Laval, Eris, Worriz, Razar, and Bladvic rode their Speedorz through the Predator Plant fields as they traveled through the Outlands with Cragger, Gorzan, and Rogon. Afterward, the heroes encountered the Bat Tribe and eventually fled into a cave system that resembled a Speedor racing track. This allowed the heroes to use their racing abilities to maneuver through the caves and lose their pursuers.

In the following days, the heroes investigated Lavertus' home and discovered ShadoWind's clothing, helmet, and Speedor, realizing that Lavertus was ShadoWind. Learning this, Laval challenged Lavertus to a Speedor race and proposed a wager: if the heroes won, Lavertus would have to help them rescue the Legend Beasts. Lavertus agreed, confident since no one could defeat him. The race began with Lavertus immediately pulling ahead. However, Laval had the entire team cooperate by making substitutions throughout the course. Laval rode first before handing control to Eris, who continued through the course with Razar's assistance. Gorzan took over next and used his strength to power through one of the obstacles. Bladvic subsequently drove through a cave while barely awake, while Cragger used his ability to swim to continue the race through water. When a huge spinning rock blocked the route, Rogon used his strength to move it out of the way. Laval eventually retook his Speedor and crossed the finish line, defeating Lavertus.

Afterward, Laval, Razar, and Lavertus used their Speedorz to make their way to the Scorpion Cave to rescue the Raven Legend Beast. During the mission, Razar left his Speedor behind. Scorm discovered it and recognized that its wheel was made of Tribe Stone. The Crawlers subsequently began constructing their own Speedorz after chipping some Tribe Stone from Mount Cavora. After rescuing the Eagle Legend Beast's eggs and freeing the Bear Legend Beast from the Crawlers' trap, the Crawlers confronted Laval in their newly constructed Speedorz. Laval dismissed them as copycats, and the confrontation immediately turned into a high-speed chase. Laval used his superior racing ability to escape the pursuing Crawlers. The Crawlers later employed their Speedorz during Scorm's defense of the Scorpion Cave, confronting Laval and the other heroes who were on a mission to save Cragger, Worriz, Crominus, and the remaining Legend Beasts. As they sped through the tunnels with Chi in tow, they powered up for battle. While the Speedor riders pursued the heroes through the cave, Laval launched Chi Bangers that took out many of them and caused debris to fall, effectively blocking the rest of the Crawlers. Despite this, Scorm managed to keep up the chase.

On top of the Spiral Mountain in Chima, the heroes of Chima are sitting and watching the sunset and their Speedorz are sitting behind them when Lloyd and Morro crash land behind them while fighting for the Realm Crystal and Laval asks where they came from before the two of them left back to Ninjago.

• The wheels of the Speedorz are made from Tribe Stone, which come from Mount Cavora.
• Ras' Tiger Speedor is the first time across both Ninjago and Legends of Chima that there has been a Tiger Speedor as none appeared before in the sets or the show.
• In the sets, all the Speedorz have inaccurate casing designs.
• Upon being empowered with Fire Chi, the wheel and eyes glows orange and, should the user desire it, armaments suited for each Tribe can emerge.
