Overview
- For the current Elemental Master of Fire, see Kai.
An unnamed man was a former Elemental Master of Fire. At some point in his life, he created Rusty. After venturing into the Cave of Change in the Land of Monsters, he encountered the centipede monster, resulting in a grotesque transformation that fused him with the creature.
History
History[]
Background[]
At one point in time, this man wielded the Elemental Power of Fire and created Rusty to serve as both as a companion and vehicular transport. According to Rusty, the Fire Master was a great teacher whose great strength was only matched by his great heart.
The Fire Master and Rusty travelled to the Land of Monsters to help the people there. During one of their travels, Rusty asked him why he called him that way, which prompted him to ask it if it would prefer being called by its serial number. The two then assisted a village that was being attacked by spider monsters. During their battle, the Fire Master saved the villagers that were being cocooned. After they assumed the threat was gone, the villagers thanked him, and informed him that their reconnaissance party had disturbed the monsters living in the nearby cave. The Fire Master was then attacked by the final spider, who sneaked up on him, but he was saved by Rusty. The two concluded that they had to go the spiders' cave to end the threat once and for all.[2]
One day, the Fire Master noticed that people who entered the Cave of Change never returned, and so he sought out to investigate alongside Rusty, hoping to save those who had entered. Unfortunately, he and Rusty would be attacked by a centipede-like monster, and in the ensuing battle, the Fire Master was cocooned and eaten, and over time became part of the centipede monster himself, becoming a soulless vessel,[3] he now preying on those he once protected.
Fallen Master[]
After the Merge, the centipede monster faced off against Kai, a successor of the Fire Master, in the Cave of Change. The battle ended with the centipede monster victorious, capturing Kai in a cocoon to begin his transformation. However, Kai managed to break free and sought Rusty's assistance to defeat the centipede. Upon learning about the Fire Master's fate, Kai offered to spare Rusty the pain of failing his former master, though the sentient mech refused and slew the monster, thus putting the Fire Master out of his misery.
Following his death, the Fire Master's torn roningasa, robes, and necklace were collected by Kai and Rusty and placed atop a funerary pyre outside the Cave of Change where they were subsequently burned in his memory.
Other appearances
Other appearances[]
False Light[]
A Gimon-Ogu conjured an illusion of the Fire Master in an effort to persuade Rusty into stepping foot into the deep waters of the lake. Speaking through this illusion, the sea monster offered Rusty the "opportunity" to find his purpose again alongside his master. When Rusty refused to give into the illusion, the sea monster dropped its act and the false Fire Master's voice became harsher, urging Rusty to surrender and to embrace a swift demise.
