Powerlid (nicknamed Pow-Pow by Gandalaria, also known to himself as the Ultimate Object of Admiration) is a cyclops from Mysterium who temporarily lived in the South Woods of the First Land.

Background[]

Long ago, Powerlid and Gandalaria were the best of friends, sharing countless adventures together. One day, Powerlid decided to organize a gem hunt for both of them without consulting Gandalaria, who was preoccupied with vocal practice. This led to Powerlid to be filled with greed as he only cared about gems, overshadowing their friendship. This shift in priorities created a divide between their goals, ultimately leading them to drift apart.

After the Merge, Powerlid roamed the Merged Realms before settling in the South Woods, in the First Land. At one point, his presence became known to the nearby Dragonians who, wary of his being, sent out a hunting party to scout and determine what threat, if any, Powerlid could pose to them. After encountering the hunting party however, Powerlid captured and imprisoned them within a pit near his campsite, covering it with a massive stone. When the hunting party later failed to return to their village, the Dragonians developed tales in fear of Powerlid the Cyclops.

The Ultimate Object of Admiration[]

Powerlid encountered Lloyd, Sora, Frak, and Riyu in his campsite, discovering that the intruders were attempting to rescue the hunting party he had imprisoned. After roaring to grab their attention, Powerlid introduced himself as the "Ultimate Object of Admiration" while beating his chest. After a few seconds, the Cyclops began grabbing nearby rocks to hurl at the intruders, though they managed to avoid his attacks.

After shrugging off multiple strikes from his opponents, Powerlid declared that no matter how hard or how many times they would strike him, he could not feel any of it! He would then briefly admit that he also could not feel love either, but quickly rebounded and declared that he was not yet ready to expose his emotions before resuming his attack. When the Ninja suddenly stopped moving, Powerlid overheard Frak suggest that Cyclopes were unable to perceive depth and that Powerlid couldn't see them if they stayed still. Irritated by this remark, Powerlid stood in front of his foes and sarcastically asked where they had gone. After waiting a few seconds to allow his foes to lower their guards, Powerlid immediately stomped the ground in front of them and revealed that he had been able to see them perfectly fine this entire time and that he had been insulted by Frak's comments, noting that they were a "stupid and harmful stereotype."

Although Powerlid was able to continuously overwhelm the Ninja in every physical confrontation, he would finally meet his defeat after being tricked by Sora to lift the massive stone covering the pit over his head. Although he would be able to perform this feat, Powerlid almost immediately dropped it seconds afterwards, crushing the stone over his head and knocking himself out cold.

For Whom the Bell Tolls[]

Powerlid later returned to Mysterium and raided the Cave of Bells in search of treasures. As he was about to leave, he encountered Nya and Gandalaria's coconut copy. Recognizing Nya as a ninja, Powerlid felt irritated at the sight of another ninja attempting to steal from him and prepared to fight her.

When Doves Cry[]

Powerlid threw a boulder at Nya, declaring her to be a gem-stealing ninjerk, but Nya managed to stop him from throwing another boulder, saying that she didn't want his gems and she needed to get into the cave behind to ring the bells, or else the world would be destroyed. Realizing that he needed the world to keep his gems, Powerlid put down the boulder and freaked out, thinking someone heard him. As Nya gets in, Powerlid said that it will cost her 4 gems, much to her anger. Nya demanded Powerlid to let her pass, which Powerlid then charged her 8 gems, due to practicing surge pricing at times of peak demand. When Nya revealed that she didn’t have any gems, Powerlid got angry and threw another rock at her, but Kai arrived and destroyed the rock with his Fire. Hearing Nya's coconut talk, Powerlid recognized her as his old friend Gandalaria. At first, Gandalaria tried to trick him into thinking she was a normal non-magical coconut, but Powerlid told her to stop lying. Despite it being a while, he recognized the voice of his former BFF. He said it was good to see her again, but opted to get revenge on her.

While chasing Kai, Nya, and Gandalaria’s coconut copy, Powerlid revealed that she hurt his feelings, and exclaimed that he'll hurt everyone's everything. Kai got Powerlid's attention, telling him how he used to be like him. Powerlid was confused, due to Kai having a second eye, but Kai told him how it was easier for him to confront his enemies than his own feelings. Kai explained that lashing out dulls, emotions but not for long, and those bad feelings come back worse than ever. Powerlid asked for a solution like bashing rocks, but Kai said no, and said it is communication. Taking a deep breath, Powerlid told Gandalaria how she was his best friend, then one day she was supposed to come on a gem hunt and never showed up. He tried to find her, but she was gone and abandoned him, telling her she wasn't a good friend. Gandalaria tells Powerlid she was in an a cappella vocal practice but he scheduled a gem hunt without asking and everything became about gems, which crowded everything else in his brain, and he changed as a result. Powerlid said she changed too, as she is a coconut now, but Gandalaria told him that it wasn’t her, and it was just her backup personality. She admitted Powerlid was right, and that she should’ve talked to him instead of disappearing. Powerlid accepted her apology, with Nya cutting their reunion short, stating that she and Kai needed to ring the bells. Powerlid allowed them to go in, but with a cost of 6 gems, with a friends' discount, much to Nya's confusion since she apologized and made up. Powerlid said that it is an unrelated issue, to which Kai said that he can't focus on them since he needs to gather up his gems, much to Powerlid's confusion, as his gems were in a crate. Kai shot a fireball at the crate, which scattered the gems, allowing them to get into the Cave of Bells as Powerlid gathered his gems.
