Overview
The Tiger Tribe was a group of humanoid tigers that lived in the South of the Wyldness and Chima for millennia. Prior to the the Merge, a series of earthquakes took place in the Wyldness, leaving Ras and Zilvar as the sole survivors of the Southern Wyldness tribe. This motivated Ras to devise a plan to reverse the Merge in hopes of creating a new reality that will bring back his people.

After forming their tribe, the tigers settled down in a village in the South of the Wyldness, where they lived for years. One of them, Zarkar, was an Elemental Master who won the Tournament of the Sources, being regarded as a champion since then.[3] Members of the Tiger Tribe respected the Source Dragons and denounced the acts of those who dishonored them as "blasphemy".[4][5]
During the Wyldness medieval period, the tribe was attacked by the Wolf Clan. Most of them either submitted to Nokt and the Wolf Clan or were killed. Nokt took Zarkar as a "souvenir" with him to the Shadow Dojo, where he humiliated the weakened warrior in front of the rest of the Forbidden Five.[6]

At some point some of the tigers would move to a village in Chima. They came into conflict with the Hunters due to Sir Fangar's his attempted conquest, which lead to the Hunter Wars. During that time the Tiger Tribe warriors formed an alliance with the Leopard Tribe and became known as the Tunnelcats which were lead by Tormak.[7][8][9] After Fangar attacked the unprotected Tiger Village, the tigers moved to the Phoenix Temple on Mount Cavora where the Phoenix recognized the responsibility of the Tunnelcats.
To help them more effectively fight the Hunters the Phoenix allowed the Tigers to use Fire Chi.[7] They formed the Royal Tiger Guards, an alliance of tiger warriors who serve the Phoenix which Tormak became the leader of. While the Tunnel Cats won the war their victory left Tormak as the sole surviving Tunnelcat.[9] Following the Great Illumination that put an end to the Hunter Wars, they were bestowed with the Phoenix's immortality.
Long time later, the Southern Wyldness tribe's village was threatened by unsettling tremors. Although the Ancients of the Wyldness assured them that the disturbances would stop, Zilvar dismissed their claims as mere superstition. Worried for his people's safety, he set out to find a new home for the tribe. Unfortunately, by the time he returned, the village had been destroyed, and everyone had perished.[1] Only Zeras survived, rescued by a powerful being, and he took on the name Ras, turning away from the very concept of heroes since no one had saved his tribe.[5] Meanwhile, believing everyone was gone, Zilvar inscribed the names of the fallen on the tribe's memorial stone before leaving the Wyldness.[1]

After the Merge, Ras and his master planned to reverse it by capturing all the Source Dragons, intending to harness their Source Energy to undo the Merge and create a new reality that would revive the Tiger Tribe.[5]

Ras told Arin about his tribe while discussing his desire to undo the Merge. He explained that if he succeeds, it would allow them to rescue both Arin's parents and his fellow tribe members that died.

While fighting Ras in the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Rontu told him that as a Tiger Tribe warrior without any honor, Zarkar, his ancestor, would be ashamed of him.

- Rontu describes the Tiger Tribe as being made of honorable warriors and the actions of Ras would be seen as disgraceful. The point is further proven by Zilvar disagreeing with Ras' methods.
- All the known male members of the tribe, including the ones from Chima, have the letters "A" and "R" in their names. All the Ninjago male members also have names that start with "Z", while all known Chima members' names start with "T".
- The alphabet used on the memorial stone of the tribe is the same that is used in Legends of Chima. All the letters can be translated to the Latin alphabet, revealing names of many tribe members.
- In addition, the name of Tormak, along with two Tazars, appears on the stone.
- On the memorial, there is also another tribe member named "Kab Zarkarcub" which suggests they are another relative of Zarkar.
- Ras' birth name, Zeras, is written on the memorial stone even though he wasn't presumed dead until the tremors wiped out most of the tribe.
