The Hunter Wars were a conflict in Chima between the Hunters and Tunnel Cats that occurred millenia ago.
History

Prelude[]
Milennia ago, the Phoenix invited the primitive tribes of Chima to their institutions of learning and improvement, in hopes of bringing them civilization. Sir Fangar, a young Saber-tooth Tiger, was one of their best students. Eventually, Fangar became so full of knowledge and achievement that he felt that the only thing left for him to accomplish was complete domination of Chima. Because of this, Fangar rebelled and formed the Hunters with the other students, starting the Hunter Wars.[2]
The First Hunter War[]
During the first Hunter War,[3][4] the Hunters used the caverns to travel around Chima.[5] However, the Tunnel Cats, who were feared Tiger and Leopard warriors, fought against the Hunters under the surface, chasing them through the caverns.[6] Desperate for victory and blinded by rage, Sir Fangar sent a group of Hunters to the Village of the Tiger Tribe, while it was unprotected. However, the Tigers who survived the attack that day fled to the Mount Cavora, where their responsibility was recognized by the Phoenix, who gave the Tunnel Cats Fire Chi to help them fight the Hunters more effectively.[3] Meanwhile, the other Tigers started to train the art of fighting after the Hunters' cowardly attack, eventually surpassing their previous protectors, Phoenix, who started the Royal Tiger Guards.[3] Eventually, the Tunnel Cats defeated the Hunters, with the victory costing their lives, leaving only Tormak.[6] Thus, ending the first Hunter War.
The Other Wars[]
Following the first Hunter War, the Hunters continued to their quest to conquer Chima, attacking various tribes, even burning down the village of the Ancient Lion Tribe and killing all of them except Li'Ella,[7] who was eventually found by Tormak.[6] Eventually, their attacks turned Chima into a lifeless wasteland, as those who survived the attacks went to the Phoenix Temple, where the Phoenix protected them.[2]
