Plot
Plot[]
In the heart of Mount Cavora, Fluminox introduces himself as the Sovereign of the Phoenix, which is the Ancient Clan of the Fire Wings. Laval then asks him what does he mean he was expecting them but Fluminox says he wasn't expecting him or Cragger, only Eris and she walks up to Fluminox assuring her friends they will be fine. The Ice Hunters are currently freezing over Chima having just conquered the Falling Jungle, at the Beaver Dam, Lagravis is discussing the Hunters with Bezar and tells him of the other locations that have been frozen since as The Fangs and the Crocodile Swamp and warns them that they will freeze the Beaver Tribe since they are on water, however the Beavers aren't so sure if they can fight off the Hunters, but Lagravis tells them that if they work together, they will find a way to hold back against the Hunters which lifts the Beavers' spirits as they love to work. Then Fluminox mentions how Mount Cavora used to be on the ground just like them and then explains their history; Many centuries ago, Mount Cavora was the tallest mountain in all of Chima and it was there the Phoenixes settled and made sure to bless those below on the ground, they graced the groundborns with their glorious institutions of learning and improvement, but says that their influence may have worked too well as a young Saber-Tooth Tiger named Fangar, was among the best students they had, he became so full of knowledge and achievement that he felt the only thing left for him to accomplish was complete domination of all of Chima, he then called himself Sir Fangar and sought to conquer all of the tribes and none of the groundborns could stop him and his attacks lead to wastelands across Chima, the Phoenixes tried to protect as many as they could and stopped the Hunters the only way they knew how. Imagine, the essence of all creation, the ultimate power contained in a single item and to imagine eight of these items as worn by the Phoenix Elders, this was the Great Illumination, it can restore existence to its most pure and natural state. The world renewed. Its creatures thrived. Paradise was embraced by all. Except for the Hunters, they fought against the Great Illumination with unrelenting fury, then the Great Illumination fought back and created the Gorge of Eternal Depth, the same power that pulled down the mighty gorge pushed up Mount Cavora. The Illumination pulled so much heat from The Fangs that nothing has grown there since and the Hunters were left to freeze into the ice inside the gorge. The Great Illumination then left behind a great and powerful energy field keeping them skyward and safe from intrusion. The Mountain breathed in the moist breath of the sky, water now blessed by Cavora's Illumination energy, brought forth the CHI and the Phoenix shared it with all tribes, this led to the tribes that they know today and how the Legend Beasts came to be. Everything then changed again, they carved the rocks above the Falls in honor of the new tribes and he then says this is the Story Before The Great Story. This excites the three of them but when Laval processes this information about there being a Story Before The Great Story he is worried what Lagravis might think.
Lagravis and Longtooth are observing the Beavers at their dam and notes they are blocking off the water, Longtooth then asks if the Beavers can fight to which Bezar says no as their build will do it for them. Meanwhile, Eris exclaims that while it's great that there was a Story Before The Great Story, she tells Fluminox that the Hunters have returned and plan to destory Chima again. Fluminox takes note and says that the ice that trapped the Hunters held its own energy from the Great Illumination and it gave the Hunters incredible new powers, Laval then says they can freeze almost everything, Fluminox says indeed and then shows the trio their Fire Chi for the very first time saying they will need it to fight the Hunters. Eris gets her first Fire CHI and plucks into her chest powering her up and giving her a new fire themed outfit and starts flying around, Laval then says to give them some of that CHI but Fluminox that it's not for groundborns like him but Cragger says both of them are heroes too, Tormak however tells his leader to let Laval and Cragger prove they are worthy by going through the Trial by Fire, Fluminox doesn't think it's a good idea but Cragger once again points out that he and Laval are heroes too, this finally convinces Fluminox and he opens up the trial to them. Laval and Cragger are then dropped down into the first part of the Trial, to jump across the fire, Fluminox still isn't very confident but Tormak assures him that the two young heroes have spirit and will make it out alive, but then Cragger's catches on fire and starts running from the fire and Tormak rephrases what he said by saying they will probably make it and Laval tells Cragger to hurry up. Lagravis and Longtooth then express that they see how the dam drained the ponds but they aren't sure what the big poles are for, but then a Beaver points out that the Hunters are here and he gets instantly frozen, Lagravis and Longtooth then run up to see their enemies, Lagravis notes that they got there pretty quickly and Longtooth suggests they call for more Lions but Lagravis says they have no time and will just have to rely on the Beavers who are shaking in terror. Bezar then orders his troops to put on their helmets and to release the dam and says levers down and Ice up, Lagravis and Longtooth then learn the big poles were there so they can lift up the Ice, they can do it and send the Hunters back a bit but Fangar orders his troops to rise above the Ice and orders the Vulture Tribe to have the Beavers and Lions feel their freeze, Bezar orders to launch the logs and they take out a few Vultures with them, they finish off the rest by launching more logs and they successfully take out all the Vultures in the sky and start celebrating.
During the Trial by Fire, Eris returns and asks if this is really necessary to which Fluminox says it is as it's not just a test for physical skill, but also of honor and trust, Laval and Cragger then nearly make it to the end of the first part of the Trial with a voice calls out to them for help, Laval hears this and wants to help but Cragger says they can't as it's fire and he just wants to finish the Trial, but Laval tells him that it sounds like a little kid and they can't just leave him down there, Laval then jumps down to where this kid is and Cragger then jumps after complaining to Laval on why he has to be a hero, Eris then sees them jump and she goes to help them but Fluminox urges her not to. The Beavers are celebrating in their victory but Lagravis points out how this win seemed a bit too easy and says something isn't right about their battle today, just then, Longtooth feels a cold breeze on one side, Lagravis then says he feels it too but in a different direction, it's then revealed that they Hunters have flanked both sides of the Beaver Dam and are moving in on them freezing everything in sight, Lagravis then states that the river was only the first part of the attack and orders the Beavers to keep fighting and launch more logs. Eris is then searching for Laval and Cragger when she sees them in the fire and goes down to them, it's revealed that the kid that was trapped is Fluminox's son Flinx, Cragger then asks if he knew about the fire then why did he call for help but Flinx said because he thought it would be funny and says his father has no sense of humor, Laval then asks him if he can help them with the rest of the Trial to which Flinx reveals the next and final part of the Trial, they are required to sail across the lake of liquid fire and get to the other side to light the torch there, they get onto the rock platform and Flinx gives them shields so they can row themselves to the other side but also block the fire blasts of the Legend Beasts. Laval and Cragger eventually make it to the other side and they light up the torch with the fire they gathered and they successfully finished the Trial by Fire and are now worthy to use the Fire CHI just like Eris.
The Hunters continue to attack the Beaver Dam and they are able to freeze a few Beavers and even Longtooth after Lagravis tells him to CHI up, but he is too late to tell him so he CHI's up instead but he played right into Fangar's plan and Bezar tries to attack but he gets frozen too and Lagravis and the Beavers fall back as Fangar takes Bezar's CHI and eats it to power himself up, but as Fangar and the Hunters are about to freeze the rest of their enemies, Eris flies in and starts blasting fireballs at them and Laval and Cragger also arrive to fight against the Hunters, Fangar orders to freeze them but the trio use Fire CHI to power up their vehicles which melts the ice around them and they unfreeze the Beavers and Longtooth and destroy the Hunters' vehicles, Laval then gives Lagravis a Fire CHI orb which he switches out with his regular CHI orb and charges at Maula and Mungus forcing them to run away and Fangar says this isn't over as he gets blasted at and he starts running away, the Lions, Beavers, Cragger and Eris are successful in defeating the Hunters again and celebrate once more. Lagravis then exclaims they have defeated their enemies for the first time and it's all thanks to their Fire CHI, Laval says to say thanks to the Phoenixes up on Mount Cavora, but Lagravis asks him how that happened to which Laval says it's a long story and mentions to him about the Story Before The Great Story which he will tell him once they get back home and Laval chants "FOR CHIMA!" with Mount Cavora hovering above.
