Background[]

During the first Hunter War,[1][2] the Tunnel Cats fought against the Hunters under the surface, chasing them down through the caverns, with Tormak leading them.[3] Desperate for victory and blinded by rage, Fangar sent a group of his army to attack the Tiger Village while it was unprotected. However, the Tigers that survived fled to the then still grounded Mount Cavora, where their responsibility was recognized by the Phoenix, who gave Tormak and the rest of the Tunnel Cats Fire Chi to help them fight the Hunters more effectively.[1] Eventually, the Tunnel Cats won against the Hunters, with the victory costing their lives, leaving Tormak as the only one standing.[3]

After the first Hunter War, Tormak continued to perform his duty, much to his loneliness.[2] But one day, he heard a little Lion cub, who was about to fall from a ledge. Seeing this, Tormak caught her and planned to take her to the other Lions. However, Tormak felt the loneliness that he endured during the long war and decided to adopt the little Lion cub, naming her Li'Ella.[2] Tormak raised Li'Ella in the Phoenix Temple as well as continuing his duties.[4] During this, Tormak started to do an event called Claw Week, where every year, he brings the young, aspiring Tigers who want to join the Royal Guards on a little tour of Chima and journeys through all the landscapes of Chima with them. If they can keep up with Tormak, not seen by anyone other than the aspirants and don't fail any tests Tormak gave them, Tormak lets them to move on to the actual Royal Guard training.[1]
