The Snowball Effect

The Snowball Effect is the eighth episode of the third season of Legends of Chima and the 34th episode overall.

Plot

Plot[]

At the Ice Fortress, Fangar is currently organizing his collection of trophies when Maula and Stealthor interrupt him to tell him the Vultures have pursued the Bears and thinks that because of their ruthless attacks that the Bears became unconscious but are really sleeping, Fangar then tells them the Vultures need to hurry up so they can capture the Phoenix child Flinx and had him to his collection, he then tells Stealthor to put the frozen Plovar with the other frozen things in his Booby Prize section since he didn't want Plovar and Stealthor sets him upside down and walks away while Plovar appears to be pecking his way out. Meanwhile, Eris is sleeping in the Eagle Library where she once again is dreaming of the Panther, she flies after it and tells it to stop but it just growls at her, she then sees Chima freezing over and that the Panther is gone, then Mount Cavora, perched on an Ice pillar collapses to the ground causing Eris to scream and she wakes up with Ewald scolding her for screaming and tells her this is the Completely Ridiculous section not the Completely Screaming section and walks off. Laval and Flinx are at the Lion Temple with the Lion Legend Beast and Laval asks if they can check in on the other Legend Beasts, so the Lion Beast then sends out a fire trail signal to the other Legend Beasts who respond telling the Lion they are doing fine, however, as the Bear Legend Beast goes back to sleep, the Vultures finally decide to make their move at last and Vardy has his tribe freeze the Bears to take them back to the Ice Fortress.

The Rhinos are currently using a processing machine to turn rocks into valuable gold, silver and steel with Razar and Razcal watching them from up above and cannot wait to get ahold of that treasure for themselves, but before they can do anything, the two of them get frozen by Maula and Mottrot and the former tells her son they will also be taking the Rhinos too. Laval and Flinx then arrive at the Crescent to get Li'Ella so Laval can give her a tour of Lion City but Lundor tries to stop him when she makes herself known and Flinx goes to hug her, Li'Ella is ready to go if the offer is still good and Flinx also wants to come but Laval tells him he was already at Lion City but Flinx says it wasn't a full tour, this upsets Laval as he wanted it to be just him and Li'Ella but she doesn't mind Flinx being there as she thinks it will be fun, Laval reluctantly agrees to let Flinx join them but goes to tell Eris about it first. Eris is inside the Phoenix Temple telling Fluminox and Tormak of her Panther vision again, Tormak tells her these visions didn't come from them, but rather says these are visions of the past and future and Fluminox says they simply awakened this power inside of her which gave her these visions, just then Laval runs in to tell Eris he is heading to Lion City with Li'Ella and Flinx and asks quickly if she needs help to which he quickly thinks she doesn't and runs off leaving Eris confused. As the three of them leave, Fangar is watching them when he spots Li'Ella, it appears that Fangar had a thing for her when they were younger and believes passion had sparked in her when he burnt down her village and he pledges to get her and rekindle that passion but first he needs the Phoenix child.

The Rhino Legend Beast starts hearing and feeling rumbles in the ground and goes to check it out, Rogon, Rukus and Runk then plug Fire CHI orbs into their harnesses and Rinona hopes they find whatever they are looking for as she doesn't get the brain boost like they do, but just then, as the Rhino Beast is scanning the area, the ground beneath it collapses and falls into the tunnel below, revealing Mungus is the one who was making the ground rumbles and buries the Rhino Beast deeper into the hole he created, however, now with the Rhino Beast too far away, the intelligence increase the Beast gives the Rhinos fades away and Rhinos are reduced back to mind bumbling idiots and start smacking themselves when Rinona asks them what is going on and realizes the Legend Beast isn't around, she tries to get the Rhinos to use Fire CHI but Mungus runs over and smacks the ground underneath of Rinona dropping her and the Fire CHI into the cavern below and thus her and most of the Rhinos are frozen except for Rogon, Rukus and Runk, despite their lowered intelligence, they are able to distract the Mammoths by using the rock slabs they have and turn them into snowboards and start sliding across the snow and even knock over one of the Mammoths' vehicles, the three Rhinos then start performing all kinds of moves to which Maula is confused and asks Mottrot if the Rhinos are either retreating or fighting them but Mottrot says neither as he thinks they are simply playing, this gets Mungus cheerfully laughing clearly wanting to join on the fun with the Rhinos.

Laval, Li'Ella and Flinx arrive at Lion City and Laval shows them around, he starts in the statue hall where he points out how the statues represent some of Chima's most recognizable Lions and points that one statue even looks like him but Li'Ella is distracted when Flinx shows her the toy boat he made and then leads her to Laval's Room to see the toys in there, Laval frightened by this rushes to his room through a shortcut and tosses this toys out of the window, hitting Leonidas, the two guests then enter then room and Laval's shows them his only toy, his workout dummy Sir Punchalot but the two leave the room to explore more. Meanwhile, Maula orders Mungus to crush the Rhinos, but when Mungus goes to them, Rogon hands him a sled and Mungus joins in on the fun with Maula once again asking Mottrot what Mungus is doing and he says he is playing too. Leonidas then speaks with Longtooth about the falling toys that hit him and requests he take the rest of the day off as he can't work in that weather but Longtooth denies the request and sends Leonidas back to his post while unbeknownst to them, the tunnel behind the falls of Mount Cavora is freezing up, Laval and Li'Ella finally get some time alone and watch a rainbow form but Flinx shows up again after being distracted in the yard, just then, some of the Ice Hunters arrive at Lion City and the three of them spot them and Laval takes Li'Ella on the Lion Legend Beast and are able to chase the Hunters away with a fire trail. Back with the Mammoths, it appears most of them also started playing including Mottrot, angering Maula who begins to fake cry to him and Mungus and asks why she is crying and it's because the two of them just broke her heart after playing with the Rhinos, but Mottrot and Mungus say they love their mother and wouldn't want her to be hurt but rather hurt the Rhinos and so they finally attack them again, but Rinona on the Rhino Legend Beast breaks through a snow wall and chases away the Mammoths while increasing the Rhinos' intelligence again.

Lagravis walks into the Lion Temple and says he saw Laval on the Lion Legend Beast and asks Longtooth what he is doing and he says Laval is trying to impress Li'Ella but Lagravis says the Lion Beast to supposed to be protecting their tribe, just then, the room gets all chilly as the falls of Mount Cavora freeze over and Fangar and his Ice Hunters enter the Throne Room of the Lion Temple, Fangar demands they give him the Phoenix child but Lagravis refuses and Fangar takes a CHI orb from the Sacred Pool and eats it to power himself up and the two of them fight with Lagravis sending out a Lion roar which Laval hears and exclaims the Throne Room is in trouble but this scares Li'Ella too since Flinx is there which Laval starts blaming himself because he left Flinx alone again, but the Phoenix child rides in on his Speedor saying he wasn't going to let them do a Hunter fight without him and Laval exclaims he is glad that Flinx crashed his date this time but rolls it back trying to say it was a tour but Li'Ella plays along asking if this was how Lions date to which Laval stutters before chanting "FOR CHIMA!" and they head to the Throne Room. Inside, Sykor goes on a rampage and knocks down the Lion guards allowing the Hunters to freeze them and Fangar says that while they may not have the Phoenix child, he isn't leaving then empty handed so he freezes Lagravis to add him to his collection, but Tormak comes to the rescue and slides down the frozen falls and he and Fangar see each other for the first time in many years, Fangar says Tormak always did know their caverns well and says it's too bad his Tunnet Cat friends aren't here to see this and Tormak uses a Fire CHI orb and takes on the Saber-Tooths, defeating them and unfreezes Longtooth and the Lion guards and gives them Fire CHI orbs but Fangar is able to flee with Lagravis in hand.

Laval, Li'Ella and Flinx arrive on the Lion Legend Beast and chase the Saber-Tooths away, Li'Ella then runs to her father and asks him if he is okay to which Tormak said he hoped, after long centuries, he would never have to do this but never again, Laval then asks how he got in and Li'Ella says Tormak took the same tunnels as the Hunters then explains the backstory; Tormak led a team of special cave fighters called the Tunnel Cats. They were the toughest warriors in all of Ancient Chima. The ones who chased the Hunters through their treacherous caverns. And that is where he found Li'Ella after the Hunters burned down her village, the most savage battles of old took place in those caves. The Tunnel Cats triumphed but at a great cost, Tormak, her father, is the only Tunnel Cat left. Tormak then says he came to protect Li'Ella and he has done that and is now heading back to the Phoenix. Laval then asks Longtooth if everything is okay here, but Longtooth tells Laval that they can't find his father which scares Laval, turns out, Fangar was able to bring Lagravis back with him to the Ice Fortress and placed him in his collection alongside all the other tribes and objects he froze since his reign and Fangar laughs while looking at the now frozen Lagravis.
