The Crescent is the fifth episode of the third season of Legends of Chima and the 31st episode overall.

Plot

Plot[]

The Ice Hunters are once again marching through a now melting Chima when Laval, Cragger and Eris show up in their Fire CHI powered vehicles and melt the ice covering the Crocodile Swamp and chase the Hunters away, Cragger then sees his parents and his tribe aren't at the swamp and wonders where everyone is. The Hunters return to the Hunter Glacier in The Fangs and asks how they were able to gain the power of the Fire CHI when Fangar sees that Mount Cavora now sports the Phoenix Temple and says to his Hunters that they will teach them a lesson this time as they were their teachers, they will start by attacking the Hill that won't freeze; he recalls that Eris found it after she crashed there and says there was something familiar about that place, he then says to pick up the pace so they can go to the Hill. Maula then praises Mungus on fixing their Speedorz but Mottrot said that he was the one that got them out of the Ice and fixed them, Mungus simply just carried them but Mungus then drops them onto Mottrot annoying both him and Fangar. Laval and Lagravis then return to Lion City and talk about how they need more Fire CHI from the Phoenixes, Lagravis is still trying to process the idea of the Story Before The Great Story but Laval tries to cheer him up and says Fluminox reminds him of Lagravis but even more super serious which catches Lagravis' attention and asks is he really that super serious and doesn't laugh and Laval says pretty much yeah but also doesn't remember the last time he heard his father laugh which gets Lagravis thinking. Eris then heads to Fluminox for more Fire CHI but Fluminox says he can only provide more for her, Laval and Cragger, but Eris tries to get him to share it with the other tribes too but he is cautious after what happened last time with the groundborns, but Eris correctly points out how that was thousands of years ago and that he needs to move on as every tribe will need the Fire CHI if they are going to fend off the Hunters, Tormak steps in and tells Fluminox to let these tribes prove their worth like Laval and Cragger did and Fluminox agrees but they have to do something to prove they are worthy.

Eris tells Laval that Fluminox wants the tribes to protect the Crescent from the Ice Hunters and says this is another one of his "tests" Laval agrees and sends out a Lion roar to the Gorillas, Rhinos, Wolves, Ravens and Skinnet and set off to meet these tribes while Lagravis and Longtooth watch from Laval's Room as Laval and Eris leave and Skinnet sends out a skunk spray to Laval. Lagravis then says they will wait for the other tribes to return before going into battle to which Longtooth says that is a wise decision, Lagravis then asks Longtooth if he has a sense of humor, Longtooth tries to answer but Lagravis tells him to be honest to which he says not a chuckle and that confirms to Lagravis that he never laughs and asks what makes him different, Longtooth says that not everyone can laugh as they may not have a funny bone for that, but Lagravis takes this as a literal sign to find this funny bone instead him and enlists Longtooth to help him. The tribes arrive at the Crescent and Laval expresses that it's great that Worriz came but he says it's not for Laval but for the Fire CHI, Eris however says that there aren't enough orbs for everyone and they see the Hunters approaching them so Laval uses a Fire CHI orb and it powers up his Speedor, he then makes his way over to the Hunters and takes on Fangar, the two clash many times and Laval takes the time to make fun of Fangar, but Laval runs into different obstacles and even jumps off an ice ramp but uses the momentum to ram into Fangar thus throwing him off his Speedor but Mottrot and Vornon speed their way over to deal with Laval too and he find himself surrounded. Cragger, Worriz, Rogon and Eris then use the Fire CHI and go out to help Laval and fight the Hunters, they are successful in knocking out Mottrot and Vornon but Mungus then charges at them and sends them back and the Hunters start blasting at the Crescent, Laval orders everyone to head back and protect the Crescent as VoomVoom and Vornon try to sneak attack them from behind.

At the Lion Temple, Longtooth is trying to get Lagravis to laugh by making silly faces and telling jokes like how did the Crocodile know he was overweight? He broke all his scales. Know why skunks will never lead an army? Because they give the worst odors ever and finally, Why did the Gorilla take his lunch to the doctor? Because he wasn't peeling well. Longtooth then tries hitting himself, making weird movements and falling to the ground and Lagravis asks him if he is okay. Meanwhile, the tribes are holding back the Ice Hunters when Skinnet shows up, he tells Laval he heard his Lion roar and sent a skunk spray to let him know he was coming, but Cragger tells him they have everything under control and they don't need his help. Skinnet lets out the big stink he was saving for the Hunters in the Crescent making everyone inside flee because of the smell and are now closer to the Hunters, Rogon is able to help Gorzan from getting attacked by Fangar but the Hunters surround the tribes as their Fire CHI is about to run out. Back with Longtooth, he walks Lagravis over to the statues and tells him if he says anything different to which Lagravis does but asks who would deface one of their most noble Lion statues but Longtooth said he did it as a joke and pointed out the goofy eyes Lagravis isn't very pleased and thinks it's rude to put glasses on their tribe's statues but Longtooth then points out the rainbow wig and bikini on two other statues. Longtooth then asks Lagravis if he would laugh if he was tickled but Lagravis tells him to not do that, Longtooth then is about to have Leonidas do something to make Lagravis laugh but they see the Blazing Bastion at the top of Mount Cavora is taking off and heading towards the Crescent.

The Hunters are about to attack and defeat the tribes but the Blazing Bastion arrives with Foltrax, Firox and Frax piloting the flying building and shooting at the Hunters, chasing them away, they then land on top of the hill in the Crescent and Laval goes to greet them and welcome them to Chima but Tormak says that's enough and calls him a groundborn but Laval tries once more to greet them when a female Lion shows up and stops Laval but then realizes that he is a Lion just like her and she says she thought she was the only Lion, Laval tries to be nice again but Tormak knocks him down but Fluminox tells him he doesn't need to do that but Tormak argues that he is simply protecting his daughter, named Li'Ella from the young male that is Laval and Li'Ella giggles at him. Fluminox then gives his thanks to the tribes for protecting the Crescent and says they proved themselves worthy to use the Fire CHI whenever they need it and they will need it, the Blazing Bastion then leaves back to Mount Cavora leaving behind the Fire CHI, two guards and Li'Ella. Laval then tell her that it looks like she will be sticking around for a while and Li'Ella she is there to protect the Sacred Fire CHI for whenever they need it and Laval and Li'Ella exchanges thank yous for making one another feel hopeful and the two laugh with Cragger and Eris observing them.

As they are riding back home, Cragger asks Eris what is up with Laval to which she says Laval is in love, but Cragger says he won't be in love with anyone other than his Speedor but then he says, would he and they arrive at the Lion Temple. Lagravis is sitting on his throne and opens a can of snakes but doesn't laugh and that proves to him that he doesn't have a funny bone, but Laval runs into the room and tells Lagravis about how he met this Lion girl named Li'Ella and the flying building she came in on, but Lagravis for once actually laughs at this and figures out what humor is, you say the most ridiculous thing possible and that gets a laugh out of everyone and mocks his son by making fun of the fact he saw flying buildings and that Laval met Li'Ella, he then walks off still laughing and Laval says to himself that that's the last time he shares his feelings about Li'Ella to his father while Lagravis continues to laugh as the Blazing Bastion returns to Mount Cavora.
