skunk spray thus changing the terrain slightly, this allows Worriz to pass Laval and he is about to get back on his Speedor when Cragger arrives to participate in the race so he can win the Golden CHI. Worriz is stopped by a wall of rocks when the Golden CHI transforms the terrain, presenting two new routes with two CHI orbs in each one, Laval and Cragger manage to get their CHI orbs and smash through the rock wall, then Worriz catches up to them and knocks Laval down telling Cragger that Crooler paid him to take out Laval during the race, Cragger thinking Worriz did that to let him win is knocked off as well with Worriz telling him that the deal was to eliminate the Lion but that didn't mean to spare Cragger. Worriz manages to make it to the finish line and finishes the race, Crooler comes to pick up Cragger who is still upset about him getting knocked off as they had back to the Crocodile Swamp, Worriz is then rewarded with the Golden CHI for his tribe. Back at the Crocodile Swamp, Craggar asks Crooler why she didn't listen to him and tells him that being a great leader is not without its setbacks, but Cragger then complains that she always goes on about being a great leader and despite him being the supposed "leader" he is the one who always gets hurt, he is then presented with the Box of Nothing from the Ravens and again complains when Crooler talks of a plan to attack the Eagle Spire and uses the Persuader Plant to get Cragger to agree, which he does and they set off on their way to the Eagle Spire.

  • This is Ripnik's first episode. However, his name would not be revealed until the next episode, where he played a more important role.

Errors[]

  • After the end of the Speedorz race, a random wolf soldier is shown waving to the crowd instead of Worriz (who won the race).
  • During a panning shot of all the Speedorz in the race, A wolf soldier is shown instead of Worriz.
  • Crooler says she got the box from the ravens, but the raven's gave it to the rhinos earlier on in the episode.
